I've been lucky enough to have a go on the code... and believe me when I say these screens don't come close to doing Batman: Arkham Asylum justice. It's immense. Enjoy :)

These are the same screens we've seen, TDK. They're just shown bigger.

The "big thing?" You're referring to the giant reptilian guy? That's this game's version of Killer Crock.;)

So, from the pictures it looks lke we have a cell that may have held the Ridler?

Closeup of the batarang? hmm. could this be a remote control batarang for scouting areas like the picture implies?

Someone in the other thread on the Community Chat part said the translation in French of what is in that cell, but I forget what it was. It didn't specify that was The Riddler, but it's sure possible it was him.

And that Batarang reminds me of the one from Batman Returns that homed in on multiple targets. It's even coming in at the same angle that one was shot at. It took out like five guys, before being caught by the poodle... So, as long as there aren't any poodles in the game, Batman should be good to go:p

It's funny that you mentioned Batman being large. In the US, there was a cartoon called The Batman ( a new adaptation ) that stopped airing for other cartoons. :mad2:

Anyway, there was one episode when Superman and Batman had to reluctantly collaborate to defeat an enemy. Unfortunately I don't remember precisely about this but one of them went to the other's city to assist and again, I can't recall if it was Batman's or Superman's enemy. Near the end, they came up with a plan to have Superman disguise himself as Batman. Robin was also there to assist and in one scene, looked up at him and said something like "Whoa..." because he was larger than Batman in both height and build which made me say "Whoa..." as well.

So hopefully in the game, it's not Superman in disguise.

Maybe we could get some villains or hero crossovers from The Mighty Heroes?

Screens are good, but gameplay videos are better.

Well, the game was just officially announced not long ago. Give 'em some time:p

seems interesting (never been excited about games based on movies and such) ill wait more till i fully judge though.

The_Hylden

Uh, it's not based on any movie. It's more like a graphic novel, written by and art contributed by people working in DC comics.

The graphics are **** great. You can see nibbles of textures on the characters skin. Cool!

It says "I loved, I suffered, now I [wait]"

Not entirely sure about wait, but 100% on the rest.

The translation is I've loved, I've suffered, now I hate.

That sounds like it could be something Mr. Freeze would say but then you have all of the Question marks which is a tell tale sign of the Riddler.

Then again maybe the saying is a riddle?  :nut:

You're right ! I do recall the enemy's name now. If it was Superman's enemy, then must be Metallo with a kryptonite in his chest to sustain his "life." Unless I'm fully wrong.

I just checked IMDB and the show was ending in a bittersweet way. I happily caught only the final 6 or 7 eps. I didn't realize it had established four seasons.

Actually the villain was Brainiac, who had gained control of Bruce Wayne via nano-bots. It was actually a Superman Animated episode. My favorite bit was when, after Supes, disguised as Bats, met with Comm. Gordon and Officer Rene Montoya on the roof of the GCPD building, Montoya turns to Gordon and says, "Does He look bigger to you?", I also like the scene where SuperBatman takes Bane to the cleaners. All in all, a great episode for Superman.

Actually in Gameinformer Magazine they mentioned that when you throw a batarang it zooms to first person on it and you control the flight path. =\

Keep up the good work:wave:

to make it look realistic u dont need to think the suit has to be "puffy" to be bulletproof. It looks like a kevlar vest modified and thickened and re-painted to suit batman. now com'mon it could've been somewhere near to the one in batman begins. Or if you want to be honest to the comic book series the color and textures ok but there's way too many hay in that thing. I really am somewhat upset with batman's costume.

They've pushed FUD to the limit man! Just like in call of juarez. Good job. I never expected this kinda gfx from a comic book game. Especially when it comes to my favorite one. I always thought whoever would take up the job will essentially.....make a mess out of it and i'll wnd up:mad2: ing. But surprise! Keep it up guys n make sure the game will be as brilliant as it is beautiful. Nowadays u get beauty at the cost of brain.

My only regret is having to see Batman's man-bulge thrusting from the black underwear he wears on the OUTSIDE. Underwear on the outside is the definition of camp hero design.

The_Hylden
3rd Jan 2009, 23:16
It's not underwear:p Even Batman in The Dark Knight has a separate lower crotch area to the costume. Any suit of full body armor from now back until the middle ages has to have a separate crotch area... And I am not noticing a "man bulge" (thank goodness). Given the rest of his costume is looking to be flexible body armor and not just spandex, I imagine he's got to have padding there also, though. I certainly wouldn't leave that area unprotected; to the contrary, I'd want as much protection there as possible:p Call me crazy...

I know THAT, it's just it looks a bit stupid, they could of easily made it the same colour as the rest of the costume :P

The_Hylden

That's Batman's colors. His comic book colors, just like I wouldn't want to see Superman not have his red there and be all blue:p

I've always kind of wished they'd just set it as that and be done with it. Artists nowadays generally don't like that either, so usually that part isn't shown (either covered up, offscreen or in shadow) or is actually the same color as the rest of his suit, but it's not consistent. Some artists do it, some keep it the way it was.

Have you ever gotten an X-Ray and before they take it they make you put on a led skirt? It's due to the part that the semen in the male body can be harmed during the procedure. Well, I've always thought that since Batman has to be fully protected and I mean Fully, and has to be prepared sometimes to the point of paranoia, that incase of any encounter with radiation he'd want his (I hope this is not going to get me banned) sperm protected and thus have a more flexible black led-lined speedo I mean imagine if Damian was a mutant.

Or if you want to look at it another way, it's alway's been assumed that his black speedo was an outer layer upon his suit. Actually it could be that the suit leggings are armor seperate from everything else. I think I remember seeing a spy video of filming Batman Begins where Christian Bale is on the GCPD rooftop practicing the scene where he has to run and jump to the other roof, I believe you could see the top of each legging wasn't attached and would act like a large thigh-high protecting boot of sorts and he had black tights underneath.
