DMZ Shouldn't get rid of the lag, I can see how it might on a really old router, but otherwise no. If your router has port optimization features, you might want to put some of the ports in for that, Linksys routers have that, and I use it for things like Zsnes. But I doubt DMZ will improve your speed. but incase you want to enable it, go to Start - Run - CMD
type ipconfig and you'll get an i.p (192.168.1.x)

Fill the last number in for the DMZ field and accept changes.

Don't use DMZ if you go to safety compromised websites, or desperately type Porn in google. Also don't use DMZ if your computer holds things worth value, i.e; financial programs, turbo tax, etc.

For each field you'd type "6667" to "6667" and so forth. You'd set them for the i.p address that your router assigns you, refer to my above post on obtaining that. They say if they are UDP, if it doesn't say UDP, mark it as TCP Protocol.

Don't tell me you're defragging w/ the game open... XD.

www.portforward.com for a tutorial on how to do so if you don't understand what I've typed.

Looks like it. You're doing it the right way.
Erm, You have one that's UDP set as TCP. 2nd from the bottom completed.

port forwarding isn't for lag (in most cases.). it's for merely connecting.

Now how do i disable DMZ?

29th Jan 2007, 04:39

Thanks man uve been such a good help, And sorry for trip post

Well, using DMZ and setting Port Forwards towards the same pc isnt going to help. By enabling the DMZ you're already exposing the entire pc in every range possible to the net. So you either DMZ or Forward the ports.

And about what type of lag or you talking about. The connection lag or graphical lag?
