"North American publisher Yen Press announced at New York Comic Con on Saturday that it is collaborating with Square Enix to publish Square Enix's English-language manga digitally worldwide. Yen Press will distribute worldwide the titles that it has licensed from Square Enix, including Black Butler, Soul Eater, and Pandora Hearts.

The Square Enix Members website will still host the manga, but Yen Press will additionally distribute the titles digitally worldwide.

The titles will be available digitally starting in winter 2012.

Square Enix launched a digital manga store in North America and France in fall 2010 with titles such as Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater, Black Butler, O-Parts Hunter, The Record of a Fallen Vampire, Pandora Hearts, Sumomomo Momomo, and Spiral: Bonds of Reasoning."

The Record of a Fallen Vampire was a very good manga. Hopefully square enix can make a video game of it? Currently have all the books, so maybe I should go ahead and get a digital collection of it too.

I still prefer physical books myself (got a decent collection of mangas at home, haha), but if digital releases include titles that previously haven't been released in English before, I can see it gaining some momentum. AFAIK, digital releases are cheaper than physical books, so that's a potential element to sway people over.

Also would be really kewl to get a discount of a digitial copy if you already bought physical copies, but that might be a stretch...
