I was actually thinking from Kane's point of view ...
But that will mean creating gameplay features Exclusively for co-op mode ! unthinkable !...

    - "You think you can kill me?" is the only trailer in the franchise to use a footage from the Fragile Alliance mode in a Campaign centered trailer.

    - With the exception of Adam's wife, all the female characters in the franchise (Yoko, Jenny, Shangsi's daughter and Xiu) weared a 'white' coloured clothing. The colour white is a recurring symbolism in IO Interactive's work, which bears a resemblance to film director Michael Mann's tendency of using colours to define the mood and state of mind of his characters.

    - Speaking of Mann, Dog Days' use of jumpcut editing throughout the cutscene may or may not be a nod to Mann's 1980s thriller, "Manhunter", which uses the jumpcut editing technique, especially during the film's climax.

Interestingly (and Sadly), during the shootouts scenes in Dog Days' trailer jumpcuts occurred, but never in-game.

    - More copy-paste from Dead Men to Dog Days:
the First character to die in both games had no 'proper' names of their own: the Vaultbreaker and Shangsi's Daughter.
Meanwhile the name of the Last antagonist to die in both games starts with the letter 'S' : Shelly and Shangsi.
And finally, the first and last of these characters to die are somewhat 'related' : the Vaultbreaker and Shelly were Kane's "old friends", while Shangsi's Daughter and Shangsi himself are basically father and daughter.

In a interesting perspective, Kane killed Shangsi's Daughter and yet denies being responsible, which could be viewed as a parallelism as to how he ruined his own daughter Jenny's life and fails (as far as we know) to acknowledge that it is his fault.
Lynch in turn kills Shangsi, the father, the businessman, the corrupt/devil figure in a suit... might as well say it, that was suppose to be Kane, and Lynch's conviction that he's the source of all his misery

But at this point, you all know that the unhinged fan is pushing it.

I kinda noticed this too. I'd love to say that someone at IOInteractive *planned* this out, but I think the reality is that IO has a bunch stock outfits/clothing textures that they love to use over and over.

and just to confirm your point, the situation is somewhat reversed in the K&L graphic novels. A majority of the women seem to be wearing black... and Kane & Lynch are wearing loose light colored clothing. Weird.

This might be a coincidence but I was watching Scarface again recently and near the end Tony Montana screams "You think you can take me? I'll take you all to hell!" and it somehow reminded me of Lynch's "You think you can kill me?"-line (*). It could be my imagination playing tricks on me once again but I think Lynch also says something along the lines of "I'll take 'em all to hell!" somewhere during Dog Days' single player campaign.

(*) You think you can kill me? trailer.

If I'm wrong then I'm wrong and I'll go back to counting bowling balls again. Like a good dog.

Now that i think about it... both Shangsi's daughter and Xiu were wearing a white tank top, weren't they ?...
Like... whatever the hell Lynch and Slash were wearing too, yeah ?...

In any case the use of the white colour goes as far back as the creation of IO Interactive itself... their logo was white !...
Then it was used on the cover of the three first Hitman games, Freedom Fighters, and of course Dead Men...
White was also used prominently during 'death' sequences in Hitman games and Dead Men's adrenaline/audio flashback moments...

Hell, the place where 47 kills his last father was IN a White Room... litterally...

As for the whole "i'll take them all for a breakfast in hell" macho lines... ... it may or may not be a nod, again, just like half of the trivias in here we don't know if it were deliberate references or just moments of sheer unbelievable coincidences...

So might as well roll all your balls, ain't no one's gonna look at it anywya...

Except me and the hamsters ...

I can't prove this but I'm pretty sure there are cockroaches crawling around in Lynch's apartment building. This may or may not be a nod to Scarface as well.

Lynch's apartment truly makes no sense whatsoever ...

Sixteen pair of sneakers by the doorstep ? ...
    No bathroom ? ...
    No pills ? ...
No video game console ? ...
NO COMPUTER ? IN CHINA ?!! ASIAN LAND !!!! IMPFUCPOSSIBLE ...

But now you're saying there's a cockroach instead of any ounce of logic ? ...

What is this ? a nod to Roman's big cockroaches in Grand Theft Auto IV ? ...

