I'm soon to get the 360 Elite, but I still don't understand this point system. What are they, and what do they do?

OK, well the Xbox 360 allows you to unlock acheievements for doing certain things in a game. (See the list above for all the Just Cause ones.) They are in every game and all add up to contribute to your gamercard a gamercard Shows your profile image, gamertag, reputation, gamerscore and zone. Plus the last 5 games played.
For example, this is my Gamercard:

The gamerscore allows gamers to compete to see who can get the highest score and give you a feeling of achievement whenever you unlock a very difficult one and then you can compare achievements with other people.

A cool community thing you know?

Easy, when you connect to Xbox live you have to make one. Its basically just making your own profile.

I'm still wonder whether or not it's worth getting an online account. My X-box one was barely used during the school year, and I'm still waiting for an Elite (1337).

that elite comes with a 120gb hard drive!

Before you get hyped up about the Elite you better check some of the reviews for it. Not sounding so hot.

i think that 120gb is a bit unnecessary for storage, it's just like the ps3 the ps3 is soo high priced because of the blu-ray dvd player, i mean if you see a blu-ray there about £1000 ($1300):(

Though it won't officially be on store shelves for another nine days, the Xbox 360 Elite has already apparently been purchased, spirited away, and gutted. Minnesotan tech blog Llama.com is posting pictures of of what it claims is a disassembled Elite. And, other than the HDMI output and 120GB hard drive, its silicon entrails apparently aren't much different from those of a standard Xbox 360.

According to Llama.com, the Elite it disassembled has the same noisy Hitachi DVD drive as many older 360s--not the quieter BenQ drives found in several newer batches of the console. The site was also unable to tell if the console's CPU was made using the larger 90nm processor or the more energy-efficient 65nm processor, which is supposed to be introduced later this year.

still looks quite cool in black.

I knew there wasn't going to be much more than a black 360 with a larger hard drive, but I thought they would at least fix some of the problems. One more reason why I hate Microsoft.

I guess I'll just upgrade my PC instead, or wait until the 360: 1337 Haxor comes out.

The atleast could have... should have added wifi. No excuse not too when even the Wii has it.

The strange thing is, the Wii has an extremely shorter range than the 360 controllers. At my friend's house, I couldn't even walk out of the 360's range, but I had to stand right next to his TV to play the Wii.

the wii is fun but it's not personally what the sort of thing i call a "hardcore" gamers console.

I'm using the Wii for exercising.

good thought, i never thought of that, using the wii for exercise...clever.

When you get into the Wii games, it can get hardcore. I would know since I smashed my friend's remote against the wall during a swing in tennis.

Since we are talking about the Wii, anyone hear about the Wii balls, they come in a sac, white or tan. DEAD SERIOUS.
