Wonder if the markings make any sense or are just random symbols thrown in. But heck, it looks damn good!

Very nice. Looks remarkably like the Antikythera Mechanism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism).

Wow, that's really interesting.

And that new render of the Scion is awesome.

May seems so far away, and so much to look forward to. May marks the end of my 2nd year in college, my 22nd Bday, three major motion pictures I REALLY wanna see, and this glorious game.

Looks great, still reminiscent of the Scion from Tomb Raider 1, only now it looks so complex
* aussie wanders of to see if she can pull scion apart to make 3 pieces :)

Might be slightly off topic here a bit but it reminds me of the main title screen of AOD:p

Other than that... very impressive... I am very impatient for this game!!!

interesting...
both new&old look...mysterious, powerful, interesting. the old looks like it has some super-powers, while the new looks like it belongs/a part of some-kind of a machine (which is true, sort of, it fits the storyline), it looks complex.
well, I don't see any similarity, but I really like the new one. :D

the newone is absolutely realistic, because the three parts aren't exactly the same, but different(with different shape, color, size...), and is more cool!!

Wonder if the markings make any sense or are just random symbols thrown in.

What I can see are random Greek letters that make so sense :D

the new one is really cool i agree, but...it looks so complicated....in a good way of course....but still......dont give that to me to take appart into 3 bits, coz i will end up snapping it in two...:(

Very nice. Looks remarkably like the Antikythera Mechanism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism).

That was the first computer!!
It showed the location of the sun, the moon, the planets, the time and dates of the year!! It was amazing for that time! It was the first construction with cogwheels!!
It was created by a famous greek enginner, but canĀ“t remeber the name. After the creation of the cogwheel, he also created the first mile counter, to count the lenght of the roman roads!
The Romans used him(the creator of the engine) for a lot of his needs like this!

Wonder if the markings make any sense or are just random symbols thrown in...

hmmm ...
did the developers add random symbols to this magnificent piece?
i can't prove it, but, methinks not.

did the ancient atlantean rulers add random symbols to this paramount instrument?
methinks not!!!

what a shame it would be to have such a beautiful thing covered with graffiti ...

this much can be said:
the markings contain greek symbols and other symbols which resemble egyptian or phoenician hieroglyphs.
one of the glyphs appears to resemble an egyptian ankh.
this could signify that it (the ankh) is meant to imply a key of sorts.
another glyph looks like a coiled cobra, of this i am not certain.
if i am correct, then that glyph would tend to imply royalty or rulers.
the hieroglyphs aspect is buttressed by the fact that some of the greek symbols are transposed, which is common to glyphs.
obviously, if the markings are original atlantean then we would need something like a rosetta stone to decipher them.

i doubt a literal one-to-one translation will be possible.
authentic writing from ancient times (which these markings resemble) oftentimes did not use vowels!
... and the meanings of the glyphs themselves could change by location.
i'm curious as to what these easter eggs hold in store ...
happy hunting!

I saw a documentary on that a couple of months ago, very interesting.

Goran, thanks for sharing the pictures, the new scion looks incredible.

Winston, I thought the same thing (Jess, welcome back by the way :) )

I think you're right, I don't even study ancient alphabets and I can see at least three differen't languages on it :p oh well, it's still pretty wicked.

The three different languages and three different styles of the three different artifacts, all connecting in the centre to combine into one single spectacular mechanism.

It seems perfect to me, a logical Rosetta stone of some ancient and arcane functionality.

Sweet.
