There is this persistent bug(From what I'm experiencing) in the pre-stages of the client that I can not for the love of Etro get past. I would be most grateful for help with this issue.The "Next" button has been greyed out even after reading Square's ToS.If it is common and not visible as a forum topic,then I believe this'd help.Thank you and have a nice day.


Update:Figured out that it was a script error that could be fixed by searching for FFXIV_BOOT.cfg,using a notepad and change the EULA from "0" to "1".

hello

i just downloaded launcher for FF14,

when i launch it i got a poblem :( like this:

when i click yes or no (no metter witch one) i cant click later NEXT button to accept an move on... :(

any1 know maybe what i missing to dont get that script error ?

please help i didint play this game never before and i wanna test it tommorow :(

Having the same problem.
Normal when you have that error it's in your web Browser and a simple reset if the setting normal fixes it

For then people who are getting 'ID or password invalid' on the Launcher even after several password resets, you may in fact be using the wrong ID like I was.
To make sure you have the right ID, use your email adress and latest password to log into this page:

https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/login?cont=account

There you will see the actual ID which is died to ARR. In my case, I seem to have different ID's for different things...

thank you so much!! I was having difficulty accessing it because of this (error on my part, and I did not know how to access these account settings)... I am now logged in and finally downloading my updates. I look forward to creating a character for this final test run!! :lmao:

Ok so when i open up the game I can't make it pass the User agreement an error appears as followed:

and no matter what I click, yes or no it will not let me continue (btw just in case your wondering that link is just to the User agreement)
is there anything I can do.

The servers are severely congested at the moment it could simply be that. Are you running on the PC or PS3? Do you have a beta Key? Did you play in previous Beta phases? are you a legacy player? If the answer to all of those bar the first two is no. Then the launcher is crashing because you cannot install the game till tomorrow.

If you are referring to my final statement however then the reason is because the game does not go into true open beta until tomorrow. Today is reserved for legacy players and previous beta testers only.

This is PC version, have beta key, I play previous beta... I even play this ... just game crash and I can't start it again.

ok thanks to some friendly people at Gamefaqs heres how you fix it "Its a bug on the launcher happens to certain people...

Go to My Documents, then My Games and find the FFXIV folder, in there open FFXIV_BOOT with notepad and where it says "EulaAgreement 0" change the value to 1. It will skip the EULA agreement and straight to login."

Try deleting your files, including previous beta versions and re-launching (if the issue persists) If it's a sporadic problem then it must be the server congestion.

That's all I can offer I'm afraid due to the acute nature of the issue.

i keep having the error appear when trying to install the game when running the launcher i have deleted all old final fantasy files and tried reinstalling several times ive also tried running as admin and done all windows updates if anyone could help id greatly appreciate it im running windows 7 and was playing beta phase 3 ok for awhile i have tried looking for a solution online and most say its caused from trying to use an old beta launcher but they have all been removed so i dont know whats going on

kommen jedoch nicht weiter, weil der Weiter-Button ausgegraut ist?! woran kann das liegen? hat das mit der Serverwartung zu tun?

Hey, so I installed the game download and when I launch it, the game takes me to a launch screen with all of the ToS and License Agreement terms but right as it opens up, I get a Script Error. Does anyone know a fix for this? I've tried reinstalling and I have still gotten the same issue.

Find your FFXIV_BOOT.cfg and change the B4EulaAgreement line from 0 to 1

I keep getting boot error [30605][20448][10009][10019] whenever I try to use the launcher and download the game.
I'm pretty sure I'm using the latest version (2013.08.22.0000.0001), seeing I followed the link they provided with the early access e-mail (and it having today's date in it).
I've been following their troubleshooting guide, but running as administrator and having no background applications running simply isn't helping.
Anyone else suffering from this? And has anyone been able to work around this problem?

So I am trying to download the client get the launcher set up but it wont let me log in. Im logged into this site just fine but for whatever reason it doesn't like my stuff anybody had this problem?

Open windows task manager and see if you have a a launcher/updater service running.

If you do, terminate both services and restart the launcher.

