Holy crap! You make me look like an old person with a walker

That was with MUCH practice, and playing the levels many many times before I got those!

Oh and for Africa, that's actually me cheating. I got really lucky and nailed the jump the first or second time. That's the jump in the beginning that if you angle it right, it lets you bypass 90% of the level. I imagine it'd be fixed in a patch someday soon.

Unsure if they are spot on but there maybe 2 or 3 secs off :D

I think it's a bug. And I'd guess you'd have to try hard to get the jump right, from what Sorin said.

Yes, you know the rock the boulder smash when it falls off the cliff? Basically it is possible (but very tricky) to make Lara jump around it and grab the edge behind it and climb up the wall ladder to the bar swings.

That said, I never managed to pull this one trick.

I am so going to try that! I'll let you know if i succeed hehe

But it's more fun if you actually *try* to do it without cheating.

Oh i've done it several times but i thought it'd be fun to try this jump

I am at the part where the boulder falls and crashes but i can't for the life of me figure out where to jump round and grab! help! a screenshot would be good lol

It's not easy, especially with the way they programmed Lara to auto-move and auto-face in different situations. Quite tricky.

Woo! Finally finished all time trials! Hopefully I'll get to practice more and get better times. Apparently I suck

Nepal - 12:03
Bolivia Redux - 4:04
Kazakhstan - 22:34

These are my most current times.

Bolivia: 09:09
Peru: 16:57
Japan: 09:39
Ghana: 12:26
Kazakhstan: 16:51
England: 15:31
Nepal: 06:43
Bolivia Redux: 03:46

I've probably done better in some and worse in some in previous savegames, but I (or one of my fellow brothers) apparently have overwritten the other three slots with the same savefile.

Regarding Ghana, I've learned a few tricks and probably could knock that time down if I managed to get through without dying (think about free-running the whole level without even seeing where you're jumping at). The only shortcut I took was in Kazakhstan, didn't go down to the tesla tower. Nepal was rather surprising, and I happen to have it taped on VHS. If only I could transfer this, I never managed to top that time again! And no - I didn't use the trick to jump off the cliff to land a few feet over the wreck.

I didn't use any tricks either, and I found Nepal to be a rather simple level. Which is why I'm wondering why the Nepal times aren't faster than they are. The only pain in the rear part for me in the level, at first, was the collapsing floor at the end. But after much practice, quick fingers, and good timing, that part is pretty easy now. And there's not a boss either, so

Other than the floor at the end, which parts of the Nepal level are you all finding to be difficult, unless it's just a culmination of small stuff?

In Kazakhstan, for me, I've figured out to save time by just ignoring the mercs at the beginning - and it makes it much easier if you have the bulletproof cheat on :D

Treeble
23rd Sep 2006, 01:39
For the record, it can be done without any cheats, and yes, it saves a lot of time. The hardest bit is just after talking to the Russians, but it can be done. :)

Yes Im aware, believe it or not :rasp:
But sometimes I like to 'splurge' and use'em once and awhile. If anything I turn the cheats on during a cutscene and I don't lose time at all.

Here are my timings:
Bolivia - 10.30
Peru - 17.18
Japan - 10.35
Ghana - 15.31
Nepal - 8.26
Bolivia Redux - 2.52

I can't precicely tell the time of the Kazakhstan and England levels, because I had a bug, which said, that I completed the levels in about one and a half hour. Odd. If I knew, how to insert pictures, I could show you.

Ok that's kinda what I meant too.
Well if you have a photobucket/imageshack account (or get one):
You upload a screenshot from your computer to one of those sites, and it will give you 3 codes - a tag, url, or IMG code.
Now if you look above where you're typing when you're submitting a post, there is a 'insert a hyperlink' icon and a 'insert image' icon. You can either post the image url with a hyperlink, or post the image in the post with 'insert image'. Preferrably a url.
