This is an old quick drawing i did(i think its nearly a year old, these photos are new though, i took them all at once :) ), straight with pen, its really bad and quite old so theres a bunch of proportional mistakes...

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m230/ss5sam/DSC00607.jpg
This is also quite old and not very good, apologese for the 'below the belt' area, flash was on...

A Quick Sketch of Bane

My Design for a batsuit, fully annotated (i wrote pretty sloppy, if theres anything you cant read, just ask) I Showed my Physics teacher (Whos also into comics) and he said he was impressed by the fact i suck at physics but i made this quite plausable and there are exosuits like this in development now...

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m230/ss5sam/DSC00601.jpg
...And heres the Back :) Again, just ask if theres something you cant read :)

Please post some of yours :) I'd Love to see them :)

On the 3rd Batman picture i tink you made something wrong with the Head, it just doesn't look like its the right angle on that position, othewise its really excelent and the 1st picture gives me this idea of an shadow league Batman and then the Bane picture is just terrific tbh.

Yeahh i know what you mean about the head :p
its because i drew that right on the reverse, and i wasnt concentrating so it follows the shape you'd see from the front, so his heads a bit slanted :p

Oh and, has anyone read the annotations?
do you think they're good ideas or not? :)
i'd like to hear :p :D

Thankyou :D

Yeah i was kinda going for that whole "Desolate Japanese Wateland" Vibe, didnt really work out :p
And yeah, the mountains are supposed to be in the background, but seeing as they are as bold as the foreground and theres no shading, it doesnt look like it...
It only took like 10 minutes to draw, so it dont bother me that it sucks :p

I Might Redraw it in Pencil Properly... hmmm :)

You should draw Batman watching over a tower in Gotham with his cape flowing.

Iconic.

WTF is wrong with you? If there is one thing I know it's that when you have a talent, you don't deny it

Now you just need to take the next step and draw something original.
Then a guarantee you that you will become a famous artist

Seriously, don't deny it by saying "not that great" or "a quickie" you've got talent

I Think a TAS Style Joker would look nice with your colouring style, so i'll draw that and you colour it ? :)

Nice Drawings I could never draw that good.

Just letting you know that Batman is flipping his finger on the right hand with the shuriken, UNLESS that is the correct hold for it. Trees aren't that bad.

The second batman art reminds me of The Batman look.

The third and fourth is really similar to the movie versions.
Everyone loves the memory fabric and the dual grapple hook.

Did one of your notes say a flame thrower?:D

When I saw light up bat symbol I was thinking about how it could blind thugs, but I don't think bats would use light as much as a distraction, only if he stands in front of it like he did in The Batman vs. Dracula movie.

Did one of your notes say a flame thrower it said torch?:D

I'm seeing some pretty great art here, guys! It seems we've got more than Batman in common.

So, I'll throw a few of mine into the mix!

Here's a little something I've been working on a little here and there for the last couple of days. Work in progress as I learn the software, but so far it's a lot of fun.

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss341/stoobytoons/Joker_zbrush_wop.png

And this is my avatar, which I sketched several months ago using digital ink and paint:

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss341/stoobytoons/batman_01.jpg

And then this, I used a reference from the show but made a few embellishments. This was done on paper in pencil, inked, and then colored in marker.

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss341/stoobytoons/batmanink.jpg

Oh yeah! And I put together a bit of a caricature of HL as the Joker a few months back too! This was also digital ink and paint.

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss341/stoobytoons/heath_joker_grad.jpg

Hope you guys dig em. :D

Agent of Chaos Heath Joker

http://i618.photobucket.com/albums/tt261/Wi11666/Joker2.jpg
Agent of Chaos with some nice hair
(I feel it looks like he's just had it washed and conditioned, it was my second decent Heath Joker if a little cartoony and nice washed and conditioned hair lol
He skips about causing chaos to the song,

"The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Explosions (And The Bombs They Have Used For A Thousand Years)".

Thats pretty much what I pictured to be playing as he comes out the hopsital in TDK (in the nurse's uniform lol) revealing in the destruction he's causing he can think, "I maybe an Agent of Chaos, but I'm Agent of Chaos with great hair" lol)

Yeah, isn't that like the big vampire Batman like in Bloodstorm? Although I did really like Kia Asamiya's take on the Batman drawing him more as a shape kinda like I suppose you could say like the Arkham Asylum A Serious Place On A Serious Earth's art by Dave McKean, but I also loved the demonic fashioned Batman in Harvest Breed.

