Hi all,

I got the game 2 days ago and I have a problem.
Everywhere I try to save I get the error:

When creating an autosave file:
- Failed to create an autosave file, Retry?
Of course if I retry it's always the same

When saving anywhere on the game:
- Save failed

The checkpoint works, I mean, when I die I get returned to las checkpoint.

Also I'll redact some info about my computer:

Windows Vista Business 32Bit (Service Pack 1)
AMD X2 @ 3Ghz+-
3Gb RAM DDR II
nVidia 9600GT --> Video drivers updated
500Gb HDD SATA II

I've tried to reinstall the game, run it in compatibility mode with Windows XP and 2K.
Also to change the language when installing (I'm Spanish, thats why my english it's so bad :P).
I've look on the registry and nothing took my attention.
I'm running it as an administrator and with all the "permissions".

Any ideas?
Thanks for your time!

Does your account have administrator privileges?
(Because of Vista, not TR:U) you probably need to run the game as an Admin, or with an Admin account.

Yes I'm administrator. I said it in the last post.
That's why I'm getting crazy hehehe.

Thanks for the idea dude ;)
Hope somebody had the same problem and fixed it.

Google "Vista cannot save game" or "Vista save game issues" and you'll see a tonne of threads similar to this (unanswered :p).
(I did find this one (http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-5632.html), but that's for when the game crashes attempting to save; that's not the problem here)

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?

Is your username inordinately long? I know some programs won't save if the username is longer than, say, eight characters or includes spaces.

Noup, my username is Roby, and I think is so short.
I've already searched in Google for those things, but no one is about TR:U or any recent game.

Is the folder for where savegames go there, or where it would/should be?

rg_001100:
Mmmmm... maybe you're on the way.
I've never think about it.
Vista users where you have the save folder?

Cause in some games I've had similar errors.

Ideas buddies?

As a guess in a few locations for vista...

I think there's a (save)games folder in the user documents folder, or it might just be under a folder titled "Eidos" in user documents,
Could also be somewhere in C:\Users folder (I think that's the Vista equivalent of C:\Documents and Settings, is it not?)

You could try a search for "Tomb Raider Underworld" and/or "TRU" (and variants) to see what comes up.

I don't have a copy of the game (yet), so can't tell you where the savegame folder is. (on XP or Vista). It's probably written somewhere else on these forums...

EDIT: Folder called "Eidos" in user documents... most likely a folder called "Tomb Raider - Underworld" in that... and a folder for each profile (including "Default") in that.
Is that folder on your computer?

On my vista the save files are located:

C:\Users\username\Documents\Eidos\Tomb Raider - Underworld

Not had any issues saving though.
