I am cheating ! I am cheating ! Technically 1st is still done based on HR and 2nd is done after seeing trailer, but uses old visuals as those were easier to do after playing game after so many times. Re-post from HR sub forums, but I take the hint from the Lady's comment and (ab)use it to poke fans to get this new thread and show on road too. I will make up my re-post with something new based on trailer or new images soon ™.

DX: Children's Crusade comic coming February 2016

We're pleased to announce the first issue of the new Deus Ex Universe comic series, entitled 'Children's Crusade'. Here is a quick synposis on it:

With society still reeling from the Aug Incident - the Illuminati orchestrated event which caused augmented individuals to mindlessly attack their 'natural' counterparts - anti-aug sentiment is at an all-time global high. Task Force 29 - an Interpol-funded coalition, created to quash the rising tide of terrorist activity - stands as the world's main defence against total anarchy.

In the city of Prague, where tension is especially high, the team's latest recruit, Adam Jensen, readies for his first mission with the unit. But being augmented himself, how will the former SWAT officer handle himself when faced with the grim reality of the mechanical apartheid?

This comic will be hitting store shelves in February 2016.
Check your local comic book store for availability details in your area, and be sure to give us your feedback on Facebook and Twitter!

I think the philosophy here was not have a tremendous amount of them - we invested in deeper stuff, and twists in terms of the gameplay.”

PAX Aus 2015: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Receives Extended Gameplay Trailer

With PAX Australia 2015 now in full swing, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal earlier today presented extended gameplay footage from the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Eidos Montreal’s executive narrative director Mary DeMarle was on hand to showcase the demo, which featured protagonist Adam Jensen infiltrating a theatre controlled by the infamous Dvali organised crime family. Although the footage had previously been shown off behind closed doors to members of the media, this was the first public showing of the mission, which takes place approximately two thirds of the way through the game.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has an answer to one Human Revolution criticism up its sleeve

The original Deus Ex holds a place of honor among games.

Back in 2000, it was an early example of the narrative shooter genre, something was more concerned with storytelling and character development than with action. There was still plenty of action to be had in Deus Ex, for players who chose to build their character around combat, but the design allowed them to use stealth, hacking, or diplomacy to resolve situations too. The 2011 prequel Deus Ex: Human Revolution used these core principles, but it also introduced players to a new protagonist, Adam Jensen. That star returns in 2016 with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

GamesBeat spoke with game designer Antoine Tisdale about what the future holds for Jensen and how Mankind Divided (which arrives February 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC) will honor its ancestry.

Gamezone Preview: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided brings refinement over revolution

When you interview a game developer, there are always these kneejerk questions that pop out. They’re the basic bullet points -- how many players does it support, will it have DLC, is it coming to Wii U, how is it pushing the new consoles? -- they’re often softball questions leading up to the more interesting stuff. And usually devs have an equally kneejerk answer to these types of questions. So it was a bit of a surprise when I caught Eidos Montreal executive game director Jean-Francois Dugas off-guard when asking how a new console gen would make Deus Ex better...
    __

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will handle endings better than its predecessor

While Deus Ex: Human Revolution was well received by critics and fans alike, there were some elements more criticized than others. Aside from the game’s outsourced boss battles, the ending was the area of greatest contention among fans. In short, all the choices the player makes throughout the game are meaningless to the ending, which is determined by which big button the player does or doesn’t press. “Which ending do you want?” the game seemed to ask. That won’t happen with the sequel, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, says the developer.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's head writer "wanted to kill" Adam Jensen

Adam Jensen is the Deus Ex series' first returning lead character, which brings new challenges for the writers (not least, having to canonise an ending). So many challenges, it seems, that Jensen could well have been killed off before Mankind Divided started.

In an interview with GamesRadar last week, executive narrative director, Mary DeMarle explained, "when we started Mankind Divided we knew he was coming back, but when we finished Human Revolution we didn’t know he was coming back!" Executive art director, Jonathan Jacques-Belletête simplifies that a little:

"She wanted to kill him! I thought she was crazy! At first I was like 'All my work! God damn!' It’s so freaking hard to create an iconic hero in this industry, it just kind of happened by magic, so I was like “Mary! What are you doing?”

Deus Ex on Twitter: "You asked for this: we are cancelling the "Augment your Pre-Order" program. Read all the details ...

    https://www.deusex.com/news/aypo-cancelled

    https://steamcommunity.com/games/337...83563363172366

At both Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal, we’ve been listening to everything you’ve had to say about the Augment Your Pre-Order program. When it was first conceived, we wanted the program to give you more choice about what you received in terms of pre-order incentives - because we've seen in the past that when we choose those packages ourselves, and split them across regions, it has caused frustration. We quickly noticed that this approach created even more frustration than before, resulting in a resounding amount of negative feedback.