Here's some pictures some of that I mentioned and you can tell me if the Bloodstorm on was the same as Gotham After Midnight which I think it is.

That picture is from Bloodstorm, but its the same artist on Gotham after Midnight. Its a trilogy. Red Mist, Bloodstrom,Crimson Mist. Gotham After Midnight is definitely similar, and the arc just finished. I forget which story he turns into a huge Bat, i think its Red Rain.

Also, Batman Gotham By Gaslight drawn by Mike Mignola is a great elseworld.

Actually, I heard that doodling improves memory. I guess it engages your "right" brain and helps with recall. I'd give you a source, but I don't doodle much, so I can't remember.

I think i'll start on my zombie Croc, btw, is it just me or is it hard to draw serious? What I mean is when I draw it comes out like a chibi or something, and in Croc's case, he probably won't come out that tall, i've always wanted to do something on an index card, may not be art, but it still counts as doodleing.

I finished my Croc, he isn't as vicious or realistic as I wanted, but he took me five minutes, and is easy to do, so when I do my Batman, maybe I will make a comic strip or two. Please don't tease me on how kiddish he is. Basically my Croc was done the way I wanted and the way he should be.
He's about a foot taller than the average man (he lives in the sewers so he has to trod through the water),
has a rare skin cancer,
lower oxyogen in the sewers alows him to savior each breath of air so he can hold it longer underwater,
good swimmer because of his long legs and huge breaths,
keeps his fingernails and toenails longer to intimidate people,
pointed teeth after taking a knife and carving his teeth into sharp-points to again intimidate.

Hey sammi, here's the script for that 2-page strip I was talking about, sorry it took so long, I know the last line is a little corny but who cares it's batman:

Page 1:

Panel 1 - (Top left corner of the page, next two panels follow from left to right) A rain-soaked man in a drenched, bedraggled suit bursts in through a door. We see him from behind, water splatters on the floor, the man leaning forward in a desperate sprint. Long dark shadows stretch out of the corners and along the floor

Panel 2 - (On the right of panel 1) We now see the man from the side, gun swinging in his hand, and open-mouthed panicked expression on his face. Shadows fill the corners of the panel. His jacket is ripped, shirt half untucked and tie hanging down. The rain has plastered his hair to his head and runs down his face.

Panel 3 - (On the right of panel 2) Zoomed in much closer on his face, the man is holding the gun up, pressed against his cheek. Only the gun, his face and his hands holding the gun are visible in this panel and we see in much more detail the man’s facial features. Most prominent is his panic, his mouth is slightly open and his eyes have darted to one corner, wide. Sweat beads run down his face and his gun glistens with water. The dark edges of the panel surround him chokingly.

Panel 4 - (A horizontal, thin panel directly underneath the previous row of panel. It stretches across the entire page) The man’s eyes now occupy the entire panel, bloodshot and completely deranged. Every detail is visible including his pupils etc...

Panel 5 - (Occupies the rest of the page, underneath the previous panels)
Runner: WHERE ARE YOU?!
We are looking down into a large, warehouse-like, room. Walkways criss-cross near the ceiling, closest to the view, and further down in the centre is the runner screaming. Pipes run everywhere and two large machines in the two top corners of the room floor are connected by a conveyor belt. There are shadows everywhere, accenting all the machinery and pipes. Although the runner is small, since he is seen from high up, we can see that his hands are in the air, showing the force in his scream. On the balcony on one of the walkways there is a bat-rope hanging (shown by the iconic bat-shaped hook) trailing off down somewhere.

Page 2:

Panel 6 - (Top left corner of page)
Runner: Eat lead you freak!
The speech comes off-panel. A shadow of batman is shown on the wall, with notably long “bat-ears” and several bullet holes in the wall where the shadow is. The wall is concrete and cracks outwards from the bullet holes. The flash of the gun illuminates the panel, making it lighter than the others, yet inexplicably leaving the shadow of batman on the wall, which the runner has shot at.

Panel 7 - (To the right of panel 6)
Runner: Show yourself...coward!
Again a shadow of batman is shown against the wall, this time slanted in a running position, with more bullet holes. This is essentially a slightly altered repeat of panel 6.