If you have the Beta3 client or older, you will have to redownload the new launcher, since only beta4 launcher or newer is compatible with release.

EDIT: Sorry, didnt read your post fully i think. If no services running, uninstall the patcher, reboot, and reinstall it. (Reboot isnt a soloution, for in many weird cases, it actually works)

double check that you use the same username and pwd as you use on https://secure.square-enix.com
if you can login to https://secure.square-enix.com but not the launcher, then restart the launcher and see if it helps.

No, this site uses your email as loginname. The game itself uses your Square Enix ID and the same password (same as the account managment on https://secure.square-enix.com)

its strange I can log into this site with 2 different names and passwords. I figured it out but its the most convoluted way to have a page set up. Square seems to be a bunch of strange people just like all the accounts and passwords rather than have 2 sets.

Didn't work either, I'm afraid. Same problem:
As soon as I boot it up, it downloads a very small 1.5MB patch (for the booter itself, I assume).
It then wants to check the updater/launcher version and proceeds to tell me it was unable to complete the version check.

I'm not even seeing a license agreement, nothing. I simply can't download the game itself.
I've tried all the steps on their troubleshooting page (except for the port forwarding, I'm not screwing with that).

Actually, I made sure to delete that folder every time I tried reinstalling the launcher. It made no difference for the error however.
I would have suspected the benchmarks I downloaded had something to do with it, but I deleted those folders as well.
It's a mystery to me what is causing it.

EDIT. if this still doesnt work then try the following

start /affinity 1 ffxivboot.exe

ffxivboot error 30605 is an old version 1.0 error that happened on multicore cpus. But this should have been fixed ages ago. make sure you have downloaded the correct client from http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/eu/ or http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/

That's harder to say then, there was an issue with this during Open Beta, but it was resolved with the method I gave you. The benchmark shouldn't be causing conflict as you don't install it and the folders are designed to work together.

OK, so: tried all of that, even rebooting after uninstalling and cleaning registries.
I used the download link you gave me and tried to install yet again.
Ran the download as administrator and it installed the booter OK, made a desktop shortcut as always, etc.
Then I even went into the Square Enix folder and made sure every .exe was set to run with administrator properties.
Added the command to run with a single core to the boot.exe.
Result: it skipped the small 1.52MB update it always does when I launch it for the first time and just went straight to the error screen.
Deleted the extra line and tried again.
Downloaded the mini update as it used to before and then it started checking for the launcher version once more ...aaaaaand it gave me the error yet again.
I think I'm done for now. I'm not seeing this get fixed unless they patch it or something.
But I really appreciate the help you gave me! Thanks for that! :)

Yeah, it's really weird :p Can't say I've ever had this much trouble getting a game to even just install.
It'll teach me to stay away from Square Enix games in the future. The Last Remnant is also one of the only 2 games I have on Steam that cause my PC to lock up. Think I should just draw my conclusions.

Its the ID at the top of the page when you log in here at this site link https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/Login?cont=account&ref=cis_na_login&svcgrp=Service_SEA and the password will be the password for that same site.

The Square Enix ID is the all inclusive account management system, you'll just have to register your account there (I suggest using the same information you provided for this account) and you should be able to log in after that.

Here is North America number if you need but the wait times are very long 18587907529 I'm sorry your having such problems. They don't open for 15 minutes as of this post they are on PST time so they open at 9 am that time.

It's hard to say, but since it's not the usual suspects it might be a combination of their end and your end or just their end. I didn't have issues personally when I updated a few minutes ago so I'm not sure. Sorry I can't be more helpful D:

You can try search that is how I found the number seeing how you cant find it on the site anywhere. Square-Enix Europe Phone Number or something I did Square=Enix North America Phone Number ugh missed up there a lot but you know what I mean. lol

Someone on beta forum had a simmilar issue, think they solved by disabling some kind of AV toolbar for IE (AV security for browsers), might help, might not, but giving it a try wouldn't hurt.

