As always, Bravo , Thank You for another amazing and informative video, and I can't wait to see the next one. I am really looking forward to the next one, that talks about the Elder God.

Great videos; keep them coming. They make me want to go back and replay all of these games. Hopefully it'll get others who know nothing about the series to go check the games out.

I want to say politely... that I don't think these videos are very helpful. Especially with the most recent they are fairly cogently ordered and structured, and the audio balancing is nice. Buuuut out of the context of the narrative structure of the games the individual audio and video clips won't mean much to someone NOT versed in the lore already. So for us it's a nice bit of nostalgia, but for a novice it's just as cryptic as it can get.

You might want to consider adding your own voice overs to the videos. Add some elaboration and explanation of the greater concepts.

I've actually had a few new fans say that these videos have made them interested in the lore of the series and wanted to know more. That's the ultimate goal of these videos. Its essentially a crash course on various topics within the overarching lore of the series. 'Cryptic' is exactly the tone I was aiming for in the first place. I'm explaining elements to them but leaving enough mystery for them to WANT to go and play the games themselves. My being vague in a few areas was done quite deliberately. They wanna know more, they wanna know the proper context for the elements I'm presenting - they gotta go play them.

What I am considering VA clips for it when I get to the clans - which will be when all the clans are presented as Classes in Nosgoth (so hurry up already with that Pysonix!)

I love all of your videos CountEyokir. I'm a LoK fan since the first Soul Reaver and I enjoy every bit of what I can see about this universe, especially when it's brilliantly done like you did. Keep the videos coming

Another awesome video very well done indeed but damn that pesky squiddy!

  14. #39
Very well done! I'm actually working on a similar series that is going to be in-depth describing the events in the Legacy of Kain series and the ensuing paradoxes. Now that I think about it, Nosgoth probably only exists in a timeline that no longer happens as of the events of Defiance.

The events of Nosgoth indeed take place in the second timeline (where SR1 took place) and this timeline was later 'reshuffled' and we're now on the fourth timeline in the LoK narrative. However previous developers had confirmed that the Soul Reaver era (which counted as everything from the raising of the lieutenants onwards including the time period Nosgoth is set in) was not altered by the later paradoxes. So it's very likely that the events of Nosgoth occurred in both the third and fourth timelines as well.

    Excellent! I've loved it!

Contributing a little bit with the topic, here's a long version, The Pillars cinematic from SR2, that it will explain almost all the story until then, hope you like! n.n

Some other important cinematics from SR2!

    Raziel meets Janos Audron:

    Janos is slain:

    Raziel grabs the Reaver:

The Full Circle: (probably the most important one)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNLWrGKOyFk
(this one, as the title says, is subtitled in spanish, but all the voices are in english... it was the most complete cinematic I found about this crucial and epic moment this event creates a paradox and the story-line is rebuilt, allowing the occurrance of Blood Omen 2*)

*By The Way, in Blood Omen 2 there's a huge mistake commited by the developers and guionists: Vorador stills alive! :O Some time after the game went out, to correct this mistake, the ex-Eidos Interactive called Amy Henning to fix it, and, the final of Soul Reaver 2 was the elegant way she solved the dilemma! I thought it could be an interest fact for any fan of LoK/Nosgoth! n.n)

Hope you enjoy all these very epic cinematics!

Nice videos, but as someone already mention i dont think someone who doesnt know the lore could really appreciate them.

For somoone who doesnt know the lore,i would suggest to read the "Lore Guide" made long time ago by a guy called LOKfanatic ,it basically tell you all that happenedd in the games, its like a book.
i never play blood omen 1 and 2 ,but like i play soul reaver 1 and 2 and defiance and this guide allow me to know the things i didnt know, even told me some things i didnt knew from or understand from the other games i did play.
So i recommend for everyone who played or not the games to read it,its really good

I've actually had those new to the Lok Lore say to me that not only did it explain what it needed to explain but it got them interested for more. So mission accomplished as far as I can tell

    @CountEyokir

Thanks for making and posting those videos. I love Nosgoth, but as a person that's not familiar with the universe and its lore the videos were very helpful in understanding background and getting to know the characters. Keep up the good work!

Short and sweet - Consider this, Meet the 'insert class name here' of Nosgoth although with a lot more emphasis on lore
