View Full Version : Hitman Downfall

I've written this once already but Eidos insists on auto logging me out everytime I try and post this thread so here's the short version. lol
Hitman codename 47: 12 missions 18? collectable weapons
Hitman2 Silent Assassin: 21 missions 29? collectable weapons
Hitman3 Contracts: 12 missions 38 collectable weapons
Hitman4 Blood Money: 12 missions 20 collectable weapons
Requiem doesn't count, it's an ending battle not an actual mission and 5 weapons taken out due to the fact that you begin the game with them. This is just looking at the mission/weapon loss difference. It would take way too long to go through the actual gameplay losses.
Am I the only one who can see what is going on here? Each year we pay more and each year Eidos makes less for us to enjoy. That is soooo wrong man. As if the game suffering wasn't bad enough, each and everyone of our faces are being spit on as the character we have grown to know is being ruined in a stupid movie. Look at it this way, Agent 47: A slim albino assassin, being played by Vin Deisel: a muscular jewish/black (gay lisp) "fast and furious racer." ****
I'm not being racist here either, it's just alot of people wouldn't want Keanu Reeves playing the role of Malcolm X, or Chow Yun Fat playing the role of President Lincoln and that's because it's "disrespectful."
Eidos created Hitman long ago and hoped that people would fall in love with this character and guess what, we did. But for what? So you could turn around and mock the same character most of us have grown to love.
I am so upset by the fact that I wasted my money on the purchase of Blood Money when all it was is a 6 hour demo. I mean DAMNIT! I beat this stupid game on PRO, achieved an SA RATING AND collected the pittifully small ammount of weapons in under 6 hours. This game doesn't even rate as a 1 day game, more like an early morning demo. I feel betrayed man and it sucks.
I won't be watching the movie because in my mind Agent 47 isn't black just like Martin Luther wasn't white. Furthermore I won't make the mistake of purchasing another Hitman game untill Eidos actually does a complete job and gives the people a game worthy of their hard earned money. Not some demo scheme to make a quick buck. Which is all the movie is by the way, a means for the greedy to get greedier.

How much time do you spend on every mission? I can't imagine anyone compliting it in 6 hours. I spend 1 to 1.5hrs on each mission because I want to scan it thorougly and figure the way to get smooth operation w/o witnesses.

Some missions took me as much as 30 mins while others I could complete in about 20-15 minutes. Everything is just so straight forward it's way too easy for me. The level's aren't big enough to confuse you and an SA rating is too easy. It may be just me, but I spent so much time on all the other game's, it's like I know what to expect now. I know what need's to be done and the most effective way to get it done. It's so sad too because I can't get a refund for this game. Store's don't consider it defective just because it's too easy for me. So, I get ripped off and there's nothing I can do about it.

Play it on pro dificulty, its harder than all the other Hitmans imo, you also get alot more options in this game than in all the other ones.
The other games were hard to beat in SA because the a.i. bugged ;) .

The 38 weapons in Contracts were all the same, by customising them in BM you can change the weapons completely, that much better than having single, dual and supressed version of the same thing...

if you actually read the whole thing he did beat it on pro...

It's true, the last two hitman games have been VERY short.
Maybe they will move into episodic content?

Assuming you believe it, that is. I don't believe you can complete the game in 6 hours the first time through AND get Silent Assassin rankings on all levels.

Neither do I.. Well, unless you're using walkthrough and/or cheats. LOL.

Tell me about it. If you know how to do it, it's quite possible. I've seen a number of videos posted online with people making speed runs. I saw one guy complete the A Vintage Year mission on Professional, in less than 5 minutes, without changing out of his suit at all. I tried it, but can't get the timing right on shoving Kingpin Jr down the stairs. I just manage to KO him instead of the fall killing him. The rest of it was quite ingenious, though. He did most everything at a dead run, only sneaking at the last possible moment.

Someone who claims to have beaten the game in pro dificulty and rating SA in all levels in only 6 hours claims he doesnt like the game because its short and easy... and he even colected all the weapons while at it...

Ok  .

Post is ridiculous, pay more for less  ... this is the most worthy hitman game to date in terms of content, the quality of the levels, the a.i., the weapons are all well done (some even customisable) and we have much more gameplay options (acidents, throwing knifes, hand combat).

H:BM is the best Hitman game to date  .

I agree. but now I think they should make a sequal like they did with contracts no changing of graphics or anything just more levels like an expansion pack.