I downloaded the new client and installed and run the program, Downloaded the new update for phase4 and bam! all working! :)

The only reason it would be a problem is if you have the client from Beta Phase 1-3 installed on your computer currently. That's all :D

I at last got my Early Access code and everything working today. I downloaded the launcher too and everything seems fine and dandy.
But now it's like this.. I have a very slow connection at the moment and the game-download keeps disconnecting now and then. My question is: Will the download resume from where it last was? If not, I'm afraid I'll have to just wait for my physical copy of the game and not participate in the Early Access.. :c I won't get a better connection until next month. *sigh* -.-'

To make things clear, my question is (again): Will the launcher resume the download after disconnecting?

That's very unfortunate. orz To be honest, how do Square Enix believe that all people will be able to download 7 GB in one go without disconnecting or anything going wrong? People like me who are on a wireless connection instead of broadband might get drops in download speed sometimes and being given an error when that happens isn't very nice..

Hi,

I've managed to register my code for early access and then downloaded the client from the link on the page afterwards. However, after I install the client and launch it I get an error which reads 'unable to complete version check [30605][20448][10009][10019]'. The only time it seemed to work was when it updated to version '2013.08.22.0000.0001'.

Any idea how I can fix this? I've tried launching the client in administrator mode too with no success...

The download is stored as one file on their servers. Because the file is stored as one file, if the download stream is interrupted, you will need to restart each time. Updates to the client are over BitTorrent and will continue from where it left off. Please remember that BitTorrent is a protocol so don't confuse this with most people use BT for, but think of it as peer-to-peer with files being segmented to transfer large amounts of data without being susceptible to connection interruption.

Once you get the client down, updates should be not be phased. Unfortunately your circumstances are not optimal for this type of game and/or network activity. I understand this is your setup and you'd like to experience the game like others can, but your limitations are imposed by you, not Square Enix.

Thank you for your informative answer and yes, my setup is not optimal especially not right now. I am normally on a 4G connection, but living on the countryside I have no access to broadband. I have played MMO's without any problem before though so I'm not worried. I guess I'll just have to wait until I get my physical copy after all. ^^'

A little bit disappointed, but I'm fine. Launch is not too far away after all. ^^ I'm just really looking forward to play the game as I totally missed my invitation e-mail to the final phase of the beta. xD That's why I tried downloading the game despite being on a slow connection right now (shouldn't have consumed all data at the beginning of the month.. orz).

I got the same error. I just closed it out and kept trying. I did wait a bit between starts. It started on the the third try for me.

i installed the installer correctly, but when i lauch the game, the laucher still black......

hey all,

bought game yesterday, got key added it etc, everything went fine.

downloaded the launcher, and went to run it.

popped up that it was under maintenance . figured that they were doing some patching as all mmos do.

went to run it when i got home from work today and the launcher screen goes black and has following message:

"a system error has occured:-2146697211
http://frontier.ffxiv.com/arr_win/index.html?rc-lang=en=us"

i posted in another thread and someone relied about this happening in other regions etc and suggested that i uninstall and reinstall.

did all that prior to posting as i have played about every mmo around as im sure most of you have also, so im not entirely new to installing games.

tried calling them, no luck, and i emailed my prob, no reply.

any ideas?

I do believe that I saw someone having this issue with phase 4 client, getting it solved by disabling the browser protection from BullGuard

Just thought I'd update this topic with a fix that could possibly assist others...

The problem I had stemmed from using BullGuard Antivirus. I had to disable the browser protection in order to get the client working.

Fixed it for me too! Why on earth it still doesn't work with your whole AV turned off goes beyond me, but still. Success! :)
If only it would let me log in properly now rofl. Oh well :D one step at a time xD
Edit: And that's been worked around as well ^^ AW YISS. Finally just about ready to step into the game xD
Major kudos to the level headed people who came up with that fix.
I should've realized it was Bullguard, derp. Come to think of it, it locked up Battlefield 3 completely at release (like not making it able to start up properly or even cancel the process in the task manager)
and is usually that typical overprotective antivirus that blocks online games like Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and Magicka and stuff.
Still... having to turn it off is kind of offputting in a way, yes :p I like protection :c

