Noted Suggestions Version 2 & Implemented Suggestions

    - Punish leavers!!!! -20 min ban at least - (I know I know, it's beta, but when it goes to open beta or release there are going to be reset the players stats?).
    - Spectator mode. It's very important for a competitive game I think
    - Noscam is a good idea, but need some improvement. It's terrible now. (need option to select player which one want to see, and locked cam! - if i want to see how he played- .)
    - At the options, we need an option to turn off mouse smoothing.
    - At the options, there is a ?bug?. I can't choice better resolution than my desktop resolution. (I have 1680x1050 desktop res., and wanted to choice 1920x1200)

My suggestions and apologies if they have already been discussed.

~Tyrant's Jump ability needs better aiming.

~I disagree that humans don't need melee weapons. For one, they have them on their model!! Two, you can't always shake vampires off and I would like an ability that would melee and make vampires bleed. At the least make a melee specialist class with weaker range to complete the Human team variety. You could even do a Vampire class with medium range attacks, like one that uses a chain with blades or other nasty stuff. I just want them for variety in play. There are lots of other ways of doing these things. Mmm the flavor of a melee vampire hunter.

Greetings. I've been a fan of Legacy of Kain series since Soul Reaver 1. I was eager to try Nosgoth, being there have been no games since Legacy of Kain: Defiance, on PS2. I admit, I don't normally play PVP, and usually despise it since I did it in, yes, WoW. I don't want the PVP element of this game destroyed, as I'd love to dabble in killing others, but I'd worship you like a god if you add a story mode, like of Skyrim at least, and be able to walk among Nosgoth once more. I can only imagine what the Lake of the Dead would look now.

I hope you take it into consideration after the prime game is made. You players can flame me all you want, I won't be logged to hear that crap, as for the Company, I await greatness...

Edit: Btw, IF you implement Story Mode, the Private Server idea was briliant. I am a big time mod user, not exactly cheating, but I crave power, as well as diversity and custumization, as long as I dont cheat your store.

Examples in Skyrim, I play as highly ranked characters from games/movies: The Lich King, Witch King of Angmar, Sleyvas from Balders Gate: Dark Alliance I and II, Seymour from FFX, Raziel, etc. I can make my own server to give peace to casual players, and inv my friends if I get them to join. I am willing to compromise if neccessary, maybe even add mods through your system and have it approved, and rated for fair play. Ideas are welcome.

Idk how steam profiles are looked up, and if you can see the mods used, but on steam community's side of my skyrim mods, I have 4-5 pages. Unfortunately the more, higher memory ones, like the armor of the Lich King are on Nexus. You are welcome to view them. There are plenty of god/cheat items I could use, but I dont. I still love challenge. One hit kills...no dmg or dying...it gets old quickly. very quickly.

    1. Humans are already pretty strong. In games with experienced players, more often than not humans will have the upper hand. They don't need any further improvements. If you let a vampire come close to you, then that's your mistake. But even in close range humans can out-damage vampires if they use their abilities correctly.

    2. There already is a way to stop a Sentinel from grabbing you. Throw a bola at him, it will make him fall to the ground and be easy prey. There are also other abilities that will lead to a Sentinel falling to the ground. Just improve your aim.

Sorry to say, but I don't think you know what you're talking about. When a team of Vamps completely destroy a human team and then that same human team becomes vamps and destroys the humans clearly shows Vamps are OP. A half decent player can easily destroy a human player because of how strong the attacks are. Vamps need to be nerfed. So far out of the 40 games I've played, I have only seen 2 or 3 Vamp teams lose. That clearly shows there's issues with the class type.

Ahm, no. Half a decent player get shot down by half a decent human(s). By the time people know to shoot their guns, the tide turns pretty quickly. That comes from a sample of 1700+ games

Would it be possible to implement the final scores/ player scores next to the recent and archived games for NosCam? I think that the system has some very good potential there, but more information is required, both prior and during the viewing, ie; incorporation of the scoreboard into the replay (or at least allowing the TTAB button to be pressed to view the scoreboard).

While players are unable to play before the round during the countdown, it would be cool to see model animations like those in skin preview.

If party leader leaves the lobby all party leaves as well instead of everyone leaving seperately and then having to be reinvited

I love playing this game with a controller. However the only downside to this is that when playing a vampire, the camera is free roam(not sure if that's what u call it). This makes it very hard to hit anything with melee attacks as the camera spins around your character if your not careful. I would like to suggest that the camera style for controllers be changed to the fixed vamp camera like Kb/m has. Or at least give us the option to change camera styles. At the moment I feel like controller players have a disadvantage when playing vamps. ( I do at least lol)

After playing in the Beta for a bit i feel i can put up some suggestions on the gameplay, which is my biggest problem.

    1. Odd controls. Honestly some of the controls for characters like Hunter and Reaver aren't that bad. A little tweaking to make them easier to reach and remember and they're golden! But guys like Tyrant are just....kinda wrong. I've spent nearly 40 minutes trying to get through his tutorial and i just gave up! Really how do i get out of the hallway if the guy can't jump?! And if he has some other way to get out, then what is it? Cause i can't find it! Also, maybe make a universal key binding setting? So players can choose through who they want to play as without too much difficulty.

    2. Unrealistic tutorials. When i played through the tutorial i thought i was learning enough to go at least 1 minute in match before i died the first time. I was so not prepared for my first match when it actually came up. I think a better way to teach new players should involve a tutorial match between you/ your AI team vs an opponent AI team. I think that'll get people more into the style of gameplay and let them know what to expect.

