Hmm it looks different cuz it was totally rebuilt on the 360, i think. she looks more natural and real to me. and her eys arent huge like on current gen. but thats just my opinion.

I think she looks kinda odd with the next gen settings. I prefer the current gen Lara with the next gen backrounds... think they'll give us an option like that? lol I doubt it.

Have to admit, the next gen graphics did nothing for me. It seemed kinda out of focus as though frames were overlapping, gave me a sore head after about ten minutes of play, then back to the standard graphics I went. Don't get me wrong, many I imagine will love the next gen stuff it's just not my cup of tea. Hopefully CD will continue the trend and give people the option in later outings of the game. Considering this is their first crack at a TR title I would give it an 8/10, only the length lets it down in my opinion, but that's a topic for another thread.

Maybe just on the PC. I'm sure u'd feel alot diff if u played the demo on the 360.
IT looks amazing.:D

That would be nice, but considering the PC version was a port from the consoles version and assuming they won't have time to devolop a whole new game for the current gen, I think we might only have 'next-gen' settings for future sequels.

I don't see why not. Considering how good it looked and played I would hate to think CD would change too much about the engine too soon. If they utilise the same engine at least for the forseable future then there should be no problem porting it as they did on this one. The graphics looked fabulous without the next gen on and require a beefy system to run properly, fortunately I have such a system I just liked the look better with next gen off, the beauty of the current set up is that you have the choice and you would be amsed at how many people out there really don't have what could be considered a mediocre system. Sure there is more money in console sales, that's undeniable, but why alienate what is still a fairly large market of PC gamers when you don't have to. TES IV: Oblivion although a terribly flawed game did a simillar thing with HDR vs. AA and bloom. If developers start setting the benchmark for graphics too high they will lose a fair number of possible sales.

To be honest I have played on the PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360 versions of the game and I clearly noticed that the original Xbox movement was far more fluid than both the PS2 and even the 360. Also the graphics on the 360 did seem a little smoother and I think there were a few more shadows but barely noticeable. My brother and me specialise in digital design and character modelling for games and I feel quite disappointed with the 360 version of the game. Maybe the graphics are slightly better but this has been pulled back by the laggy-ness of some of the gameplay. It is said that the 360 version's graphics is 12 times that of the PS2 which I find is either a lie or it is just a rough estimate as it clearly isn't very spectacular. All those bias 360 fans out there know it but just don't admit it.

If you have all 3 of these consoles I recommend you buy the original Xbox version and NOT THE 360 OR PS2 however if it is graphics u are incredibly fussy about, then the 360 is the way to go with a little edge on the graphics, PS2 runs smoother than the 360 version however the graphics may not be as good. Overall the original Xbox version is the way to go.

I like NG (Next Gen) when it comes to Lara wearing her classic outfit. In NG, the classic outfit looks like latex, just like the "real-life" models had at the conventions.

However, the latex catsuit and wetsuit look a lot better without NG and Lara's wet look and "dirty" look also look better without NG (they don't actually show up in NG).

The environment looks a lot better in NG but the lighting is way to dark since the developers never accounted for ambient lighting caused by radiant lighting (i.e. light bouncing off of stuff to light up dark areas).

cheers,

Well maybe for PC, but um lara gets really dirty and very noticeably wet on the 360. like when i say dirty its all over her clothes and face and in her hair. so, yeah it shows up on the 360, maybe just not NG on PC. just wanted to clear that up LOL
