View Full Version : Things rendered at wrong depth!

Some things in this game are rendered at the wrong depth, such as the skybox which is closer than 3D objects in the scene.

Did you even test this game in stereoscopic 3D??

Some UI elements are also rendered at the wrong depth, and don't show up at all.

And there are issues with the water effects and camcorder effects when playing on a stereoscopic 3D monitor.

If you aren't going to test things yourself on modern monitors, you could at least get MTBS3D to test things for free for you and help you get it rendering at the right depth.

I have the same phenomena but i'm going to ask a little nicer if maybe someone could have a look at this. :o

Performance: I use a c2de6600 on winxpsp2 (nonoverclocked) and a gf8800gtx (178.24WHQL) and it works great! Every option can be turned on without interfering with stereo-3d! :D It's a little laggy on 1280x960 on my rig though.
There are some anomalies: Water is sometimes a very messy experience (actually looks better using higher graphic settings than low) and some far away objects (treetops and so on) are drawn at wrong depth. I wonder if you maybe have time to look for it for a "quick" fix. :P
So far I cannot see any other anomalies (and i'm looking :)) than this in the game, even the shadows works great and are perfectly drawn in 3D!

There are some missing UI's but in my experience the missing UI elements also appeared in trl/tra. Personally i don't miss them too much since i get an enhaced gameexperience with those left out.
If someone maybe could take a look at this and at the same time talk to the IZ3D-staff (who makes stereodrivers and 3d-monitors) noone would be happier than me. Maybe the effort of fixing this is of a very small kind?

I have played the whole game until finish and i have to say it's REALLY enjoyable in stereoscopic 3D! However: The things mentioned before and some others sustains in the game. For instance: Fire is also rendered totally wrong and makes the manor unplayable in 3D. :( One eye is good but the other suffers from strange vertical dark gray textures.
If there's any ev. patch in sight (for camera and some other things) then maybe the developers could take a look at what causes this too. The fix might as said before be of a very small kind! Cudos though to overall one of the very best games in the tomb raider series! I enjoyed it thoroughly and i still do!

On the other hand the devs might take stereoscopycompability into consideration when developing tr9 ! :)
