    Question print text on fly screen

    How do I have text printed on a flyby screen? Anytime I try to have a text appear during flyby, it doesn't show.

    TRNG, right?

    Put this in the script block of your level:
    Customize= CUST_TEXT_ON_FLY_SCREEN, ENABLED
    If it walks like a duck and if it quacks like a duck, it IS a duck.

    Question

    Okay, I used the command, but the text still won't appear.
    I'm using the flipeffect: Text. Print ExtraNG <&>string on screen for (E) seconds

    should I use this flipeffect for sub-titles?

  6. #6
    I always use trigger F203 because I like the position my texts more precisely than that default positions with that F64 trigger.

    But it should not make a difference as far as I know...

    You did put that script in the correct [Level] section, right?
    If it walks like a duck and if it quacks like a duck, it IS a duck.

    Question

    yes, correct. which flipeffect is F203?

  8. #8
    "Find trigger" in the set trigger type window, type in F203 and you'll see.
    If it walks like a duck and if it quacks like a duck, it IS a duck.

  9. #9
    I typed it in the # box, and it said Not found

  10. #10
    There's a button "find trigger", click on it. And then you put in F203 in the little window that pops up...
    If it walks like a duck and if it quacks like a duck, it IS a duck.

    Question

    OH!!!!

    Okay, do I have to re-position the text to fit the center?

  12. #12
    You can put it where ever you want, using the Parameters= PARAM_PRINT_TEXT, *** command.
    (Find out more about this command in NG-Center.)

    Make F203 point to the Parameters= PARAM_PRINT_TEXT, *** you want to use for the text.
    If it walks like a duck and if it quacks like a duck, it IS a duck.

  13. #13

    Question

    okay, I'll try that.

  14. #14
    nope it still doesn't work, I've got the trigger for F203 has HEAVY triggers, so the flyby cameras can trigger them. I've also pressed "14" in OCB window of the camera (to activate the heavy trigger)

    nothing.

  15. #15
    Instead of using the heavy-trigger, you could also export the trigger(s) and put it/them in the TG in the script.
    Then use an Organizer to time the appearance of the text if it should not appear the moment the flyby starts.
    Trigger that TG/Organizer in the same place as the trigger for the flyby.
    If it walks like a duck and if it quacks like a duck, it IS a duck.

    Question

    WHOA! I'm cool with the TG's but the Organizer. do not know what that is.

  17. #17

    Question

    Okay, Ms.Titak This is what I came up with:

    TriggerGroup= 22, $2000, 203, $124
    TriggerGroup= 23, $2000, 203, $225,
    TriggerGroup= 24, $2000, 203, $326,
    TriggerGroup= 25, $2000, 203, $427,

    Organizer=1, FO_ENABLED, IGNORE, 15, 22, 5, 23, 5, 24, 26, 25

    Oh boy...

    Question

    play, Titak, something's just not right about this. The text still isn't showing, but after the flyby ended the text decides to show. what the heck?
