They actually chose your questions for the community Q&A. Have a look. But anyway, yes, there will be Steam trading cards - six of them.

Adding our latest official Q&A session answers:

    1) A Big House: Guardian of Light featured plenty of side challenges for the player to complete throughout a level (e.g. Kill 20 spiders). Does Osiris also include additional objectives like that for the player?

    2) A Big House: Where did you gather inspiration for Lara's tomb raiding nemesis, Carter, and can we expect to see him in future (hopefully) Lara Croft titles?

    3) Tainanlctr: Will there be Steam trading cards?

    4) Tainanlctr: Will multiplayer servers ping locally, such as in Brazil?

    5) RyanCroftsLara: What made you decide to bring back Keeley Hawes as Lara's voice instead of Ludington?

    6) AlexWeiss: What was the process of deciding which qualities of the classic Lara Croft to mix with the qualities of the reboot Lara Croft like?

    7) Farron: If playing local multiplayer on PS4, will you allow all logged in players to receive trophies?

    8) Danielsun: Question: Does the multiplayer incorporate matchmaking and does it allow drop in and drop out?

    9) Eros: Will all characters get bonus costumes in Temple of Osiris, not just Lara?

I'm not sure if that will be answered here, but you are more than welcome to participate in a LIVE Q&A this Tuesday (25th) and ask Scot Amos himself

So awesome. Thanks for enabling this! Its annoying when you play multi-player games and other players have met the conditions of the trophy but aren't rewarded with one.

All doubts about this are now out the window. Definitely getting the gold edition and am so glad Keeley is back!

From our live forum Q&A session with Scot Amos:

Q: I've seen that in the selection screen for weapons and amulets and such there's a selection of upper body clothing pieces, but in all the demo videos I've never seen it being selected. One question has been burning in my mind ever since: are the selectable clothing pieces only there for aesthetic purposes or do they influence the game in some other way as well, such as granting bonusses?
A: We're thrilled to be bringing Lara back into classic-arcade action so it's great to hear you're excited for it too! As for clothing... the custom costumes are aesthetic based, but, all of the rings and amulets are effects based which can influence your individual abilities OR your team's overall shared abilities; so we have a bit of both!

Q: Any chance we'll see Totec or any other legacy character as unlockable or downloadable skin packs?
A: It's certainly been internally discussed, but we haven't yet stated what any future add-ons we may have as throw-back to legacy characters. We'd love to hear what pieces you'd all like to see as such future add-ons for us to consider!

Q: With regards to the multiple outfits in Osiris, is it possible for the game to be played with characters wearing different outfits? e.g. Lara wearing the DX outfit, Carter wearing the Legend outfit and so on...
A: We've designed the system as flexibly as possible so you can have each player in a custom style they own.

Q: Can you share a few details about community-centric features in LCTOO? In particular the community chest?
A: Since we have such an active and awesome community we've added a new "Community Challenges" system to LCTOO. As often as weekly once the game launches, we'll put up challenges ranging from gather a certain amount of things to kill a certain number of a specific enemy type with specific weapons that everyone who's playing contributes to as they play! In this way, the community as a whole is working towards a reward that everyone gets to share in - such as gems or gear/weapon unlocks. IF the community succeeds at the challenge in the given timeframe, then they can each go to a special gold-chest in the center of the overworld we call the Community Chest where they can claim their hard earned prize! These challenges will ebb and flow as players join the game so we can tailor the challenges... and even unlock a few surprise challenges and custom events long after the game first comes out!

Q: How much research went into the lore, and does LCTOO stays true to said lore or were some things changed for this game?
A: The Osiris Myth has many variations and depending on which sources we looked at, there are all sorts of details and twists and turns. For us, we have a few folks that even at the end of Guardian of Light started researching Egypt and looking for an angle on a classic myth Lara hadn't explored yet. When we started Temple of Osiris we had folks here at the studio who'd already done so much research and we had tons of Egyptian Mythology books here that we could reference for how to retell this tale in a unique way built for a lighthearted retelling of this myth, but as a prophecy that Lara now got to be part of bringing to fruition. Certainly all of the key characters and basic touchstones are steeped in the broadly accepted myth; but we did take our own poetic license to make the environment suitably Croft-like in nature to have traps, puzzles, tombs, and a place for Lara to find new teammates!

Q: How does the Overworld work? Is the game more linear or open for exploration? And how does the weather system factor in to what order you can explore
A: he Overworld is large, raised Shrine hidden for centuries in a mountainous area of Egypt. This area is the outdoor connective tissue that links the Temple of Osiris (the giant pyramid) with the rest of the tombs and other areas to explore that are each themed to a particular god from the Myth. Each god has a certain element of power they control - such as day/night, drought/rain, or fire/ice. The weather and world state changes affect where you can explore in this overworld, what rewards you can find, and even influence the various enemy types who spawn and it changes dynamically as the game and story progresses!

