Here's a picture I made that you can use as a Thief wallpaper

http://www.uploadfile.info/uploads/bb4b5a625f.jpg (http://www.uploadfile.info)

to use it, save the picture somewhere, and go to control panel-display-desktop-browse, and find it. When you find it, click "apply"

It's just me in a cloak I made about three years ago after playing Thief too much.;)

It's good, but... you're looking away, as though you just accidentally flash-bombed yourself! Which you did really didn't you? With your camera of course!

John D.

No the flash was off (I miss my digi cam, had to sell it for extra gas money! ) I'm not a big believer in putting my face on the net, so I only reveal a little bit in my photos.

Hahaha! I had to do the same thing with my last one! :( It's a poor man's tale, it is! :)

Well at the rate prices on digi cams are dropping, I'm sure I'll get a new one before too long. I could get a 3 megapixel one fairly easily, but I'm going to wait until I've got the cash to get another 5 megapixel camera since the image quality was so nice.

Man, you people get off subject so easily...

Man, you people get off subject so easily...

You seem to have a problem with that Marshall, I understand the issue, but, is it really worth bringing up, unless there is a real apparent problem? Like flaming, spamming, etc.

I don't see a problem with it, I see it happen on EVERY forum I visit. It happens, and will continue to happen, no matter what. You can't keep complaining about it, people get tired of that, to be blunt, either accept it, or time to find another forum. No disrespect, just being honest.

This forum has been extremely quiet for far too long, but lately, I am for the activity, staying on topic or not.

.....what BA said

Since we are on the off topic of digi-cams, what is a good brand? :nut:  :lmao:

You've already mentioned this twice now, merely stating an observation of mine. :p

You're kidding right. You've mentioned threads getting off topic at least twice now.

Marshall Banana

no, the first thing I mentioned was how people get off topic, and the other thing was explaining that I wasn't complaining about it. and thus, I did not mention anything twice.

Last time I will talk about this, you don't have a very good memory, do you.

You have posted TWICE, about people going off topic, check it here, http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?p=584879#post584879

And now in this thread.
I'm done.

OMG

You make wallpaper with the two most feared critters in thief?!? Those trees and red devils have chased me down and crushed me too many times for me to want to stare at them as wallpaper.

Now gaseous maximus...there's a sweetie :rasp:

Speaking of digicams, the battery on mine runs down very fast. Are there any that don't? Or are they all like that? I have owned two of them now, with the same problem on both. Seriously.

BTW, nice wallpaper. I like them. They must've taken some editing effort. I have seen some editing jobs that are bad. But if I installed them, I probably couldn't get near my computer (unless I closed my eyes while clicking the desktop icons. Too scary). :) There. I got back on topic.
:D

Now what I really want to know is..... what's the price of tea in China? LOL!

For things like digital camera's, you really need some 2700 mAh rechargeable batteries. They will last a long time.

The trick is lithium ion batteries. They are about 3 times as much in cost, but they will easily last you 10 times as long. The first time I went to Russia in 2003, I think my camera went through 4 or 5 sets of AA batteries in 2.5 weeks. In 2004, the same camera with lithium ions went the whole trip. In fact, I have those SAME batteries STILL in the camera! :D They are Energizer brand if curious. Duracel would probably be as good. Beware the cheaper brands, when it comes to batteries there really are differences unlike most motor oils. ;)

The problem is standard alkalines do not hold a constant peak voltage over time. After a while the voltage output will go down. Digital cameras are very picky about voltage. When they want say, 8 volts, they mean it. You will get low battery warnings around 7.5 or so. So the batteries you had in there are still good, they just aren't "good enough" for the camera anymore, but can still power TV remotes or other toys just fine. Lithium Ions will hold that peak output until they are very near the end of their lives. Rechargable Nickel-Cadiums, or Nickel-metal-hydrides act the same way, but they tend to not last as long. However, you get to recharge those. ;)

BTW. I love the wallpapers! :p

Thanks, Sluggs and Rommel. I appreciate it. That is what I used... the AA you mentioned. I seldom use the camera because of this problem.
