1080p PS3 option?

    1080p PS3 option?

I know this game won't have 1080p, but why not give players the option?
My 42" TV has a native 1080p resolution and 720p does not look as nice. I tried this with GT5, it looks a lot nicer in 1080p than in 720p which has better AA.

I would like to have a menu option in Deus Ex to have 1080p output with choices of less detail or less AA or some other option reduction to allow the game to run at 1080p 60fps.
    Since 2006 I have had a 1080p PS3 and a 1080p TV, I shouldn't be seeing games in 720p only any more in 2011.
Some may prefer it others not. Why not the option?

A little too late don't you think?

Anyway, there are hardware restrictions which does prevent it from being customisable as I would think the graphic limitations are already being met therefore reducing the AA slightly and allowing other intense processes is not an option.

If you want options/freedom/choice then consoles are not the way to go.
Yes siree, the excitement never ends.

because the hardware just can´t take it.
And you can´t choose less AA because there is no AA.

I know it sucks man, but that´s the only answer. They market it as a 1080p console while in fact you only get 1080p with small games like fat princess or pixeljunk shooter (fun games by the way) or watching a blu/ray movie.

There is no AA in Deus Ex? surely not, there must be quite high levels of AA.

As I have said 1080p features in the massively widespread game GT5 which also runs in 60fps at 1080p(1280x1080 native upscaled to 1920x1080) and on top of that it has 2xQAA + 2xTAA. At 720p (1280x720 native) it has 4xMSAA +2xTAA.

Did Metal Gear 4 not run in 1080p as well? I can't remember if that was upscaled or not.. I played it on a 40" 1080p TV when I first got it, but then I moved my PS3 into my room and the TV there is only 720p. Not that it looked any less incredible on that one mind you..

No, according to this list MG4 ran at 1024x768,720p (2xAA, temporal) but could be up-scaled.