I noticed that too. It's strange because in the launch trailer he's clearly taking a piss. Perhaps he was using a neighbor's bathroom?

This further proves that ALL the events of Dog Days took place only in Lynch's mind , which perfectly explains why it was such a lacklusting experience , and therefore , nothing is real ...

    Cool

A bit more useless information that i already known it for some time , but then always forget to mention it here ...

    Arcade & Fragile Alliance maps

    Financial
    - The 'goons' that you have to kill in the start of the level are actually modeled after the 'mercenaries' you were playing as in Dead Men's fragile alliance. The fact that Financial was the first map shown to public, as well as being the map featured in the Demo, this can be seen as IO's way of introducing the Expats: they're a bunch of old men who beat the out of the young mercs you played as years ago.

    - Just like how we previously mentioned that the name of the Jewlery store pronounced just like how you would pronounce 'Xiu', there is also a road sign that sounds just like 'Shangsi'.

    Subway
    - There are actually Two posters that show Mini Ninjas: the first is the one to your left right as the map begins, the poster shows three of the ninja protagonists sitting by their fireplace; the second is a much bigger billboard located to the left of the blown up wall, it seems to be an advertisement for a new television set, with the orange fox gazing upon the plasma screen showing Hiro fishing on his hat-boat. This second poster can be easily missed considering how most players would just run towards the blown out wall and get the loot, rather than to look back at the scenery.

    Airport
    - At the start of the level, if you run behind the planes' engine rotor, the camera will then 'shake out' just like when a explosion occurs.

    - You can trigger the swat arrival early by just using the walkways inside the hangar and head directly for the spot where the law enforcement arrives. This may or may not be useful for those who wishes to work as a 'team', where half of the players goes to take the loot, while the other half goes to 'ambush' the cops who were suppose to ambush the players.

    Chapter I: Welcome to Shanghai
    - Towards the end of the track named after this chapter on the soundtrack, one can hear Mona Mur singing "happy birthday to you". Originally Dog Days' european release date was suppose to be August the Twenty Seventh, which would have been indeed, Kane's birthday.

    Chapter VI: A thousand cuts
    - The title of the chapter is named after the form of execution used in China for over a thousand years, known as Slow Slicing, or even Death by a Thousand Cuts.

In this form of execution, the condemned person was killed by using a knife to methodically remove portions of the body over an extended period of time. The term lĂ*ngchĂ* derives from a classical description of ascending a mountain slowly. Lingchi was reserved for crimes viewed as especially severe, such as treason and killing one's parents. The process involved tying the person to be executed to a wooden frame, usually in a public place. The flesh was then cut from the body in multiple slices in a process that was not specified in detail in Chinese law and therefore most likely varied. In later times, opium was sometimes administered either as an act of mercy or as a way of preventing fainting. The punishment worked on three levels: as a form of public humiliation, as a slow and lingering death, and as a punishment after death.
"Lingchi" is, by the way, the pinyin (pronounciation) for 'Slow Slicing' in chinese.

This is all very outrageous , because now it looks as if Someone actually worked in the Symbolism Art and Drama for Dog Days ! ...

    ...

    Wait hold on ...

So in the chinese dub , whenever someone calls Lynch as 'Lynchy' , or just even plain 'Lynch' ... ... ... ... they're spoiling themselves damnit ! ...

    Chapter XI: One way ticket
    - The title of the chapter is an obvious reference at the expression that there is no way back after one's action, usually spoken in a negative way, such as how "you do this and it's a one way ticket to hell, fool!". But what's interesting in this context is that, Lynch and Kane are taking this one way ticket To escape from hell. Basically, wherever they go next, it can't be worst than what they're running away from here, so the expression is used here rather positively. NOW SMILE During the entire end credit ! ...

More Grand Theft Auto Homage ...

I mean it's still a real ing coincidence that Dead Men starts with convoy van bustout , just like how Grand Theft Auto III starts with , and that both games ends by consisting the protagonist of saving a female character and killing one of the antagonist that was fleeing in a aircraft ...
Also , the protagonist ends up killing the female character in both games (alright Kane didn't exactly put a bullet in Jenny's head (the one that begs to get bashed) , but still , it's close enough) ...

