    Research points

    I don't get any of this, can someone please explain this to me in detail?

    Hard to know where to start. Did you check out the pdf manual on the game CD/DVD?

    More research points output = faster research = faster advance through the tech tree.
    Research points also can be sold for pocket change if desired.

    How do I sell the research points, and how many research points = 1 less turn?

    Each research has a cost at the top of it's description in green. If you hover the the mouse over the green bar at the top of the research screen you can see how many points you produce per turn.

    You need to keep adding that number until you get to the number listed on the research itself to see how many turns it will take.

    Say Research x costs 8000 points. I produce 1200 points a turn.

    1200 x 1 = 1200 (1 turn)
    1200 + 1200 = 2400 (2 turns)
    2400 + 1200 = 3600 (3 turns)
    3600 + 1200 = 4800 (4 turns)
    4800 + 1200 = 6000 (5 turns)
    6000 + 1200 = 7200 (6 turns)
    7200 + 1200 = 8400 (7 turns)

    So in 7 turns I produce the 8000 points needed plus an excess of 400.

    400/7 = 57 (to 0 d.p)

    This means I can afford to sell 57 research points a turn.

    To sell them you must click on the green bar and adjust the slider.
