    Unhappy R.I.P. Olly

    I'm not sure if anyone is interested but, as several people have expressed interest in my cats over the years I thought I should let you know that my eldest, Olly, passed away after falling into a diabetic coma on Friday.
    He failed to respond to intensive treatment at the Vets and slipped away at about 6:00am on Sunday morning.

    There are some other pictures of him on his own web page HERE, or you can see all the cats on their main homepage HERE.

    God rest this merry gentlecat

    I've known Olly a long time and always thought of him as a genuine cat in many ways. he never asked for much, and always gave when it was appropriate (to him) . Such a lovely cat who will always be remembered by me.
    He was a magical animal too, he could transport himself seemingly at will and appear in more than one place at a time. Goodnight gentle cat.

    I am very sorry for your loss Staticon, and understand completely what you are going through.

    I was always interested in Olly's visits to this forum, and I will miss him.

    I'm very sorry to hear of your loss, Staticon.
    Losing a pet is like losing a family member.

    But remembering the good times you gave each other will hopefully help ease the loss.

    My condolences Staticon, I know it's always hard loosing one of our furry friends, whatever the cause their lives always seem so short in comparison to our own. At least Olly had a loving home for the time he was here though.

    At least he knew his owner loved him very much.

    Sorry to hear about that, Staticon. No doubt Olly chose his care-giver wisely.

    Almost every time I met Olly, he was gazing out into the distant unknown. He would sit and stare down his water bowl looking for something I know not what!

    Olly, I hope you found what you were looking for! I'll miss you, you were precious!

    ((((((((((Kev)))))))))) so sorry you've lost your friend!

    So sorry to hear about Olly.
    I'll always fondly remember his forum exploits whenever
    he visited here. You'll have to give his chums a little extra lovin'.
    Yuri and Shep send their sympathies!

    Thank you all for your kind words and support. It means a lot.

    Stanley and Rufus are both getting extra fuss and love and not minding it at all.

    But I do miss Olly. He was special.

    They all are Staticon, each and every one in their own way grabs your heart in a different place and never lets go. I'm glad you have the other boys to pick up the cuddle slack, though, that sure helps the healing.

    Staticon. I am so sorry about Olly
    I have not been here, for quite a while.
    They are special each one. When one goes it is heartbreaking. I lost one of my Cats November. They are so much part of your family and life/. Each one is missed. I miss my Merlin so much. A big softy. It is easier having your other two boys.. I know though. (for you)

    Thanks again for the kind words and support.

    The sad thing is, just over a week after Olly passed on, my sisters dear dog, Maddy, had to be put to sleep. She had a huge tumor in her abdomen.

    Thankfully, though it caused her some distress, she had no pain from it but it was too big to remove having engulfed the tubes that lead to the kindneys and a major artery.

    Also, being an elderly dog, it was felt that operations could have had an adverse effect on her health even if she survived them.

    It's been an awful few weeks lately.

    And there are a few more pictures of Maddy HERE.

    I knew her since she was a puppy, and she was a wonderful dog. And as I know Kevs sister too, I feel the loss as well.
    I really hope both Kev and his sister see a light at the end of the tunnel, and can experience some happiness again soon.

    Poem for Dog Lovers
    Hello. I've been expecting you for quite some time.
    Here, come sit beside us for awhile .
    and let me tell you about this old friend of mine.
    She might look tattered or maybe old
    But I won't say goodbye until you've been told.
    She had the brightest eyes I had ever seen,
    And wore a beautiful fur coat that would out shine a queen .
    She was never prissy but walked with an aire ......
    And oh so polite, you could take her most anywhere.
    She could run like the wind and could catch anything she chased
    But she protected and sat with me when I had problems to face.
    You could not find a friend nearly so dear.
    Because no matter the trouble she always stayed near...
    She has never asked for much from me;
    Just to love and respect her and I think you'll agree .
    To give her a good meal plus a nice warm bed is not much to ask ;
    When she has given me all her love and to her this was no task.
    Now I understand you have a schedule to keep.
    But I have a small favor before she nods off to sleep.
    Please fold your wings around her and let her feel young while in no pain ;
    Dear Guardian Angel of Pets ,
    please keep her safe and happy until I see her again.
