    Just Demo Error. .

I have downloaded from 4 sites total. All around 542mb. Just to make sure I don't have a bad download or something. All of them will not start the demo and I get this error.

    -05009 0x8002802b

All it says is to make sure that I close all other applications before starting the demo and if the problem still presist to contact edios administrators or go to Justcausegame.com.

Also another error from loading the game a different way tells me about vixel shaders and pixel shaders 1.1 or 1.0.

Here are my specs. nevermind I guess you can't anyways here is a link to another fourm site with my dxdiag sheet. . .

The pixel shader error your getting seems to indicate that you have an old video card that doesn't support pixel shader, something that the game appearantly needs.

It does, its a 7800GTOC it does support vertex shaders and pixel shaders. If you would have clicked on that link you have known that.

This is really disappointing because my rig is nothing short of what's needed to run this game. This is the second time I've run into an issue such as this and the first time was last week while trying to play the Maelstrom demo. I recieved the same type of error, first time in all of my years of PC gaming.

    Hope this is fixable.

Hmmm... odd. That error report isn't saying much but it appears to be a Checksum error. This is the install package doing a self check and telling you it is corrupt.

Possible cause: Firewall. If you have an NVidia NForce 3 or 4 MOBO (Likely as you are running that card) disable the Active Armour that comes with it. I had this issue with the last few sets of MOBO drivers. The firewall software if FUBAR and buggers up any downloads.

Just a thought, might be wrong...

Post your dxdiag info rather than this.

Well, your problem is most likely that your sound card shows as "emulated" which means that it isn't recognized as an actual device.
Why it happens - I don't know, but you better fix it, starting with the drivers uninstall/reinstall. Google sort of suggests that something like this can be caused by certain conflicts between different hardware.

Of you turn audio down in dxdiag as suggested in another thread by a mod, i think all sound cards will come up as emulated.

Ok well i roll back my driver on my sound card and that was the problem for the error. Doesn't make sense but its working now, the game is great for a demo but xbox360 looks so much better then the PC.

    I found a fix!

An OpenAL reinstall/update seemed to do the trick. Just go to that link and run the exe it provides! All the loading crashes solved!