I've been thinking of trying out on one of those semi-roleplaying servers like Behemoth, just for the heck of it (seeing as I've never actually tried that before), but my friend says it's gonna be very weird and annoying at times, lol. "YOU CAN'T JOIN US, YOU SOUND LIKE A SPY" "...Wut?"
I even haven't got a clue what class to pick :D
I'll probably either build up towards a black mage or a dragoon, seeing as I quite like Vivi and Kain, but I might as well even go full support as a white mage, as I'm sure healers have an easier time getting into groups. Plus, I'm sort of used to being the nurse in games already xD
Or maybe I'll just roll Paladin and tank, seeing I've got some experience already in that class. That's going to make it the hardest and stressiest to catch up with everyone when it comes to boss patterns and dungeon layouts and stuff though :p

For then people who are getting 'ID or password invalid' on the Launcher even after several password resets, you may in fact be using the wrong ID like I was.
To make sure you have the right ID, use your email adress and latest password to log into this page:

https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/login?cont=account

There you will see the actual ID which is died to ARR. In my case, I seem to have different ID's for different things...

I'm not sure if this is related to your issue as well, but check the second page of this thread. It may be something similar is why I mentioned it. Have you tried disabling your anti-virus or anything else you use internet security wise? (Temporarily of course)

I just want to follow up on this, have you tried logging onto the launcher again? And if so, have you gotten past the black box? The error you encountered was actually a web based error that was caused by the launcher not being able to connect with that specific website. Hope this has been resolved for you now!

******DISREGARD PROBLEM SOLVED******



So I have a rather small boot drive since it's an SSD. This isn't normally an issue since I have an alternate drive for installing my games and programs. But, in the case of installing FFIV there seems to be no way for me to point to my non boot drive does anyone have any ideas or link that could help?

i will check when i go home for lunch but i am pretty sure the launcher has the option to change the install dir, IF NOT, uninstall everything including the launcher and re launch it. when it asks where you would like to install the launcher too choose your other drive.

I`ve got a problem with starting the installation process: everytime I start the launcher I get script error and could only tick I`ve read the License and that`s it. Can`t click "next" to continue installation.

Am I doing something wrong or there is a problem on Square Enix`s side?

Same problem happened but in my case

I used VPN software and access with JP IP Address and it works just fine. I hope this helps.

I'd just like to get the client downloaded while I wrestle with Error 3, but I get that error in the launcher using the same ID I'm logged in with here. The game shows up as registered in my profile here, I can obviously log in to this square enix account. Is it just not possible to download the game until I'm allowed to play it? Am I getting the captcha wrong every time? (although the first time in the captcha doesn't show for some reason...)

The client will not let you log in until you have entered your pre-order codes correctly. You have to get past error 3 before that will happen.

about 5 times lol but after i changed my settings i had to restart again so i once again had to keep retrying till i got it going nad once again it eventually worked, dont rush tho bro servers arent even up so you cant even finish creating ur char yet T.T

OK, this is bizarre. In my wandering I got into a different set of SE forums and noticed a log-in button that looked like the log in on the launcher. When I got in there, I had the same issue. I eventually got it to take my email address and password, got into another set of user profile screens and discovered that this other site thought my userid was danchrist6. I tried that in the launcher and it worked. I have no idea where that ID came from, but when I changed the password associated with my email, it changed the password associated with both ids.

Now that I've gotten through the launcher's login, of course, it sends me to another early access site where it wants a 5-part code. Is that something I'd theoretically get after getting through the error 3 crap?

OK, so apparently 'nickname' isn't the same as userid - I was able to change my 'nickname' to danchrist6, matching my apparent userid.

I still don't know where that userid came from, or how one would go about seeing it.

OK, if you go here: http://www.square-enix.com/na/account/ and hit that set of account management pages (log in with your email, not whatever you think your userid is), you'll see your userid rather than your nickname. kchris, you might try that. You might also be able to use your email address rather than your userid when logging into the game, although that didn't do me much good on the PC client.

