Thanks a lot for sharing Kasia... Lara looks gorgeous in these shots :)

As usual the reviewers made a lot of mistakes. They call Lara's secrets "rewards" and imply that it's new to be given goodies for finding them. Didn't they ever play the bonus levels for getting all the secrets in previous Tomb Raider games?

And as for motorbikes, I played some of the levels in other TR games almost entirely with the provided vehicles, especially the snowmobiles. :D

Binoculars? Didn't she have a scope in Tomb Raider 4? What's the difference, when the application is the same? I used that scope a lot to scan the locations, and of course had the added thrill of using it to snipe.

Lara swung from poles before the Prince did in his new incarnation.

Ninja Gaiden has hidden and brilliant locations like Tomb Raider, get it right, boys.

Really, one would think that to review a game and compare it to others one would have at least played the previous installments to get the facts straight.

I really didnt like the bit where it said the games so easy you dont need to use the binoculars :(

Thanks Kasia for taking the time to scan. :)

YAAAY. New pictures!

Maybe if they played it on the hardest setting their review would be different.

See this is the kind of thing that is sad. This is the highest score Legend has received so far (right below a 9! :D), yet in exchange for that, the reviewer had absolutely no idea what he was talking about for about half of the review.

For starters, the 'Tomb Raider isn't exactly original' bar had no merit. Since I'm pissed about that let me explain my point.

The pole swinging was introduced in Tomb Raider 5 which was released in 2000, and Prince of Persia didn't come out till 2003. That is just ONE innovation Lara had long before her competition.

Finding secrets in exchange for rewards is not something that Ninja Gaiden invented or had before the Tomb Raider series. The first Tomb Raider (released back in 1996) had secrets, and the third Tomb Raider gave rewards as it had a unlockable level for finding every secret in the game. That was released in 1998, which is far before Ninja Gaiden was released.

Shenmue might have been the first game to truly take advantage of interactive cutscenes, but Tomb Raider is far from being the first game to take influence from that or copy it. Resident Evil 4 anyone?

The last one is the funniest of all. A Tomb Raider without past Tomb Raider elements and block pushing would be an entirely different game altogether. To hear that's actually there is more of a relief to me then hearing there's no more of it to be found.

Moving on, these reviewers complain about the game being short yet none of them have looked for secrets or even tried the game on hard mode yet! Need I remind these people of GUN, an absolutely fantastic game that was slightly challenging but felt too short when played on Normal mode? These people hold a bias against TR, yet review the game on Normal mode because they have to rush their review in order to get to the next game on their list!

Maybe easy is mindnumbingly stupid so kids can play it, normal is for beginner/intermediate players and hard is for the people who want a REAL CHALLENGE. I personally will not trust any review that states the game is too easy, when these people can't give the game enough time or respect to actually try it on hard mode.

Seriously..I'm sorry if I'm pissed but this reviewer seemed more upset that Lara 'covers up' for the cold now, then the actual game itself. What a cop out.

It will be interesting to see what Gamespot says tonight on their 360 review.

They didn't sound too impressed. I wonder if they got this bit right:
Checking out the mansion is also the only time you're left alone to think up your own solutions to puzzles and problems. In the regular game on normal difficulty you're constantly told what to do and where to go. Even after 5 or 6 hours of play little arrows and pop-up help icons appear when you enter a new room, patronising you somewhat and making it all more like following a trail of smarties around a map than thinking for yourself.

I would have expected that level of help on Easy, not Normal. Surely doing the game on Hard makes that all disappear?

Nope :( But the gold looks too different from the gold below and the different shine style on the face is easily spotted. Looks fake as hell :P

Yes and I'm sure an ancient statue would not have a face like that. :p

Nevermind the 'relic'. Have we ever seen that Lara artwork yet? It's so Indiana Jones, yet I love the smile on her face. Wonder if that's a render that's media-exclusive like thousand others or if that's part of an ingame cutscene? I think it would be smashing if the latter!

But yes, if it's a render then it's also on my wishlist.

