View Full Version : TRL - Securom Issues - Please Help

20th Apr 2006, 08:02
My Original message was:

All I want to do is check out the TR7 demo but I keep getting a Securom Error:

"A required security module cannot be activated.
This program cannot be executed (6000).

Please have a look at http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=module&c=6000 for further, more detailed information."

I've followed their link & tried their advice and also have downloaded the demo twice from different sources - all to no avail.

I've now spent approx 10 hours trying to sort the problem - can anybody help?

You will all be pleased to know that I have solved the issue by using the an XP function as follows:

Right click on the trl.exe file
Choose properties
Click the compatability tab
Tick "Run this program in compatability mode for:"
Choose Windows 2000 from the drop down list
Click Apply

Thats it !!! Enjoy

(I'm sure the purists would dissaprove - but I don't care, at least its running:) :) :)

Yep. I have a region-killing app for my DVD drives and I get the same problem. If I disable the region-killer, it works fine. I fixed it by applying a NO_DVD crack from you-know-where. Works fine now.
