View Full Version : IG: The Crusades

That pic just started out as fun and boredem :p But I've been playing with militia vs militia all day today and Ive been tweaking the skins a little as well, I am also thinking of modding some Arab militia and maybe Cav too.

So that got me thinking, would anyone want to d/l a Crusades mod for IG? It would not be a total conversation mod. I would just edit the militia units, possibly add Arab and Christian cavalry and use the Historical battle mod to create two or three (fictional) scenarios in which the player *you guys* can pick the crusaders or the Arabs. Perhaps that England castle will be usefull after all:p

As for custom sounds etc, thats beyond the scope of the mod if there is one at this time, it might come later if the mod gains popularity.

Well I got some bad news for you guys, but it might turn out good.

Last weekend I had a computer mishap, my HD bugged out on me, I got my PC repaired but unfortuntely all my personal files got wipped out or corrupted.
Foruntely I was able to hook up my old HD as a secondary so I still have access to everything else, this includes IG.

Although I lost my reference pictures and templates etc for the Crusades mod, I still have the actuall crusaders and arabs still saved in the IG directory. I also lost five of the six flags I made as well.

I completed the music mod for the Crusdades mod last night but it makes no sense releasing the music without the grahpics to go with it. I've been modding IG for over a yr now so I don't know how long I can resist not going at it again :lmao:

There is still some hope for the mod just yet.

wow. that looks pretty cool dude! congrats!

but i think it will be just too much work to make some kind of full conversion, or at least an easy to play with conversion, or?

you would need to remake the cannons as trebuchets and catapults, and even put some castles and fortified town-walls for the muslims into northern-africa/jerusalem...

well. probably easier to wait for Total War: The Crusaders (this winter!!!)
I hope the Total War Series will pick up some good ideas from Imperial Glory which i currently prefer over Total War.

This mod is not dead!!!:rasp:

I am sorry I have not give you guys any updates as of late, I've been procrasinateing alot lately, maybe too much lol.

To answer someones earlier post, this is not a full conversion mod, it just mods a few units and adds some new scenarios under the "historical battles" section.

The music and skins are complete, all I have to do is create the scenarios.
I've decided to do three battles, two based on real ones and one made up.

1)The Battle of Hattin
2)Siege of Acre OR The Battle of Arsuf
3)A fictional battle, maybe just a small skirmish.

I hope to resume work on the mod sometime soon.

Is this mod released yet? I did try 'The Crusades' a mod for RTW. It was alright, but it didn't stay on my HDD. I like the Crusader era, mainly because it's religious-based, and that is one of my main interests, but not to go too far, I would really like to try your mod.

Found it. Is the mod not complete yet? Regardless, I look forward to playing on it tonight.
