Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good break (if you got one) and are looking forward to 2009! I know I am.

In lieu of much happening as we recover from holidays, I just want to mention that Deus Ex 3 has popped up around the web and in gaming magazines recently. Keeping in mind we haven't actually announced a release date, we've made a few "Most Anticipated" lists:

PC Gamer US February 2009 issue (http://www.gamesradar.com/pc/pc/news/pc-gamer-february-2009-issue-on-sale-now/a-2009010614132473075/g-2006032219817514003) "The Top 9 of '09"

PC Zone UK February 2009 issue "Games of 2009"

-Destructoid (http://www.destructoid.com/pew-pew-preview-the-year-2009-116476.phtml)
-CVG (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=203923)
-No Frag (http://nofrag.com/2009/jan/01/30308/)

Please note that there isn't any new info in these but I think it puts a nice little bow on the end of 2008 as we dive into 2009!

Diablo 3 out in '09! Haha, that's pretty funny. 3009 maybe.

They could do it. The engine looks fairly complete, minus the polishing. Though, they are likely to concentrate on getting SCII out in '09, and push Diablo back to '10.

I'll get Deus Ex 3 on the day it is released. Even if it's 50 years from now.

I'll hijack a delivery truck and get it an hour BEFORE it's released! :D

Maybe I should try training some ninja squirrels to swipe the first copy off the printing line.

I already got mission breafings from Manderley to break into Montreal office to get a release candidate build, Anna Navarre will be my partner for the mission.

Just hope they aren't keeping it in a big airplane.

Strange, I thought I read somewhere that Deus Ex would be coming in 2010. Well, that's what the development cycle seems to suggest at any rate. :p I wouldn't mind waiting till 2015 if it means a game that can recapture the original's beauty. :D

you guys aren't already playing it?

I've already beaten it.....three different ways.:D

And all you got for it was a lousy time machine?

I don't give a solid turd about Diablo III anymore. I heard you will have to pay for your equipment. Not for me. I spend the ******* $60 and that's it, no more buying until the expansion.

I very much doubt that. Summer '09.

I predict a Christmas '09 release.

Maybe we should start placing bets on the release date. Winner gets enough of the pool to get a copy of DX3, and the rest of the pool goes to bribes for various forum authorities to overlook illegal gambling.

If I guess the correct release date, do I win a prize? If so, I would choose another video by JerichoMccoy (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=78491). I miss those...*sniff*...

I read in PCG that its 2010 (that could be early 2010 if you guys heard about 2009) so I guess its 2009 "The game months" (October-December) or first quarter of 2010

I couldn't agree with you more. Star Craft II can also die in a fire as far as I'm concerned. Ever since WOW was released, my respect for Blizzard has steadily plummeted.
Personally, of all the games PCG mentioned in that list, only DX3, FEAR 2, and Empire: Total War were the ones worth the page space

Having never played WOW I can avoid the loss of respect for Blizzard, so while I don't care for Diablo III, SC2 is something that I really AM looking forward to.

I'm saddened by the fact that DX 3 isn't in big letters taking up 4/5ths of the page. It means we're doing something wrong. So I propose we all go outside one hour every day screaming about how awesome Deus Ex is.

It means that Eidos isn't hyping things enough here in the US. That needs to change soon. :)

Or they are saving the hype for the big news coming in a month or two. ;) Just don't take too long, I can't wait much longer. :nut: :D

I'm not a fan of either games, so I'm just hoping for a new Age of Empires/Age of Mythology game. :)

I heard that Ensamble is making an AoE 4 and its going to be based the around WW1/WWII era. I'm not particularly psyched to tell the truth, even though AoE2 remains my favorite RTS of all time.

As for some shameless selfpromotion, you also made it to the top 100 made by Gamer.nl, one of the bigger Dutch gaming sites I happen to work for.

Ensemble will be closed as soon as Halo Wars comes out. :( Some members will leave and go to other dev teams, some will be relocated at Microsoft's game studios, the rest will form a new team. I'm sure the Age of series isn't dead, Microsoft would be even more stupid if they leave it alone (there was no logical reason behind the closure of ES), so either the new team, working with M$ or one of their game studios will make a new Age of Empires or Age of Mythology.
I love the WW2 era games but I don't think an AoE4 should be set in that time period, there are still other historical battles to do before that. :)
