New Lara statue on the way!

Check out this awesome new Lara statue from Sideshow called Snow Day. It's a real beauty.

The Exclusive edition of the Lara Croft statue will be priced at $259.99 ( ) and will include a print of the design artwork created by Adam Hughes, while the regular edition, without the print, will be priced at $249.99. Pre-orders will be opening this week, we'll pass on the links as and when.

    jesus christ!!!!!

question : i know im being picky but why don't we ever get to see what the price is in Sterling?

    that said that looks marvellous

Also Keir i was wondering could you answer an off topic question?

Will we ever see the classic TR titles so from TR1 - TR AOD on XBLA and PS store in europe? they apparently have them all in USA which is ironic as those games were all developed and published by British teams lol

    Looks awesome!!!

Glad I did a search as I almost posted this in the GD forum.
Kotaku have also run the story today: http://kotaku.com/5512214/even-lara-...ves-a-snow-day

First there was the art book for $110 & now a statue for freaking $250!!! This is starting to get annoying. Why don't Eidos start commissioning products for the masses like they used to in the glory days & not just for the handful of ultra hardcore collectors?!?!

She doesn't look like Lara at all to me. Maybe her back side yes but the face ... weird.

Am I the only who thinks it's naff, like every staute they make?

Then again I'm the kind of male thats like a kid when it comes to technology, but throw statues that cost way more than they probably cost to make in my face, I will not be interested... Now, if it was a robot lara then that would be a different kettle of fish!

Her expression makes me think she's thinking - "see your wallet? I just stole it!"

Wow! *blinks* That looks stunning! I love the drawing as well. I love playing that Nepal level in Legend *daydreams*
This is actually the prettiest Lara figure I've seen so far. The only point of concern is the map, it looks like it's might be easy to damage.

Going back a few posts. I miss Larazade too. I don't have any of the bottles but I do have the stickers from Tomb Raider 3 that I got from a cereal box. I remember getting those *daydreams again*

    Probably.

Some people might not like the face or something else, but "naff"?
The thing about Canadians is, they are very friendly people. But give them a hockey stick and they'll kill you.

I'm sorry, its a word my annoyingly (spelt right) small sister likes to shout about when I see her and thanks to her its a word I can't stop using as its stuck in my head! But, by 'naff' I do mean the faces (which I probably should have put before) cause they always look... weird?

Then again I think anythings 'not great' if it costs that much Unless its robot lara

The statue is amazingly detailed. I looks that the designers were inspired by Underworld Lara, which is a good thing. Still, I wouldn't pay so much for a figure.
Keir, I smell a competition ahead.

The new staue looks fantastic, but it does not come close to the hand painted resin figure (400mm) that they released at the same time as TR3. In fact, I have just checked the merchandise brochure in the TR3 box & it cost a grand total of £34.99!!!

All things 'Tomb Raider' were just so 'right' back in the day...Oh, the memories

i just don't know why they cannot make a Lara Croft statue that gets the face right, i have seen many and none of them have ever gotten the face right its always wrong in some way or another

in this case she has a very square head

I said it at TRF, and I'll say it here. I think that statue is one of the most gorgeous pieces of Raider merch ever. It's amazing.
so happy i could die, and its alright.

I think it's great. all that detail, and Lara actually looks very elegant. It's interesting how people bring up 'the right face' when Lara has had a few face changes. So what is the right face? It's very obviously Lara, that's what matters.

Plus complaining about why isn't it cheap like the old days? Well price has gone up on everything since then. It's expensive but what i've come to expect really.

What is the map made of though?

The price is a little shocking. She looks nice and the details are great but I think it’s unusual to not see her in an "action pose". I don’t really see Lara sitting there.

  24. #24
I think for once Adam Hughes (Who did the covers for the Tomb Raider Comics) wanted to have a nice explorer pose rather than action. Nice, and I'm betting it's well worth the price.