Q: Would it at all be possible for you in the future, to create & release a level editor of sorts for the community to make and share their own levels?
A: Love the idea, that type of user-generated-content has been asked about before. We'd love to hear from our community on this so we can take it into account for our future plans.

Q: Do you see this as potentially becoming a side-series for Tomb Raider or will it most likely remain as a dualology?
A: While anything is possible, the "LC" side of the brand is set as our classic, arcade Croft version for now where we get to explore the more exotic fantasy aspects of the franchise's roots and have excuses for giant building-size enemies!

Q: The god Set in this game looks a lot like the god Anubis and not so much like Set. Seeing how you did a lot of research on Egyptian mythology I can't believe it was a mistake. Any perticular reason for that?
A: Not a mistake at all... but great noticing the detail! Set's ears are square which they should be based on the old god statues we'd seen in research of various depictions. Definitely lots of similarities between Anubis and Set, but we found enough historic foundation to craft this one be both familiar and still unique to Set vs. the full-on Anubis.

Q: In the "Four Player Co-Op Mayhem" video we see a bit about treasure chests at the ends of tombs. Do treasure chests replace Guardian of Light's challenges, or is there more than one way to get items?
A: There are Challenges and Treasure Chests of all kinds in both the tombs and in the overworld. So at the end of each main tomb there is a treasure room... that you can loot, and then replay the tomb and loot again, etc. In the overworld, you can find chests hidden everywhere and the harder to get to ones have loot that is even more rare. Challenges exist per tomb and in each section of the overworld.

Q: How many customization items are in Osiris, approximately?
A: Let's see... weapons which come in various rarity and some with special powers, as well as rings, as well as amulets... all together it's over 250 different things and growing!

Q: Your last developer diary showed off a couple of TOO's boss fights. How do Osiris' boss fights compare to Guardian of Light's?
A: All of the bosses for LC:TOO were custom built to leverage the mechanics and themes of Lara's new adventure. We wanted to incorporate a strong puzzle element into each boss fight so it wasn't merely a shoot-fest to conquer them but required player ingenuity and in co-op, player collaboration to solve each boss in a different way. We had a dedicated design team per boss fight who would craft an idea on paper, explore, then see if the team could figure it out or take down the boss; and then iterate several times until the right balance of unique mechanics with action felt like it fit into this adventure.

Q: I loved the Challenge Tombs in Guardian of Light. Does Osiris have Challenge Tombs?
A: We, too, loved the Challenge tombs and definitely brought them back in full-force for LC:TOO. Can't wait to hear what you think of them!

Q: Just wondering if these community rewards will be available for "late adopters" of the game, or if you have to be there within the given timeframe to retrieve yours? I understand there's only one chest and everytime a new reward is achieved, it's loot gets replaced, so people who play the game often will get more unique items?
A: That's a great point... some events only last for a few days, for example, and similarly their reward may only be available for a limited time to collect; then it's hidden away again. Other challenges may go on for weeks and once accomplished, their reward is ever-present so anyone can collect it whenever they join into the game down the road. In general, we want to have the reward tied to the event/challenge where possible so active players who are contributing to the community can get the reward quickly; but we also want to give everyone a chance to share in the events and rewards. Some events we will run multiple times at varying intervals so it may be one week in January, then off; then on again in February, etc.

Q: What's the penalty for death if you're having fun trolling each other?
A: You do lose some points upon death so there is a cost that can impact your overall standing at the end of a tomb and will affect certain challenges in specific tombs that require you to NOT die all the way through! But the unseen cost is you will likely repay your 'partner' with the same courtesy so violence provokes violence. In general, we reward co-op play as that's what we're looking for... but we don't stand in the way of players making up their own rules.

Q: Are there also different difficulty settings in the game options?
A: We've built LC:TOO to adjust dynamically based on the number of players playing - so more enemies, tougher challenges that change the puzzles depending on player count, etc. We also have some unique live-challenges players can opt-into once we've activated them ... but we'll talk about that in the future.

    new:

Q: In regards to LCTOO, is there going to be any DLC released such as additional characters, weapons, and so on?

A: While there won't be any additonal characters joining LCTOO, future DLC drops will include Tombs, outfits, weapons, accessories, and more.

Q: Is the pre-order DLC included if you purchase the season pass?

A: Pre-order DLC is not included as part of the season pass, but will be available to purchase in January.

Q: Is the classic Lara Croft skin I've seen screenshots of real?

A: Yes. For a brief period of time after launch future content drops were prematurely made available on the Xbox One version of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, including a DLC tomb and classic Lara skin. We’d hoped to keep the latter a nostalgic surprise for you guys, but now you've had a sneak peek at what’s coming!