The same thing is happening in other eidos games, for example tomb raider, I just think that they have such a large fanbase that people will buy them anyway. Everyone who has bought the last 2 or 3 hitman games will buy this one, it doesn't matter if it's good or not and eidos knows it.

That's always a danger with sequels. Some people will buy it no matter what, so the companies always have a tendency to skimp a bit on the new game. However, comparing Hitman to Tomb Raider is a little inaccurate. Hitman had an ok first game, a good second game, and a not quite as good third game. Seriously, there was nothing wrong with Contracts gameplay wise. It even got a slight visual improvement from the addition of post filtering effects. However, the real complaints about Contracts were that A) you no longer had any equipment choices each mission, and B) half the missions were just remakes from the first game! By contrast, Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness was horrible. It was rushed out the door after many delays in an effort to bring in money desperately needed. There were missing textures in the game and some character models were unfinished! The controls were clunky, the gameplay changes were uninspired, and the overall result was underwhelming.

My personal feeling is the reason Legend was so short is that it was by a different developer (Crystal Dynamics). I think Eidos wanted to find out A) if the fan base was still out there, B) if Crystal Dynamics could do justice to the franchise, and C) if the finished product was worth the effort of keeping it around. So they made it short. It's a test product. I haven't bought that game because of its length, but the demo seemed a great deal better than the abomination that was AoD.

Agent 47 isn't Black?
Vin Deisel isn't White?

I thought Agent 47 was like a young Colin Powel, must be the tint on my TV.
Vin Deisel has my vote for the movie, I won't miss it.

BM is the first Hitman game I have ever played, and it is awesome.

Were the others as fun as this?

BTW, I am unable to post new topics. It says Page Cannot Be Displayed. Any ideas why?

Mysterious forum glitch. :nut: If it happens, just change your thread title into something else.

Well, I bought Contracts since I found out it was bc with the 360, however, I am not liking it so far. I just did the first two missions, and they were terrible. Actually, that isn't true. Only the first mission in the hospital was terrible because I had no idea what I was supposed to do. There was no stealth need in that mission, it was just run before the soldiers kill you. As for the Butcher mission, I spent over an hour trying to do that mission right.

Traditions of the trade is a nice one, other than that Contracts was nothing special really.
You should try H2, there are two demos available and each has a diferent level (Anathema and invitation to a party). These 2 are in my favorites list too, especially invitation to a party  .
The clorophorm was much better than the seringes imo... there are some really good levels in H2 and the graphics are still ok after all these years.

I just think the release of Blood Money was like many other products being released by businesses. They obviously rushed production to ship the game out to stores, aiming to sell more in the surrounding hype. Unfortunately for some consumers, this quick release was compensated by poor quality. I for one am affected by the bugs.

Keanu Reeves playing Malcolm X would not be ‘disrespectful'- it would just be poor casting. As for Vin Diesel playing 47, I’ll judge his performance after I see the movie, not before.

Blood Money in 6 hours with SA rating in each level and all weapons collected (on first try each mission of course)? How? :nut:

Ok there are people doing speed runs, but not at first try without a guide or cheats. You can beat the game within a day. If you shoot your way through the levels. That's what I did in Hitman 2 - the first Hitman game I played. The second playthrough was more fun. Careful watching and planning to achieve SA.

I think Blood Money is very well done (except the FX cards crash bug  ). There are so many new things: accidents, notoriety, a more realistic AI, weapon upgrades, the newspaper after each mission, a real story (not just an opening and ending sequence  ), the buy system from the first game is back.
It's not just a sequel like Hitman contracts was.
Could have had more missions - agreed.
And some new features are too powerful: strangling persons in elevators.
In the casino mission two of the three marks disappeared in the lifts. They cannot be found on top of the lifts.
Something even more ridiculous happened in the Heaven & Hell level. I strangled one of the marks in the elevator, but I didn't time it right. So the doors opened while 47 was still pulling the body up through the hatch. Guards rushed into the elevator to shoot me, but they could barely hit me on top of it. So I kept on strangling one guard after another. After some minutes the level was nearly guard-free and the elevator roof somewhat crowded...

Agreed. Anyone who buys the game and then uses walkthroughs and videos to rip through it in as short a time as possible is missing the entire experience. Obviously, he doesn't have the patience, subtlety, or style to be a hitman.

Most of the fun of Blood Money is checking out the level design, finding the different restricted areas and disguises, planning the hit, seeing who goes where and how different scenes play out. I might spend a half hour in a new level before I actually make any real moves. Why would you cheat yourself out of that? Just so you can anonymously brag that you "beat" the game? Go play Punisher or something.