I wonder why Kazakhstan is so boring for them :p It looks very interesting for me and it remainds me of The Base from TR Chronicles. Looks like they don't like when Lara is dressed too much :p

they have to rush their review

LOL, it just looks from your post that you rushed to answer before reading everyone else's post. Mine, for example, where I complained about the very same things in your list. :p :D

Touche. But you would be wrong m'lady, for I was merely making a post that agreed with the many points you put forth in your post.

I probably should've emphasized that, no? :p

Thanks for the scans, Kasia!!

As for the review, most of you are very right. Good points, CatSuit and ShadowOfOblivon.

Reviews like this one makes me loose the excitement about the game. Plus my computer is not ready to play it, and I can't afford a new computer atm. :(

Wow so much is poppin' today:D . Thanks for the scans. It made my day, alright.

And I'm so glad to hear that you're never goin' to have to get stuck in a portion of a game and rott in it:D 'cause that happens to me a lot from TR I-VI. Then I'd get all these headaches and migraines from lookin' too much @ the screen...

NOTE: to the front cover of the page....where it said it includes double-sided posters w/47 and Lara - - I wonder if Eidos can't help but notice that they should make a game for both of the 2 major Eidos games they have in one where they both collide and meet each other and face each other and tag team w/each other and yaddiyada...

I still vote for a remake of the original Tomb Raider in the Legend engine. That art right there proves its neccesity.

Speakin' of re-make:D , I'm interested in the re-make for the PSP:D :D my most-den fav. TR is bein' remade :D:D I'd love to play it re-made and they said it's bein' released within this year:confused:

Haha, yeah, you'd think, wouldn't you.

But just about everything written about TR in the gaming press over the last three years has proved to me that most of these writers don't know the series at all :p They seem to be a bunch of newbies whose knowledge (and interest) only covers games released in the last three years, therefore what little they do know about Lara and Tomb Raider probably owes as much to the movies as it does to the games.

Little arrows?? Pop-up icons??? No not the hand --- please not the hand icon-- not again!!! I was hoping Zip's advice was only in the first one or two levels as a type of "training", if they guide you through the entire game on Normal setting I will be very disappointed!! :(

I wish that review was more specific about the pop-ups that appear after 5-6 hours of gameplay. For example, in Prince of Persia, pop-ups appeared at the beginning showing all of the moves. Then new moves were gradually introduced throughout the game (like swinging on ropes) and the first time you saw each thing, there was a pop-up saying how to use it. If it's like that, where the pop-ups only happen the first time you see each thing, then that would be good. If the pop-ups happen continuously without a way to turn them off, that would be very bad. Oh, it just occurred to me: the super-action sequences definitely have pop-ups saying which buttons to press (I'm pretty sure that was confirmed). Could that be what the reviewers are referring to? In any case, I think the pop-ups just say which button to hit. I doubt we'll be seeing the hand icon again:)

About the picture of her in her green/blue top…I really agree that they have to remake the first Tomb Raider. I would love to play it again with updated graphics. Imagine Natla and the Atlanteans!
That picture above…Lara has her pistols and utility belt, which is interesting, since she doesn't ever have that in-game. I wonder if that is the first picture of a remake, since she has all of her gear…

Yep Craig, was wondering about that too. In the end I'm not sure if it's a render or an ingame shot. If it's a render I sure hope we, the fans, will get a hi-rez version. If it's a screenshot, maybe the outfit was unlocked and selected when playing through the game?

Imagine my fav. cutscene in those graphics:D I wonder if they'll just reuse the voice overs 'cause the voice acting in the game is just simple and clean.

GAR I should've asked that for the special questions thing!!!  Whether it's worth the idea or not, it would've been worth for what is to be asked (*cries)

I don't really like the idea of a cross-over between the different series. I'm hoping Legend will be exactly what Tomb Raider should be. Part of that would be lost if they tried to include themes and characters from another series, so I don't think they'll do that. It might make an interesting trailer, though, to show cool scenes from both games. That way fans of one game will see the high points of the other game and might be interested in buying both:)
