    Unhappy PC Demo - Unplayable

When I go to start a new game or play mutiplayer, I get the classic "Application has stopped working" error.

    My Specs:
    ATI Radeon 5770 (x2)
    Intel Core i7 Extreme 975 3.33 GHz
    6 gigs RAM
    Windows 7 64-bit

  2. #2
I have had some problems with the game crashing during multiplayer, but not during single player.

I have horrible performance on all graphics settings even on 800x600 and all options off.

    My specs:
    Quad Q6600 2.4
    GF9800GT 1024mb with 257.21 drivers
    4gb RAM
    Win7 64-bit

I have seen few posts on steam's forums with similar problems on q6600

  4. I also get poor performance with my machine, lowering or raising settings has absolutely no effect positively or negatively on framerates. It's stuck between 30 at worst and 48 at highest unless I point the camera at a wall, and THEN it hits 60.

    Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.33GHz
    GeForce 8800GTX 768MB
    8GB RAM
    Vista 64-bit

If 360s and PS3s can run the game at 60FPS, I should be able to run circles around this game.

Hmm, I get great performance it just crashes sometimes during multiplayer.
    Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ .50GHz
    6140MB RAM
    Vista 64-bit
    GeForce 9800 gt
    Direct x10

30 fps are good. I have between 5 and 10 fps and only with camera at a wall it can get 20-30

Ok, good thread to pass it to developers later. But if you report any bug/crash, do not forget to let 'em know your PC config, DirectX version, video/audio drivers, antivirus software and firewall.

Ok, downloading the PC demo now. Let's see how it plays on my computer...

I'll upload my specs later on.
Ask me about my opinions - They're great

    Some bugs:

    System Info:
    Win 7 x64, ATI Radeon HD 5850

    - Multiplayer randomly quits (middle of the game, during the joining etc.) No crash log, messagebox etc. Generally 2 games out of 10.
    - After crashes settings reset
    - Ranks are not permanently stored (is this because of the demo?)
    - Once as soon as I started the MP game FPS came down to 1-3, I had to restart the game to fix it.
    - Closing takes ages (I think up to 60 seconds). Maybe this is expected but still I can't imagine why closing a session might take that long, and when this happens without actually joining a game it's even more irritating.

Over all great game, well done to all dev/production team. I hope lag, microphone and this sort of minor bugs will be addressed when it's released or in the first patch.

Technically the mp is playable.. but for enjoyment? Not really.
Awful A.I., awful visual glitches, awful lag handling etc.
the cops stutter across the screen, etc.
those obviously aren't "bugs" which can happen only on some pc specifications, it's just the game itself.. which is a shame. still gonna buy it for the sp, but mp is horrible
hopefully we get a lot of fixes once the game is out.. though i doubt it.

When I start K&L2 Demo I get the "Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days application has stopped working" error, whatever setting I use (high, low textures, diff. resolution).

Note* Sorry if it is too long, I just really want to help, and I really like this game. Would really love it to work. Kinda look like a fool getting my friend to download a demo that crashes on them... .

So I was playing it earlier, and absolutely fell in love with the game. The sorta cameraman camera thing took a bit of getting used too, but after that was great. Performance was flawless, AI was a bit crazy sometimes, getting behind me and shooting me from nowhere, but the Check Points usually start at the combat arena's, so its all good.

BUT! After telling anyone and everyone "Hey, this game is great, a 1000x better than the first, amazing graphics, great physics, fun gameplay! Grab the demo! Its awesome!" and I loaded it up, hoping to get rid of that Virus issue, and just put steam on the exceptions list, and went to start it, and got the Error asking me to close the program.

The only thing I did inbetween this morning and now, was update my Catalyst Display Driver (the whole CCC) from 10.6 to 10.7.

I also changed the sound from my speakers in the rear, to my headset in the front (as my headset has much better sound for a game like this), which I don't think would really make a huge issue. both are analog 3.5mm jack, same sound card.

    Anyways, here are my specs:

    -AMD Phenom 2 965 BE 3.4GHz @ 3.6GHz - AMD Cool'n'Quiet Turned On
    -Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H AM2+ (Latest BIOS - F11)
-Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 5850 Vapor-X 1GB GPU is at 765 from 725 Memory is at 1125 from 1050
    -2 x 1GB Mushkin Blue DDR2 800 2x 1GB Kingston HyperX DDR2 1066 (All RAM @ 800MHz)
-Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM sATA 3.0 286GB Free
    -Seagate Barracuda 250GB 7200.11RPM sATA 1.5 86GB Free
    -Corsair 750W 750TX PSU
-Microsoft/Razer Reclusa (latest firmware and drivers)
-Razer Lachesis (latest firmware and drivers)
-Razer Pirahna 2.1 Headset (don't think this would make an issue)
-20" Samsung Syncmaster 206BW 2ms (don't think this would make an issue either)

DX is Fully Up-To-Date, Windows is Fully Up-To-Date
    -Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit

-Saitek X52 Flight Control System and Logitech Driving Force GT Drivers and Peripherals are Plugged in and Running (maybe... a driver Conflict???)

Tried checking the file integrity of the Demo, starts at 67% and quickly finishes.

Tried running all maxed (which I could do in the morning, 110 FPS) and maxed and low this evening, no shine. Tried running an update to Flash for both Firefox and IE8... no shine.

I use ESET Smart Security 4 64-Bit, Steam Directory is on Exception, but the Virus Signature has since been updated.

    hope this helps.

Better to attach/upload to rapidshare.com or anywhere else your dxdiag file.

A small suggestion for those having Graphic issues, Try using older Graphics Drivers IF POSSIBLE. This issue happened to me with K&L1... maybe the same issue has popped up with K&L2... Hopefully not.
No siggie to display... move along...

Single player works very well, no issues; while in multiplayer the game crash during these phases:

    - "searching for players"
    - during the game (just one time)
    - at the end of the match when it's closing the room

    All possible settings at MAX.

    NVidia 8800 GT 512mb
    Windows 7 32 bit Updated
    DX updated
    AVG (free version)
Don't remember the audio driver. I'll check.

The game runs very smooth on 8600 GT at 1280 x 1024,highest settings! I don't have any FPS drops in MP either.

True, I run it at 1600 x 1200 with the 8800 GT, highest settings. Very well optimized.

Thumbs Down Kane & Lynch 2 Demo - Horrible Performance!

I have huge fps drops which is really annoying. And on the others side - people with slower cards(4850,8800GT) that mine is playing the game without any fps dips(which means 50+ fps).

Are developers working now to fix the problems before release date?

    Unplayable even on modern system

Once the first combat begins the game becomes unplayable, extremely laggy graphics and controls even when you esc to menus. This is odd because I exceed the specs. No change too when I turn all the settings and even the resolution lower.

    Game Settings
Resolution turned all the way down to: 1152x864
Everything off or turned to low

    Computer Stats
    Win XP Pro SP3
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (dual 3.1Ghz)
3GB RAM (note I still see around 2GB free when I alt-tab out)
    GeForce 9600 GT, 258.96 Driver

I have no problem running modern games like Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age at 1680x1050 at medium to high quality. I only had this problem once before with the Arma II demo available on Steam. Perhaps there is some technical problem that would affect both?

I predict a big patch at day one.
