Exclamation Arkham Asylum will not run at all.....HELP!

A few weeks ago, I purchased Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition from Steam. Unfortunately, whenever I try to run the game, this error pops up:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

    For example:

    < jitDebugging="true" />

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I haven't gotten the game to work at all because of this error, even after re-installing it. I am having the same problem with Arkham City's GOTY Edition as well. But every other game I have purchased from Steam (including the Demo of Arkham Asylum) works perfectly fine....In addition, says I should be able to run the game because my computer meets the minimum system requirements....and yet it still doesn't work...

Anybody want to help me figure this one out? I know I'm not the only one who has had this problem, and I would love it if I could actually play the games I paid for a month ago (I bought this on 11/26/2012).....

    Here are my Computer Specs:

Computer: HP TouchSmart IQ526 (I wanna say 2009?)
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium Edition Service Pack 2 (build 6002), 64-bit
    Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T6600 @ 2.20GHz
    CPU Speed: 2.2 GHz
    Memory (RAM): 4.1 GB
Video Card: NCIDIA GeForce 9300M GS

Thanks in advance, and Happy Holidays! Stay Frosty!

System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D, Version=1.0.2902.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. Access is denied.
This part of the error claims access to certain file(s) is denied. Try running Steam and Batman: Arkham Asylum as Administrator (Right Click -> Run As Administrator) and see if the game then plays.

Make sure you disable any sandboxing or security software like Norton, COMODO Security, Sandboxie, GeSWall etc. as one of those may also be the culprit. You may need to disable UAC as another potential solution.

P.S. I'm not one of the developers, just a humble gamer who spent a lot of time making games work under WINE before switching back to DRM-infested Windows (and regretting it, give me back Linux, NOW!).