Panel 8 - (To the right of panel 7)
Runner: What do you want from me?
The third “shadow” panel, the shadow again in a slightly altered pose, however this time there are only one or two bullet holes puncturing it and the wall. There is also a “click” in the panel corner where the bullets are being fired from.

Panel 9 - (Middle left of page, extending from the very left to halfway across the page) We see the runner from the side. We cannot see his face and his head is tilted back after a batarang has collided with it, still visible protruding from his forehead. His arms have also been flung forwards as he is knocked off his feet. It is clear he is in the middle of being knocked over. This panel shows more shadows in the corners and surrounding the runner.

Panel 10 - (Bottom left of page, directly underneath panel 9 and occupying the same amount of space as it) Again we view the runner from the side. He is on the floor, on his back, propped up on his elbows. The panel is almost entirely black except for the runner himself. In his final stance, he looks even more of a wreck, emphasised by his tattered clothes and hair.

Panel 11 - (Remaining bottom right half of the page, directly opposite panels 9 and 10)
Batman: Justice
This panel is a standing shot of batman, finally visible as he gazes down at the runner, off-panel. Although shadows fill the panel, they do not surround and “choke” batman as they seemed to with the runner in previous panels. I’ll leave you to come up with how you want batman to look, as you already seem to have a few good ideas of him!

I've tried to keep it loose so you can tinker with it as much as you like, hope you like it =)
Also, that joker picture you guys did is sick!!

Sounds intense man :)
I'd love to draw it for you :)
I just hope i can pull it off >_<
One Question though: What do you mean by "Shadows around the pannel Choking the runner" ??

I Really like the script, makes a good little short story :)
If you like this when its done i'd Love to do more comics of your scripts :)

Sure man I'm always trying to practice my writing, it'd be awsome to get some of it drawn
Lol I know it's a little bit vague, it's basically supposed to make everything feel a little more claustrophobic, the shadows get increasingly bigger and strech out further with each successive panel and seem to surround the runner so by the end he's just surrounded by blackness as if it was "choking" him. TBH it doesn't really matter, just part of the overall "dark" tone

Do You mean like, the borders getting thicker inwards, so the lines of the panel get thicker towards the runner, until he's just imersed in darkness?

I've been looking for pics of Warehouse interiors to work from, Thats gonna be hard :p
But i'm working on architechture atm so it will be good to focus on that :)

Croc isn't that smart. But that's what made me love him in TAS.

Croc: Well, I came close to capturing Batman, too. He was coming closer and closer to me...

Everyone else: What happened?

Croc: I threw a rock at him! :D

I loved that line, but I agree with the Croc, they made him really, really stupid.

^Haha!

It's not really a "general knowledge" sort of riddle. I imagined a situation for which the riddle would apply. You could probably get it, but it's not like the answer is "air" or "banana cream pie."

Oh. Sorry, I forgot to answer that last time. You can run a google search. Some places offer discounts. I bought mine when I was still as student at the Art Institute so I got majorly hooked up. But ordinarily the Creative Suite package, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and a few other things, retails at at least over 1000.00 before tax.

Now, I'm not condoning any pirating of software, but I know there are some people out there that get a cracked version of the software. However, you are better of going with a trial version and actually LEARNING the software and then worrying about paying buko bucks later on. Plus, that way you won't run the risk of getting arrested or fined for a program you don't even know how to use. lol

Okay! Awesome. Well, here's a trick for you to get started:

When you're drawing females, especially "sexy" ones, try to use as few lines as possible to define muscles, bones, and softer features like noses. Contour is great when you are trying to study a feature by itself, but with women -- comic book type women, specifically -- you want to rely on value (light and dark) and highlights (where the light is the brightest).

So, take the clavicle area on your Harley. You've got lines there to indicate the bone structure. This is fine, but you want to give the impression that your 2D drawing has some depth and exists beyond the page. So, find photographs of women in this pose or get your girlfriend to pose for you maybe and pay attention to just how the light is hitting this area. Also, pay attention to the shadow from the head and how that falls on the neck.
The same goes for the nose, the ocular cavity (depression around the eyes), and the lips.
One last thing, try to imagine where your light source is at and keep it there! Practice understanding where your light is falling on your character and it will quickly appear to jump off the page.