We’ve spent a lot of time reading through all of your comments, working to understand how we can try to make things right for you. After much thought and reflection, we decided to close down the program and make all of the incentive content available to anyone who pre-orders Deus Ex: Mankind Divided or purchases a Day 1 edition of the game. Additionally, the release date will no longer be changed in accordance with pre-order numbers, and everyone will gain access to the game on February 23rd, 2016.

Your feedback and input is of the utmost importance to us-- as it’s your loyalty and passion for our franchises that gives us the opportunity to continue providing you with great gaming experiences.

To our faithful fans who’ve already pre-ordered: we will be taking care of everything necessary to ensure that all of the changes to the program will be automatically applied to your purchase. Meanwhile, we'd like to thank everybody for their feedback - we know this wouldn't have happened with a game that nobody cared about, and we're just focusing now on delivering a game that lives up to your hopes and expectations.

After getting hands on with a demo build of the game, we had the privilege to speak with the studio’s executive audio director, Steve Szczepkowski, about enhanced audio and aesthetics, player choice and even a hypothetical pub encounter with Metal Gear Solid’s Snake.

Viral Marketing for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on the Streets of New York

It’s rare nowadays to see physical marketing for video games such as billboards, commercials, or even posters, really. This changed when the people over at AugAware.org decided to warn the people of New York with posters depicting the safety of humans being compromised by augmented individuals. Of course, none of that is real because it’s all from the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, including the website provided (if you click on the link).

Eidos Montreal and Square Enix put up these posters both to promote this game as well as to allow fans to get secret wallpapers by photographing the QR code at the bottom of the posters.

We will also be doing an AMA on the official Deus Ex subreddit this Friday, with Patrick Fortier (Gameplay Director) and Mary DeMarle (Executive Narrative Director). Come ask your questions to our team!

Now excuse me, I need to go lie down before I faint. Aaahhh, excitement!

    JULY

PC Gamer - DX:MD won't force you to kill its bosses

You can count me among the vocal majority who loved Deus Ex: Human Revolution but absolutely hated its boss battles. Thankfully Eidos Montreal heard our cries, because the studio is approaching bosses differently in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. While it's previously been hinted that boss battles won't rely on violence, new details suggest you'll be able to negotiate with them. Better still, you might choose to keep them alive.
    __

You can defeat bosses in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided by talking to them (See August update)

Speaking in the latest issue of OXM, via GamesRadar, gameplay director Patrick Fortier said bosses in Mankind Divided are more balanced this time out, and conversations can provided players with “a different means of dealing” with the situation.

“For Human Revolution, because of the way we designed it, [bosses] always died in the cutscenes,” added narrative director Mary DeMarle. “You had no choice. But we rectified that in the Missing Link DLC, and we’ve rectified it in this game.”
    __

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Will Not Support Multiplayer
Almost every game released these days comes with more focus on the multiplayer aspect of it than the single player version. So it's kind of an odd-ball situation for some when developers announce they won't be supporting multiplayer for a certain title. Now it seems similar will be the deal with the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
    __

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s Jean-François Dugas on the series, augmentations and the future of gaming

The Deus Ex series is a rare thing in gaming. Combining choice-based gameplay with strong transhumanist themes, Eidos Montreal’s epic series lets us explore a near-future Earth where augmentations are common and morality is fluid. Perhaps more importantly, it’s also incredibly fun to play, and with the last installment, Human Revolution, proving to be such a hit, we’re excited to find out what next year’s release, Mankind Divided, has to offer.

We caught up with executive game director Jean-François Dugas to find out more about what we can expect, his thoughts on the issues the series raises and how he envisions gaming to progress in the future. A cautionary note, though: there are some light spoilers for Human Revolution ahead...
    __

Deus Ex Mankind Divided is ditching the Renaissance for an Apartheid feel
What’s it going to be like, living in a world of post-humanism? It’s not so much science fiction these days, as it is science fact as we move closer and closer to creating technologies that can augment our fleshy and frail bodies.

Deus Ex would be “perfect” for virtual reality: Mankind Divided executive game director

The transhumanist video game franchise Deus Ex would be “perfect” for a sequel made for virtual reality, according to Jean-François Dugas, executive game director of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Dugas, who made the comments in an interview with Factor featured in the newly released gaming issue, said that the level of detail put into each Deus Ex game would make the franchise well-suited for a transition to VR.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Shows Technology at Its Peak, Humanity at its Worst
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was about the world changing. Whether those changes were for the better or the worse was up to players; in the last moments of the game, protagonist Adam Jensen--a man made half-machine after a fatal encounter that should have killed him--was handed power over humanity's fate. Jensen's final choice, made by the player, could either warn humanity of augmentation's dangers moving forward or offer them a partial version of the truth. Alternatively, Jensen could place blame in such a way that augmentation and technological resource will flourish as humanity turns on its opponents in anger.

But there was one more ending. By doing nothing--choosing none of the above--Jensen would activate the self-destruction of Panchaea, the island home of the world's most ambitious geo-engineering projects. By destroying Panchaea and everyone on it at the time, Jensen makes a statement that it isn't up to one person or group to decide the world's fate; it's humanity's own choice to make.

It is this final choice that developer Eidos Montreal has chosen to use as the base for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the sequel to Human Revolution. But in making this one ending canon, some fans of the series say it ruins the poignancy of the choices they made in Human Revolution. But according to Deus Ex executive art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletete, the path chosen for Mankind Divided includes elements of all possible endings. In wrecking Panchaea, you do many things--expose the truth, but not all of it, and allow humanity a chance to decipher the meaning of these things for themselves.

RPS - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided: An Interview About Jensen 2.0

Deus Ex meets District 9″ is how the company described Deus Ex: Mankind Divided [official site] during a demo I attended at E3. Set two years after Human Revolution, Mankind Divided showcases a society still deeply fearful after the Aug Incident where mechanically augmented people turned violent, stripped of self-control after a signal deliberately interfered with their in-built bio-chips. The scale of the incident means augmentations are now viewed with suspicion and augmented people treated as outcasts. Adam Jensen himself is working as a counter-terrorist agent fighting some of the resultant crime. Well. That’s his day job. He secretly believes the task force was set up by the Illuminti for a different purpose and is working to take them down.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided interview: Destinations and play styles
If you have played the first two Deus Ex games in the series, then you know about the global nature each one has taken since the franchise began back in 2000. Taking you places you've never been to before and embracing the fashion in which you wish to play are staples for Deus Ex.

Getting back to where you will go, Eidos has promised visiting some diverse locations via the game's narrative. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Executive Audio Director Steve Szczepkowski mentioned to Examiner.com a few locations we already know about, but did say people can expect to be taken to some new places around the world.

Will old and new Deus Ex ever meet up? “I think we could totally connect”

We're getting more than a little excited for the latest entry in the Deus Ex franchise, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (not least because its narrative choices will shape the story around you and because it's shaping up to be a better shooter than most actual shooters), but we still can't help thinking wistfully of how the series used to be back in the day. In the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine, executive art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête discusses the legacy of the original Deus Ex and the possibility of finally weaving the entire Deus Ex mythos together.

"I think we could totally connect our games exactly to how the first Deus ex went," he says. "I think so. it just makes sense. Because you see in the first one, the stage is already set. Gunther and Anna, they’re relics, mechanically augmented, and there are tons of jokes about that in the game – ‘rusty old toasters’, ‘tin cans’ – because the new augmented people are [genetically enhanced] guys like JC Denton and Walton Simons. so the stage is all set."

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a better shooter than most actual shooters
As everybody's favourite humourless transhumanist Adam Jensen steps into a beautifully sunlit Prague train station, for once his funny little pop-up shades are justified. Imagine that, a Deus Ex game not set during an apparent month-long solar eclipse. Already the visual difference between Mankind Divided and its predecessor is, well, night and day. Fitting that its new engine should be called Dawn.

