Ever play Katamari Damacy?

    Ever play Katamari Damacy?

If not, here's a quick clip so you can get the gist of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwhFH75OCDs

It's basically this really odd Japanese game where you play as the Prince, son of the King of all Cosmos. You have this "katamari" which you use to roll up random things and make stars to replace ones that were destroyed.

If so, then you might like this:

I took a bunch of aspects from the game and made them as dark as possible, and the resulting story was pretty cool and creepy. Now I will share it with you. It's only one short chapter- I may add one or two more, just to push on different aspects that I remember (the sumo level, the Big Bang, turning old stars into stardust), but it stands pretty well on its own.

    Things mentioned:

The increasing size of the katamari as you progress through levels
The restoration of everything you rolled up from the previous level in the next
    The area boundary hand
Michiru (the girl who can sense the state of the cosmos)
Exactly what would happen if it picked up a person and that person ended up at the bottom with around 2-3 tons of weight pushing down on them
How people end up getting made into stars
    Other stuff

    Have fun reading.

Next chapter will be a different person's account of the sumo level.

Here's a TV Tropes page for Brackstone, who doesn't read fanfiction.

Working on the second chapter. I hope it makes you people go o____o because it's even disturbing me quite a bit.

I've read it and it's quite good, but I don't get why making it so serious, it's a trend of our time, revisiting stuff and make it dark and gritty; for some it's fine, but does it have to be for everything?

Eh, I just find it fun to take something so innocuous and light-hearted and twist it into the most Nightmare Fuel inducing thing I can. This is probably the only dark fic I'll do- after playing Katamari Forever, I couldn't stop myself.

    New chapter is up.

If you have a somewhat sick feeling in your stomach after writing a chapter of a dark fic, then you're doing it right.

You're so kind. I might get around to this one eventually though, parodies and off the wall re-imaginings can be some good times.

Then you'll love this The Terrible Secret of Animal Crossing, I'll read the new chapter later.

edit: read it, nice, the name of the reporter made me chuckle a little

Lol, I read that a long time ago. Tropers can find anything if they feel like it, and I was looking for some dark fics to read. That was one of the most recommended.

Yahtzee from Zero Punctuation did one once. You might like it.

Love the music, cheerfull happy music. Might have to try this game out, after the ball thing gets bigger, can you roll up buildings?

EDIT: Yes you can. Wow, this looks really fun lol.

It's fun. Eventually you can roll up tornadoes, rainbows, continents, stars, planets and even gods.

Depending on what game you're playing, of course.

I have never once been able to complete a demo from any Katamari game ...