So, what do I do if the start up launcher is telling me my id and password are incorrect but they are correct. I have changed my password to see if that has helped and it hasn't. I even waited 15min to see if that would help in any way but it still tells me my id and password are incorrect. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hey everyone, I know this is probably due to congestion, but I haven't seen anyone post about this issue so I don't know. Registration and codes and everything worked almost flawlessly for me a few days ago. I can log into the launcher no problem, and the game starts up fine with I click "play".

But when I get to the splash screen that says "Start", "Configuration", and "Exit", when I click start I get a black screen with a loading icon on the bottom right. It stays there indefinitely. I've been trying to play the game since the servers went live and at one point I walked away for over an hour - the black loading screen remained. The loading spinner was still spinning.

Has anyone else had this happen? I can't even get to the character creation screen. I'm in North America if that helps.

That's a tough one, it might be that there's a bad file or corrupted file that has been installed and may require you to re-install. If you have already re-installed the game and it's still doing the same thing I'd suggest you go and get help from a live chat rep at the very least; if they can't help then i have no idea what you can do :(

It's weird, because my boyfriend has downloaded the game on his computer and it does the same thing. We live together, but downloaded at separate times. I'm reinstalling now, will update the thread to say if it worked or not.

Not sure if it might be network capacity or if all servers are down still and is giving you an error but not reporting the error and staying locked. It may also be that you have not let the program through the firewall or gain access to the net via firewall or anti-virus.

Yeah I just noticed that the servers are down now. However, they weren't down at the time of this post, and they haven't been down since 5am EST when the servers opened. :) This problem has been consistent for me.

I'm guessing it may be network capacity if my reinstall doesn't fix things, but I thought it was odd because everyone else seems to be able to get to the character creation screen at least. I have Windows firewall turned off and no other firewalls on, but I will double check the Windows firewall... That thing is the bane of my existence sometimes. :P Thanks for your help!

Well i've registrered the game , inserted the ps3 FFXIV disc and then it installed/downloaded :s the game .
Now when i push the Triangle button i have the choice of installing or information . When i choose install it jumps to another screen and says : Checking the Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn updater/launcher version 24/08/2013

The next thing that happens is that it jumps to a screen that says ERROR This is an invalid operation . Please login again from the top page ... but i havent even had the chance to login in that game from my ps3 :s i cant do anything when i'm on that screen except pushing the PS button on my controller and closing the game . Have tried for 15 times now and keep getting the same problem . Can someone help me pls cus i really wouldnt know what to do :s

Hello. I've been trying to play FF XIV ARR for hours but every time I open the launcher a script error appears. I already googled the problem and how to resolve it. I tried doing that EulaAgreement thing by opening FFXIV_BOOT and changing the EulaAgreement from 0 to 1. But it's not working. I tried to restart my pc and reinstall the game but nothing is happening. Also I tried opening the launcher at the time Early Access started at around 2:30am PDT and it works fine. This script error just came out of nowhere this morning.

EDIT: I have Windows 8

Found the answer! This is the 3rd time I'm posting it, sorry to spam but I'm trying to get this out to everyone!

Go to My Documents/My Games/Final Fantasy XIV (or whatever your final fantasy folder is called). There'll be a file inside named FFXIV.cfg

Open it with Notepad or Notepad++, find the line called CutsceneMovieOpening, and change the number beside it to a 1 instead of a 0. Fixed the problem for me!

I got my early access email and with it is game download. I download game fine, but when I use my shortcut to bring up the game (launcher) the screen is black. I have the numbers on top example (2018.08.22.0000.0001) but the screen is black. no picture or update button its just black. Any help or ideas on what to do?

When I start the launcher it goes to update the game. It goes to about 1/3 of the download and then I get the message:
"A problem occurred while updating. Please restart FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn (Beta version). [11006][20641][20643]."
But when I then restart the game, the exact same thing happens. Could someone please look at this because I would really like to play the game.