-Jensen doesn't full trust Task Force 29, also feeds intel to another covert organization called the Juggernaut Collective
-In true Deus Ex fashion, you often receive conflicting missions, neither can be fully trusted
-Boss encounters are designed in a way to allow players to approach any way they want (stealth, full combat, etc)
-Eidos won't comment on which ending it considers canon but is trying to string together different parts of each ending for the overall background of Mankind Divided
-Story is in many ways a story of redemption for Jensen
-The story they're telling is building to events that take place in the original Deus Ex
-With Mankind Divided, they're exploring the original game's past; "Is the depiction of past events from the original Deus Ex true? Will we discover stuff we never knew?"
-Added a lot of diversity to the environments
-Females are also now part of the regular enemies in the game
-One of Jensen's missions takes him to Utulek Station in Prague, now a ghetto for augmented individuals
-It is nicknamed "Golem City", based on the real life Kowloon Walled City
-Shops line the streets, temporary housing units stacked on one another reaching upwards toward the sky; claustrophobic atmosphere
-Mission to track down a leader of an aug group, but police have captured the informant
-Can choose to butter up the informant's wife for clues or cause a scene with the police
-Alternatively Jensen can bypass this area of the game altogether and find the leader's hideout on his own
-Mentions Jensen engaging in tense conversation with the leader, resulting in a diplomatic solution or violence
-Transhumans (augs) referred to as "clanks" by police
-"You can go full combat or full stealth throughout any part of the game"
-Side quests meant to be more meaningful; ex. players can choose to make deals with criminal organizations and its mob boss might call in a favor later interrupting main missions
-Doesn't want fetch quests, the team sees the extra quests as a way to explore the main themes of the game more deeply
-Features twice as many augmentations as Human Revolution
    -Aug examples:
    • Tesla: little darts pop out of Jensen's knuckles allowing him to tag enemies and take them out quietly
    • Silent Run: Allows Jensen to move quickly across any floor without making a sound (can combine with cloaking)
    • C.A.S.I.E.: Allows Jensen to analyze the mental state of individuals, helping him to respond adequately in conversations
    • PEPS Gun: Non-lethal weapon that pops out of Jensen's bionic arm and fires a concussive blast allowing him to knock an enemy out, kill him or flee

-Augmentation features can be assigned on the d-pad for quick selection
-Augmentations consume a fixed amount of energy, when Jensen stops using them he regains a portion of it
-Can still refill his augs completely with bio cells, Eidos wants the recharge mechanic to encourage using augs more liberally
-New remote hack augmentation allows Jensen to activate shortcuts through areas to pass enemies
-No plan for Human Revolution saves to carry over, but Eidos is planning for a franchise now, want to expand further after HR's success
-No plans for a Deus Ex MMO
-Eidos noted fans who played stealthily enjoyed the game more so spent several years iterating on gunplay
-Mankind Divided's moment-to-moment action plays out like a series of set-piece moments, a 'remarkable feat' considering nothing is scripted
-Jensen can adjust his weapons at any point mid-battle, changing ammo type, firing pattern, scopes, etc
-Some enemies have external tech like exoskeletons and mechs to combat Jensen
-Variety of enemies have a diversity of weapons, augments, or other high-tech combat tools, some have high-jump abilities, etc
-Focused on making A.I. more aggressive, flanking, etc
-Certain elements of the environment now react to combat

Gameinformer - Art Director Shows Us The Hidden World Of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
During our last day at Eidos Montreal, we sat down with Martin Dubeau, the art director for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. We sorted through the screens and pieces of concept art that we’d be getting for our magazine and online coverage, and he provided context for everything we were seeing. Rather than let his insights go to waste, we’re sharing them with you today. Read on for additional details on the environments, people, and symbolism that you might not otherwise have known from simply looking at the pictures.

Eight ways Deus Ex could be augmented in Mankind Divided

It’s a little late to be shouting advice across the ocean at Eidos Montreal - the portentous Mankind Divided announcement trailer is out there, embraced by a feverish public like Ambrosia vaccine. The sequel’s city hubs have been chosen, fictitious emails written, and crates long since placed.

Here, then, are eight means by which Eidos Montreal might have already made the series Deus Sexier than it already is. Silvery fingers crossed.

I did not want to pose with repost that much. Hence no tags.

I did just complete MD based work which doesn't look very alike with official art. And I feel silly .. where are all artists I feel spamming.

Oh and yes, it started as work based on Denton, somehow it ended up being Jensen. I blame trailer.

An artist should never feel silly and you ARE talented.
Neither are you spamming. You are sharing your talent.
But I can remove the image tags if you like?

If it is not much trouble for you to do so.

I suppose more art will pop up, when more material gets published. Probably people just lurked back to previous games. On DeviantArt DE club few MD works have surfaced.

There's few more people I can steal from trailer still.

If you are on Club DX on DA, then what is your excuse not to have yours here? And glad to hear you find it 'interesting'. Will probably turn this speed-paint into something proper eventually. I like the visuals of the character - he deserves more than 45 minutes of my time.

Hey mechs, I was watching the trailer for Mankind Divided and overlapped it with I Am Machine by Three Days Grace in my head. Then I decided to put both together and it's so fitting I would say it's a conspiracy by Eidos Montreal. Even when the augmented guy gets his ass kicked by riot police and the moment of his eye's close-up is when the song goes "I keep my eyes wide open!"

Damn. Look at how little gold there is in that second picture. The other two kind of ruin it for me, but I like that stark bluish white.
Speed up the accelerating returns, 'cause carbon doesn’t work, I want to evolve and operate at terahertz.