As of now, the content has been removed and cannot be downloaded till a later date. The team is still working to refine the post-launch DLC and ensure the new tombs and content bundles are up to the quality you’d expect, so we opted to take the content down rather than release early.

To be clear, however, if you purchased the season pass, you’ll see the Twisted Gears pack again (coming Feb), joined by the Icy Death DLC (dropping in Jan). Each hosts a new tomb, skin, and assortment of weapons and accessories. Sorry for the confusion!

    YES!

Seriously, this is the type of game that allows for further and further tombs/gear down the line, so I'm glad that it will receive such support. Hopefully it will keep us busy up to the launch of Rise of the Tomb Raider.

    Thanks for the update Driber.

Q: Does LCTOO Community Challenge progress update instantly? Or is there a delay?

A: There is a delay time on refreshing due to high server loads. This accounts for periods when progress makes a large jump at once.

    Q: Are Community Challenges platform-specific?

A: Yes, each platform must unlock community challenges individually.

Q: If a Community Challenge isn't successful, will the item be offered again in the future?

A: Yes! We'll make sure to offer a second chance at items should a goal not be reached.

    Updatey time, me thinks.

    Jan 16th:

Q: Could you add in patch the possibility of removing this red ring under the Lara? In GoL it was possible. When I play single, it's better to remove this ring.
A: Scot Amos: "We ended up leaving the color-coding ring on in single player since we allow drop-in co-op from either couch players who join or online players if you’re hosting a game; so for consistency’s sake, it’s always there. However, we listen to our fans so if there’s enough interest for this option we’ll look at the possibility for a future patch."

Q: How can I replay the plot of the game after finishing? Unfortunatly on PS4 I can't see more than one slot for save. When I choose "new game" there is warning, that my saves will be lost. So do I have to rewrite save to play the plot again? Please add in patch more slots for saves!
A: Scot Amos: "Actually, you’re doing the right thing – just choose “NEW GAME” from the main menu and say “yes” to the warning prompt and it will start the story over but NOT reset your character! So again, this does reset your progression and challenges to start fresh, but you keep everything else! Meaning you keep your weapons, rings, amulets, and even gems! So you’ll be ultra-powerful but able to replay the entire storyline. You also get to unlock everything again once you do that. But since you retain your gear, the loot system knows that and as you open more chests it takes that into account so you’ll increase your chances of getting rare loot!"

Q: Will ToO be available in the future for PS3 and X360?
A: "Scot Amos: LCTOO was custom built for PS4/XB1 and PCs as a way to focus the experience to these platforms. As stated before, we listen intensely to our fans which is one reason we made LCTOO in the first place – so we definitely want to hear from them if there’s enough interest to warrant such a thing."

    Jan 23rd:

Q: Do Steam players' efforts count toward the Community Challenges if our save files are stored locally, rather than on the Steam cloud servers?
A: The Steam player’s contributions are counting regardless of whether it’s a local or a cloud save. The only thing that matters is whether the user was connected to the internet when they were playing so that the information makes it to the server.

    [ * * * ]

    Feb 6th:

Q: How do the LCTOO time challenges work? Do deaths and cinematic moments effect the time?
A: The timer pauses during any cinematic moments, or when players don't have control over the game.

Q: Will there be more DLC in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris?
A: LCTOO's second DLC pack just went live, complete with a new tomb, outfit, and accessories. While there are a few special items still reserved as rewards for community challenges, we've released our our planned DLC for the time being.

Q: Will there be a bow in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris?
A: We hadn't thought of that, but it's a fun idea! As we stated above, we've finished our DLC roadmap for the time being, but will keep the suggestion in mind should we revisit DLC in the future.

    [ * * * ]

    Feb 20th:

Q: During the release of rebooted Tomb Raider in 2013, you told fans many times that this was a reboot and a fresh start of the series. So, where does Temple of Osiris fit in? Is Lara from LCTOO the rebooted Lara? Or classic Lara?
A: Currently we have two brands that feature Lara Croft as a character – the Tomb Raider brand, and the Lara Croft brand. Moving forward, any game titled “Tomb Raider” will star the new, rebooted Lara Croft and continue the narrative from our 2013 title. This Lara is also featured in the Dark Horse comics, and Brady Games’ Ten Thousand Immortals.

With the debut of LCTOO, we cemented the Lara Croft brand as a nostalgic tribute to classic Croft and the early Tomb Raider games.

These two brands exist independent of each other, and do not take place in the same timeline. Rebooted Lara will not necessarily “grow up” to be Lara from Temple of Osiris. However, from time to time we may have some content crossovers – such as the Tomb Raider 2013 costume packs in LCTOO.

Q: Will you consider to publish GoL in box edition too? Maybe some dual pack with LCTOO? There is only one box edition of GoL in the world, the German.
A: There are no plans to do so at this time, but we always listen to our fans so if it’s something that is of great interest we’ll consider it.
