Conflict: Denied Ops PC Demo problem

I tired to install the Conflict: Denied Ops PC Demo
but it came up with an odd error.

    http://img441.imageshack.us/my.php?i...sdemoeroe8.jpg
'Windows Installer - The System Administrator has set policies
    to prevent this installation'

I have the most recent Windows Installer .

Recently installed games on my system:
NFS Prostreet , Savage 2 , SOF Payback , Timeshift,
War Front Turning Point , Painkiller Overdose MP Demo , ETQW Demo 2 (v1.4)

None had this odd error . I am running a custom Nlited edition of
    Windows 2003 without Dotnet , WMP , OE , IE .

If anyone knows of any way of setting a policy to fix this that would be
great . This is the FIRST GAME EVER that has displayed this .

Being a demo it doesn't impress me since it doesn't work .
I find Demos are a great indication what the Retail game is like
and if its worth supporting or not .

Having Mutliplayer coop was the thing that interested me . I havent
played any of the prev games in this series . I enjoy coop shooters like
    GR1 , R6 series (not crap lockdown or vegas) , GRAW1 , Swat1/2/3 (not 4)
    , Joint Operations .

I would like to see more PC games supporting Split screen two player mode
or one player on the first screen and second player on another screen/tv
and more games supporting LAN Multi-player coop mode in HIGHER NUMBERS

coop over the years on PC seem to be a rare find and some games
supported coop in LARGER NUMBERS recently decreasing it to support
more bling stuff like bloom/gloss/reflections/un-needed graphical effects.

Just like to tell you I agree 100% on what you're saying. Also would like to point out I also am having the exact same issue and of course no luck on a fix yet. But you said you're using 2003, well I'm using XP64, so that's 2 different OS's with the same issue. Looked good in the screenshots, but if it's this much of a hassle it just isn't worth it :/ Also I've never had this issue on any other game as well. UT3, ETQW, Crysis, SupCom, Bio5h1t(yes it sux IMHO, but I still installed it), WoW and many many others.

Tards using MSI files for installing need SHOT. Make a game yourself but can't make an installer, it isn't that bloody hard.

EDIT: I thought of a funny joke about this game already. "The name says it all" lol... DENIED!

PS. Stupid filters on language -.- Made me type in retard 1337

I have been googling for some answers on this and come up emtpy.

It seems to be an issue with the MSI file trying to do things with your PC
and is probly setup secure in 2003 and XP 64bit but left open with
    2000/XP.

Ive even seen people having the same error with Vista .

Ive tired to find a program that extracts the files out of the MSI file
without luck . Found one but it needed dot net .
(DONT HAVE dot net installed nor do i want to installl it)

I have found one microsoft program called Orca that allows
you to change some settings (but not extract files) in the MSI file
So many things it gives you choices for , finding how to turn off
what ever is stoping users to install it could take hours .

Few websites suggest using msiexec /a filename.msi command
    but that doesnt work either.

    Update:
Looks like I found a solution while typing this post .
    Program called Universal Extract (FREEWARE)
    http://www.legroom.net/software/uniextract

Which is downloaded as an MSI file (WTF NOOOOO)
and a rar file (portable no setup needed)

While the Universal Extract (choosed the 3rd option for MSI files)
it extracted all the files to a path .

Then I saw an data.cab file (WHOOOOOOOOOHOOO BINGO)
Universal extract was still playing extract fun . I extracted the data.cab
    file using WinRAR

GOT THE GAME WORKING ON Windows 2003 now !

So after all that stuffing around the stupid annoying MSI FILE
It looks like the game does not need
    the msi file
adding reg stuff by the setup program
    a setup program
infact it runs portable (no setup) fine from one directory

So to review to get the game working
    * use Program called Universal Extract (FREEWARE)
    http://www.legroom.net/software/uniextract
    * Extract the file using it
    see pic:
    http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/4...03demogsk1.jpg
    * once you see the data.cab use Winrar to extract it to a new path
wait for universal extract to do all its stuff
    * copy/move the data.cab extracted folder to your games directory/path
    * create shortcut for the conflictdeniedops.exe
    * play game

Well after trying it sound in the menu works
but sound in the game doesnt .

Its missing a cross hair for zoom mode .

So far by going by the demo , its not going to get me to
support the game by getting the retail when it comes out at all .
Infact I might recommend people NOT to buy/play this game.

    After experiencing the bad demo.

New demo that works correctly would be great .

What hardware are you running your machine? have you got the latest drivers etc?

Somehow I doubt its my hardware setup considering every other game
works PERFECTLY FINE . I have mentioned in the first post games
    that work fine .

Maybe you can tell us what hardware changes the game play aspects
to add cross hair , working sound in the game (not the menu) , adding
more coop players , adding AI control method system .

Plus Ive got the demo working now , as mentioned above posts.

Its not the first time Ive seen software installers not working with
    Windows 2003 32bit and Windows XP 64bit (eg UT2007)
(thats the main thing Ive seen by using 2003 the installers dont work
with it or more to the fact they block you installing , so you just
copy the files to the hdd by manual and run the game yourself)

CPU: Intel P4 2.8 ghz (probably a prescot)
    RAM: 2 gig RAM - DDR400 Twinmos Duel kit ( 2 x 1 gig)
Video: Gainwood 7600 GT 256MB AGP video card
Mobo: Asrock socket 478 mobo with intel chipset
    Network: SMC Gigabit PCI card
Sound: SB live Value PCI card
    Screen: Asus 22" VW222
    HDD: 1x 120gb ide for OS's (2003 and Linux) &
    1 x 200gb IDE for games installed

    Drivers:
Latest stable drivers that work fine on all other games
I dont use built in microsoft drivers were possible and they are removed by nlite
Video Card Driver - NVIDIA v169.21
It seems to be the only stable driver that works on all games and supports opengl games
    correctly
