Hi Raiders,

I am thinking about developing a cool custom level TR game.

Being that I and want it to more than satisfy your appetite for a good game, I'm looking for suggestions as to the theme, seeing that the gamers have the ultimate say - what interests you interests me!

Where would you like to see Lara having her old-skool challenge? It seems sci-fi has been done to death so if you want to see her return to tombs and jungle areas, let me know!

All opinions and suggestions are welcome. I'd like some able volunteers if anyone can commit :o

Lo :)

I think an abandoned church or monastery might be cool.

Good luck with this. Thanks for asking.

Sounds like a great project. Best wishes with it

I like to see big castle complexes with lots of little towers and vast dungeons.

Lo!!!! How are you?
I have some Ideas, but I am putting them in the fanfic I'm writing.
So I please, do not copy in your fanfic!
But a level is fine.
Ok, Natla is alive & now there are 5 pieces of the scion and 5 islands.(One on each island)
Each island is completely different. Some have mutants, and some have all sorts of different things.
One could be like an egypt theme, (I never get tired of those) and so on.
What do you think?:D

Maby not Natla, and maby not the scion.

(sorey for the bad grammar.:o )

OOOO i got a really good idea!! ok here goes...

Lara is in the middle of the Sahara Desert on a trek to get to someplace on the other side. Suddenly the camel she is riding gets sucked down beneath the sand. Lara leaps off just in time. She turns around and sees that the camel is at the bottom of an ancient manmade pit with a tunnel at the bottem leading to the unknown. Lara climbs down, goes through the tunnel and discover an ancient civilization, probably created by one of the various clans of wandering nomads. Lara is so struck with awe that she barely comprehends a low growl coming from one of the stone huts to her left she turns around and sees...

The rest is yours to imagine...
Well what do you think?

Hey, there you are, Lo! Good to see you at the Eidos forums again. :)

A custom level, eh? Hmm. Well, here's one idea. In the past, I've had fun playing some fast multiplayer shooters (possibly Quake), and some user maps were made so the players were scaled down to the size of ants. You had to run on bookshelves (funny how some toppled over books make nice ramps from shelf to shelf) and over furniture etc for weapons and secrets and to get from room to room. Perhaps Lara plays with one of her new acquisitions and is shrunk down to ant-size, and has to figure out how to get back on her bed. If you have to make something out of the classic TR blocks, it may be easier to make a giant bed or giant furniture.

How about this idea for a practice level. Start by making just a couple of ruums (hehe) based on actual rooms. For example, you could have Lo's bedroom with a spider on the bed, which might lead to Spong's living room with a scorpion, and somewhere there might be a closet with a skeleton (oh, the irony, you wouldn't have enough map space for my closet). One obvious challenge with this would be trying to achieve the correct coloured textures to match the real colours, but if it doesn't match exactly, nobody will know.

I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

Hi folks,

Gosh some rather groovy ideas coming through here! :D

I can't thank you enough because I'm sure these ideas can be worked in at some point! Giant furniture? Sounds awesome! I dunno about spiders though Rumm mate - I ever could stand the blighters

I'm sure I can fit a camel in somewhere Memosa - how about in the freezer?

Great ideas and keep 'em coming!

Hopefully it will be a challenge but all good things take sooooo much time. I've made a start anyway -I know where Lara is going to end up but you'll spend a lot of time finding a way in if I can ever accomplish this undertaking.... ;)

You and Spong huh;) Let me think:scratch: Castle. Oh I know I know. My fan-fic has a castle do that don't forget the cannon. :) Also a level ala Von Croy with young Lara. But Instead of Werner, Her Dad. How's that for an Idea. If all goes well can we play?:D

P.S. Nice to hear from you Lo. Don't be a stranger.

Thanks Naraku :)

Thanks also for the suggestions, it's hopefully going to be a good four levels so plenty more standing room in the aisles :D

that sounds very familiar, hehe

Barcelona would be a nice place for lara to go to. There's a museum there that has a roman excavation underneath it's building, that's pretty cool.

Edit: just remembered I had these pics

Interesting pictures, Veppie.

Great idea about Toy Story, Driber. I haven't played a custom level for a while. I may have to download your level and give it a try.

Oh dear, there's one little issue I must address. Ah, how quickly they forget. I guess I'll just have to remind this member. So, before I go off and pout, I'll once again reveal my favourite beverage.

Mmmm, Rummm. ;)

it's not mine, it's a level by Reece

if you want to play it, better use this link instead: http://www.trle.net/reviewsearch/authorfeatures.php?aid=266

IIRC, the level at trle.net is newer than the zipfile I hosted for him