And then It Just Happens that the sequel game in both franchises , Vice City and Dog Days , starts with one of the protagonist arriving into a town he's never been there before to oversee some business , and s up not even a day after the protagonist steps into town , and ends up running all over the place with awkward running-animations ...

    Cool

Not to mention that both Dog Days and Vice City had a considerable focus on neon lights...

Gee, i sure wouldn't mind if the next Kane & Lynch takes inspiration from San Andreas in the sense of it being a grand adventurous epic tale, and a timeless masterpiece...

    Anywya, some leftovers...

    - This is IO's last game using the first Glacier engine, started in 2000 with the first Hitman title, lasting a decade with 2010's Dog Days.

    - As of Dog Days, none of IO's games ever took place at one point or another on the continents of Africa or Australia. Interestingly, both are linked to Kane and Lynch respectively: Kane's job was to escort a shipment to Africa, meanwhile the back of Lynch's sweater shows an image of the kangaroo land.

    - Lynch's character model bears a resemblence with the antagonist of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, a mullet headed russian with a preference in shotguns. Also, the antagonist Blood Money is half scarred man, which reminds of Little Brother or Kane to an extent.

Isn't Liam a rapist. I have no proof for this...just the NHS glasses and the res tracksuit bottoms give him a rapist vibe. From that multiplayer trailer hes in he seems kinda awkward.

I have deduced two things as to why Liam possibly wears bright red tracksuits. I mean it's quite amazing lets be honest. It doesn't really blend in with his surroundings you know and makes him look like a .
The first theory is that he's possibly British. Why you ask?.
1- He has what used to be the standard NHS glasses, something only available in Britain.
2- His red tracksuits may be taking on after the British forces in the american
War of independence who wore red to hide the blood and also due to it being the countries colour at the time. Maybe Liams into british history. I mean he has that beige suit jacket often worn by lecturers ... and pedos.
3- Also he appears to be the only Expat to survive the campaign (Dog Days Thapa) and as we know the British guy always survives due to being a yellow toothed weasel :P. (Don't worry Im british)

I have NO idea what Bud's doing. I mean those glasses he wears makes it look like hes blind and he seems quite elderly compared to the others. probably suffers from a napolean complex (Trying to prove he's as good as everyone else to make up for his own insecurities) or possibly he suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (Generally thinks he IS better than everyone else).

Say what happened to Thapa?. Probably chilling in Hawai cursing Kane for not paying him and for having a shoddy hair cut.

  17. #267
Just skimmed through the topic, not sure if its been noted but in blood money after the firstm ission the newspaper mentions kane and lynchs daring escape. Uh the driver of the escape van in KL1 has the same model of a Fragile Alliance character.

All naked women you see in this franchise die (Shangsi's daughter and Xiu along with Yoko?- Retomotos daughter if you count the playboy photos as canon) whereas all naked men survive (Kane, Lynch). This could be linked to some long metaphor about the vulnerability of the women having a correlation with them being nude. I dunno but it's DEFINITELY there!.

Many of the chinese models looks the same, possibly due to the game being from Kane and Lynch view (both being western men) so they see little difference in asian characteristics or because the developers got lazy.
Exposed bellies in China is seen as a very taboo thing and some of Hsings guys have exposed bellies, probably because they are too hardcore to follow traditions.

Apparently when you play chapter 7 of dog days if you take a guy hostage one of the lines the ugy says is loosely translated to "happy to see me". Further supporting the view that K and L are gay. I don't speak chinese so I can't confirm this but it's IOs type of humour.

In the first part of K L 2 when Kane sees Lynch he says something along the lines of can we stop palying gangster now?
This is ironic due to Kane being the one who not only introduced Lynch to gangsterism but also was arguably playing at gangster in K L 1 (Ban robberies etc). Probably something to do with role reversal and what not.

One may then think that the sniper didn't take a shot at the duo because Shangsi wanted to capture them alive, but if that's the case, then why did the legion of soldiers Lynch and Kane encounters minutes later all proceeds to shoot the duo on sight with zero tolerance? So, even after killing Glazer, the sniper could have continued shooting and kill Lynch and Kane, but instead decides to run away.