So, that's just a few things. Just keep drawing! Look on YouTube for tutorials and get advice from anyone that is worth their weight. Feel free to ask me if you've got any more questions. My door is always open... or whatever.

Perhaps, however my explanation required no "no offense" disclaimer. Obviously he's no Monet or Picasso just yet, but I think a bit more information than "she looks like a dude" would be required to classify as anything more than a backhanded statement. Obviously, your critique was offensive. Just because you say "no offense" doesn't mean your following comments aren't offensive. So, have some class. If you have input, include the where, what, and why, otherwise don't pick on people just to make yourself feel nifty. Mk?

Thanks, I hate drawing mouths, so I tried to make it as vague as I possibly could, and then that happened. Ah well.

holeh feckin shet

Thanks. I think.

his chin is like a buttcrack lol

Well Batman is known to have a "strong chin", and since I too have a so called "butt chin", I put it in there.

Sketched this up for the forums.

I tried to make the jaw longer on some to get a balance between Heath's face and the traditional Joker's face. On others I tried to get as close to Heath's face as I could in honor of him. He is exactly how I imagined the Joker and I loved his portrayal.
I drew these trying to remember some of the more memorable poses he was in from the movie, I hope you guys think it's decent =)

EDIT: Ok my links aren't working...here's to my myspace, I'll try and fix the img code.

Hey guys.
Just joined here, but ive been watching the forums for ages now.

This is just a quick doodle i did today, while failing to revise for exams.
It's drawn from memory so there are mistakes. I might go back at some point and expand or finish it, but for now i think it's done.
I'd love to know what you all think.

I'm drawing up my Batman right now.I'm basically just taking a lot of pointers from the game's Batman which is a genius design.

Really great stuff here.:)

This is from a storyboarding excercise we did at school. We basically broke down an existing movie of our choice and storyboarded it. I did these from pausing the screen of Batman (89). This is where Jack Napier's men are set up at Axis Chemicals and Bats shows up.

Given I decided to draw this with a graphite pencil, it's a LOT looser than how I usually draw, which was growing up drawing comic books. I should, if I get soem free time, try and draw freehand. I don't really have the free time right now, though... I've got another 40 pages for a script to write this weekend...

Anwyay, here they are:

I won't bombard the thread with ALL of them in image form, but the links are good enough.

My drawing is here...

Little heads up. Did this with thicker mechanical pencil lead then I usually do, so some of the lines were harder to make. I did do the hands because I hate the hands and this was more of a sketch to warm me up. This took about 35 minutes to do, I shaded it a little but the scan didn't really pick it up. I hope you guys like it. I'm thinking about doing an epic Batman picture here soon that might take me a few weeks to draw.

Also, heads up, I know some of you guys are photoshop wizards and are amazing at filling in pictures with color(I suck so bad at that). If you want to do my picture just PM me and I will rest assure okay it.

Here it is:

Heres another, done rather quickly today, took just under an hour, or thereabouts.
Sort of an explanation of how Harley got her new get-up together.

Obviously as it was done in biro it was pretty hard to correct any mistakes i made, such as the the muddle up with Harley stepping over the nurses leg, she was supposed to be behind it but i drew her first and forgot.

Any opinions or advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

Knightbmb, if you need to post more than one quote, click multiquote on the things you wish to quote, then "post reply", so as you dont need to triple post. And as for you're fourth post, that doesnt belong here, there is already a topic for those kind of pics, and that one has been posted already, you may aswell delete that post.
On a positive note, you're art is good for 13 :) you seem to be starting to grasp shadows, although you need to think of one lightsource and make sure all the shadows and highlighs work with where the light is coming from.

And WarrENDeatH, Your pic is good :) Theres something about it which reminds me of Japanese Manga, which isnt a bad thing, you could develop this into a very unique and personalized style :)

Okay, thats the most immature I will get on this board. ;)

Sorry, Manga isn't my thing but thanks for atleast commenting on it. I'm planning out a pretty unique gargoyle stance, along side some Fan Fiction I plan on doing as a prequel to the game.

Heyy, Mangas not all like this(Thank God):
http://www.freewebs.com/kirbyscrib/Ash%20Ketchum.gif

Manga is a very popular style, and im not saying yours is an exact manga piece, im saying it has some similar stylings, you should be proud of the fact that you can have work that unintentionally but successfully draws similarities from such popular styles of art :)

This is an example of Batman in a more Manga style:
