I'm suffering from a serious form of TWS (Thief Withdraval Syndrome) and want to play thief 1 and 2 on my PC. But they both freeze up after a few seconds of gameplay. I have tried the ttlg forum list, no help there so now I'm getting frustrated... :mad2:

Any help out there?

There is no apparent problem with your system or Windows 2000. I assume you have installed the games using the -lgntforce switch. Then, the probable culprit is your two CPU's. To check it, start Thief but do not start the graphics part of the game. Go into the task manager, select the process list, right click on the Thief process, and set affinity of the running Thief process to a single processor. If that works, there is a permanent fix described on the TTLG FAQ that involves modifying the Thief EXE. It is not reversible so far as I know, so make a backup. Do the same thing to both T1 and T2.
