View Full Version : [Forum questions] "Preview" area

18th Nov 2013, 10:24
Hello there! :]

Well, I've written a post in the forums a few days ago and I've noticed that the text posted is not of the same formatting as in the Preview. I don't know why, but I am hoping you do. For example, colored text appears dark gray - when coloring links i.e. the text/name of a link. It looks perfect in the Preview part, but when posted it just changes color and even shrinks, it seems. :|

Here are the two screenshots and the URL to each of them:

Preview (http://oi44.tinypic.com/123sb5k.jpg) located here (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/editpost.php?do=updatepost&p=72844) and Post (http://oi40.tinypic.com/10rmjxw.jpg) located here (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=7456&p=72844#post72844). :)

Thanks!

I've made the preview area text font and size the same as the post text. Does it look better now for you?

As for those colors of the links in your post - that seems to be because you formatted it that way. Try clicking on EDIT on your post and remove the [color] bb code. That should fix it :)

What you can also do it highlight your entire post and click the "remove formatting" button; that will get rid of any formatting in one swoop: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/48kmh/jc1b

Thanks, Driber (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/member.php?u=9055)! :)

I can see that the font and size are exactly the same in Preview mode as well as after posting, that's great. :thumb:

As for the link colors I'm afraid what you suggested didn't quite do what it's suppose to, since the Preview still shows the designated color but after posting the colors of the links all change to the same (default?) color - #848076, regardless of which color is actually used to color the text/link.

To prove that you can edit this post (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=7456&p=72844#post72844) where I have colored the first Paradoks_db link white and the second one black. (It's "black", in case you're wondering, you just can't see it.) However both of them are nor black (#000000) nor white (#FFFFFF), are they? Also, your nickname in this post is a link and colored purple, but all you can see here is purple/Driber (#848076) instead of Driber (#7F40C2), right? Unfortunately - right. :hmm:

So there you have it. I don't know why, but that's the way it is. :)

Well, I thought it would be a bit harder to guess, having changed the specific wording in posing the question, but I see that it wasn't that big of a challenge after all! :D The_Hylden (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/member.php?u=23371) was so close in his description of the character (maybe even helping others track the missing "produce" seller) but since the question was what his name was, I have to give it to Paradoks_db (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/member.php?u=25635) - the name of the merchant is Cadmus indeed. :)

Lead the way, Paradoks_db (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/member.php?u=25635)! :thumb:

Looks like it's working just fine :) I clicked edit on your post, copypasted the text here and hit the "remove format" button.

If the "remove format" button doesn't do anything, try toggling between standard and WYSIWYG editor (the button next to it).

I seem to be unable to explain myself very well, it seems... :hmm:

Well, just to make your point true, could you make your nickname a link (to your profile) in Bold and in the appropriate color - #7F40C2 (purple)? That would be great. :)

Thanks! :thumb:

Yes, exactly like that, Driber (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/member.php?u=9055)! :D

P.S. As I thought, it was the appropriate order in which the code must be set in order to apply the desired formatting or in this case - [URL][COLOR][B]. Perfect! :D

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge! :thumb:

So all is sorted now? :D

@libarto (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/member.php?u=28608), your question seems to be alpha game related. Please post it in the private forum section.