    3. No story. Now, normally in a game made entirely of PvP gaming i don't care too much about story (7/10 in my book.) But considering this game is part of the Soul Reaver series (which has like 5 games of backstory and plot) i think there should actually be a little history and backstory in the game. There's so much they can build on! It feels like kind of a waste, especially for any fans of the Soul Reaver series who were hoping for more. Maybe a closer look at the Human organizations these classes come from and the Vampire clans that they're fighting. I mean they're supposedly fighting against slavery from the Vampires, so something must have happened there and i want to know what!

    4. LAG!....This is something i noticed the first second i started playing. THE GAME HAS LAG. It's not too bad, just a little freezing here and there, but it's enough to be noticeable and more then enough to frustrate me. I know it's not my computer considering i have an ASUS and games that have way higher system requirements then this, so i know the games doing it.And it takes me out a bit. I'm just trying to click to a new screen and i can't because the game decided to freeze for a minute or two and i have to wait for it to let me have control again.

    1) The tyrant can only jump with the Jump ability. But he can always climb which should get you anywhere you might otherwise jump. Mind, I never played the tutorials so I'm not sure what specific obstacle you face there. The controls though...You got your movement, your mouse buttons, Q and F, space, shift, and X and E as context keys only...Not too much to remember, given that movement is obvious and RMB, Q and F are on-screen during matches. o.o

    2) The tutorials are primarily meant to teach controls, not strategy and winning. That's what the New Recruit lobbies are for, and you have free access to those until level 15. Play on and you'll adjust.

    3) All the story is in the dev team's blog. Every class and every map has its own lore, with new entries being created as new things are added. It's not Soul Reaver levels of epic script and dialogue (because it's a multiplayer deathmatch game, not a single-player epic) but it's still some great stuff that doesn't even contradict the series. (The gist of the war though is: After chucking Raziel into the Abyss, Kain went hopping through time in the Chronoplast. In his absence, his petty 'sons' fell to backstabbing and civil war...This gave the humans an opportunity to rally themselves for a rebellion, and that's where Nosgoth begins.)

3b) Vampire classes also come with 'evolved' skins unlocked when the class reaches level 25. These skins represent a mid-point between their Nosgoth-era forms and Soul Reaver-era devolved states. As a bonus, the skins (thus far) have all had input from long-time Legacy of Kain artist Daniel Cabuco. It's a nice visual touch that hints at the story as well.

    4) Have you tried fiddling with video options or anything? I always got lag as a Sentinel in Sommerdamm and that fixed it. There's also a thread on FPS optimization somewhere around here...There's also things like ping to consider. (Note: I have exactly zero clue what 'ping' is so that previous bit may mean nothing. XD I just see it mentioned frequently in talk of lag.)

I'd be willing to bet that the total text of Nosgoth's story blogs rivals the length of Soul Reaver's script at this point. While Nosgoth doesn't have the resources tor making cutsenes, I see no reason not to incorporate into the game's frontend in some form even if it's just the text and some pictures. Having it as an additional reward for leveling up and earning achievements would make things interesting too.

Would it be possible to have perks awarded after matches that last 24 hours automatically deleted from the inventory when they expire?

Auto-deletion of things upon expiration is something I've been after since alpha. It's just...Logical. The thing's expired so toss it. I mean, it's easy enough to do it manually so it's a low-priority thing in any case...But still.

    @Vampmaster: Hm...

    Suggestion!

Currently, you log in. You click Play. You got the Lobbies and the Noscam. Add a new button, call it Theater or Lore or Story or whatever (Chronoplast if you want to be reference-y, or some new thing to enrich the background - did vampires keep records?). Convert (if I may vastly over-simplify the actual process for a moment) the blog posts into full, proper, awesome cinematics and stash them there for anytime viewing pleasure.

Easier but significantly less exciting option: Do the same thing but just have blog text and pictures like you said. Really, I just want to put a real form to the new characters they've invented in the clan backstories.

I think , it would be nice to create smth like general chat for any current server. I mean "General EU chat" "General US East chat" and others... not only in-lobby chat.

There's chat in the lobby and chat in the game. And Steam chat if you just want to rabble on with other Nosgoth friends. Where else would you need it?

  19. #69
I mean fully ingame chat, not just lobby. To cooperate players finding the game they need. Steam chat seems too uncomfortable for me (and for most people , I think) in reason it's cause to turn of game window. Pre-lobby chat that appears on the screen when u just enter the client, would be nice most.

Finding the game you need is as simple as joining a lobby whereupon the matchmaking system will put you into a game...

But it couldn't hurt so why not.

I was wondering if any sort of special effects were planned for the Founder weapons? I love my spectral weapons and their effects. It would be cool to see something for those down the line.

    'Humans Auto-Vault Over Small Obstacles,

Also, humans could do a safe fall when sprinting, like you do a small roll at the bottom of the fall, negating the short root you get. But making humans sprint feel a lot more special mechanic wise in general would be nice.

-People that leave mid or pre game completely destroy the rest of the game unless someone joins quickly after. People that leave need some sort of punishment.
-An alternative to this would be having anyone in the matchmaking pool be put into games with unbalanced teams with the greater the unbalance the higher priority in the queue.
-What I have seen multiple times in game is when someone leaves, someone on the other team will afk until someone joins or the game ends and at the end of each game everyone complains about how the people that leave ruin the game for everyone else.
-This is an obvious reoccurring problem that needs attention.

idk if this has been mentioned before as im not reading through all the posts.

every free to play game should be able to add friends ingame. i cannot add or play with friends because this game does that through steam... and in order to add friends in steam you have to BUY a game, or the game youre playing has to have a built in add friend mechanic.

so... make an add friend that doesnt use the steam program to do it.