Hi guys I have no idea if anyone one is getting this but when I click to play on ps3 all I get a error come up. And says something like multiple windows being open and don't use the back option on controller it doesn't even give me the option to go to the login screen just seems to miss that part :scratch: . Alrighty. I downloaded the launcher, went through the code registering process, was able to log in for it, and then it started downloading the game client. After the installation was complete? Nothing. Literally, my launcher just shows a bar for the news and a button for more, a silohouette of the pre-order now thing at the top left, and empty space where all the actual content is supposed to be.

It is. And no, I didn't play during beta. Didn't have time. Also, thinking it might have been a fault installation I uninstalled it and re-ran the launcher to reinstall it. Getting that same screen, so now I can't even install the damned thing.

I am finding ff14, as was the case with the FF7 re-release, it doesn't work if you are using folder redirection. The launcher fails to connect to get updates.
I have the desktop and Documents in win 8 redirected to a network server.
Both work fine if used with a windows account without folder redirection.
Anyone found a way to get it working with folder redirection?

I just got my preorder game today and after i install the game, it runs the update, then the screen turns black and my PS3 freeze.
I did few time of reinstall and got the same problem and this happened during the early access already. I thought the problem will be solved after i got the game disk, but it's not.

I keep getting boot error [30605][20448][10009][10019] whenever I try to use the launcher and download the game.
I'm pretty sure I'm using the latest version (2013.08.22.0000.0001), seeing I followed the link they provided with the early access e-mail (and it having today's date in it).
I've been following their troubleshooting guide, but running as administrator and having no background applications running simply isn't helping.
Anyone else suffering from this? And has anyone been able to work around this problem?

i from Belgium and i fix my issue by full remove my anti virus dont know it will work for you but you can always test is so just remove you anti virus and try again.

I have downloaded the update launcher, added my code to my account (it gave me 30 days) and added FF:ARR to my firewall accepted programs list, it STILL will not start up. it always says that the update launcher has encountered a problem and closes. I have gotten the download for it from Amazon and the offical SE one. help? any advice?

It won't let me log in at all. Heck I can't even install the game. Paid for game, download 3.xxmb installer, launched it, go to "I already have a SE account then user ID and password don't work. Even though I can log into the site with these very same credetials.

I get the same problem. I downloaded the game and patched it. And I get to the main Menu with Start, Configuration and Exit. When i hit start the screen goes black with a loading symbol on the bottom right corner and nothing happens. Tried it like 10 times.

Steps to reproduce:

1.Start Launcher while servers are down
2.Log in
3.Message appears saying : "The game is unavailable for play during maintenance." and Play button is correctly disabled
4.Click on any messages in News section
5.Close message
NOTICE: Launcher now shows one disabled Play button and one enabled below. Click to start the client :rasp:
NOTICE: When Worlds page is displayed it shows realms still working


I was able to repeat this few times in a row. Now I can't for unknown reason.

Every time I hit 'Play' on the launcher, it says a fatal DirectX error as occurred and closes my game.

I know that the game is having trouble with people logging in but is this part of it or is this just a totally different problem?

Has anyone figured out how to fix this? When I click the launcher, sign in, get to the main menu with the theme music and hit start, I get a black screen with a little loading pinwheel on the bottom right corner and no matter how long I wait nothing happens. You might have an option depending on your graphics card your using. NVidia has a control panel that can create specific options for games.

Launched my game today. It's its going threw all the same steps as day one. So i click allready own a account. Typed in info. Then it asks for Reg Code. I type in the one i have. I had the same problem when trying to log into my account today. I checked through my email and found one that said webhelpV4, it had my new code in it and I can log in fine now. It didn't say anything about square enix in the subject so maybe it gone thrown into some people spam folders



edit: I hope none of you can find it cause I can log into any server now without a wait or error code.

Bah! i succeed, the cause was my Square EnixID is not the same of my ID when i connected on this site. So i just changed my password on this page (on my profil) then i saw my true ID to play with FF14 ! I think things could be easier miset Square Enix!

As above i got booted out when teleporting and game said server lost connection or something when i signed back in pressed the first start button and the main meua screen came up but now the start button don't light up and doesn't work.
