    Post KILL Anna, SAVE Juan!!!

    .

The first time I played the game, it was quite clear that I was to keep Juan Lebedev alive, and was to kill Anna Navarre. It was an easy, obvious, quick decision; and, Alex Jacobson decided to cover me on this one.
    _____

    (1) What do all of you think?
    (2) What did you do the first time you played the game?
    (3) What did you do after playing the game several times?
    (4) What would you do now?
    _____

    (1) My answer is above.
    (2) above
    (3) I tried all the possible scenarios / options to see how it would affect the game in later levels.
    (4) I would do the same as written above, "KILL Anna, SAVE Juan!"

You left out the option of crating up the room so Anna can't get in, thus saving them both.

    But:

    1. I think Juan SHOULD have to pay for his crimes. He did kill a lot of people, whatever his intentions. Therefore, he should be arrested but not killed. Thus, if Anna tries to kill him, she needs to be stopped.
    2. First time? I was 10 and just threw a grenade and ran away, killing them both.
    3. I did pretty much everything.
    4. Now? I would instinctively kill Anna.

  3. #3
I just knocked Juan out cold. I guess that means I killed him though, lol.

Saving Juan is the ethically correct decision, so in order to do that, anna needs to die

I always played very loyal to UNATCO until the the mission after that one, so I either killed Juan or let Anna kill him. I actually didn't know Anna could be killed there until about a year ago.

How and where did you kill Anna before a year ago?

Escaping UNATCO. She's waiting for you on Level 1.

My first time through I argued with Anna at the plane until she killed Lebedev, then got angry at her but didn't kill her. Then later when busting out of UNATCO I felt entirely justified in using the GEP Rocket.

    Too easy, not satisfying enough.

First time I played it, I just couldn't kill Juan. So Anna killed him.
After that I always killed Anna first.
I tried the other options too though.

I also was very loyal to Unatco, but when it comes to family(in this case Paul) I just can't continue like that.

But it's entirely satisfying using it on Gunther Hermann. He chases you to Hong Kong, then to Paris and prepares a trap in the Cathedral elaborately to avenge Navarre and you just walk in... "Oh hai laputan machine!" and "FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU-"

That one only lasts for awhile, because eventually, Anna must die.

    Now, howabout Gunther Hermann?

If you hammer on Gunther's firing arm until it's down to zero, he will run away. I only managed to do so in cheat-mode, though. Regardless, like Anna, whether you bypass him or blow him to bits, he's dead in-game, so it doesn't matter, IMO.

Now I have 'Kill Juan Save Anna' going through my head in a gunther accent...

So what happens now? I've just blocked anna away from lebedev using crates, what story does it advance? The same as injuring anna and saving lebedev?

    .

Since, Anna survived Lebedev's airplane map, then she will appear to you while you are detained in the MJ12 Jail / MJ12 Lab, and you will face her when trying to escape from UNATCO. Also, Lebedev will live.

I let Anna try to kill Juan, but i will try to stop her. So sometimes its KILL Anna, SAVE Juan, and sometimes its Not kill Juan, let Anna kill Juan, kill Anna.

What about, kill anna, blow Juan up? Still you are technically killing him, but only by killing anna.

I remember the first time i played this game and got to this point... sheer moral panic is the only way I can describe how I felt. I ended up not killing Juan, but then Anna does. I was literally holding my head low while playing the game for the next hour.

This Daedalus fella is sure giving other cynics a bad name.
Apparently there are people who think the best way to make
a prequel is to contradict the thing to which it is a prequel.

I disagree. I think Daedalus is great and is a great representation of us all, who definitely doesn't have a mind control laser which he abuses. All hail Daedalus!
