First of all, you guys have a lot of problems at the register page as "We're sorry, but something went wrong." . You just have to refresh and submit the form data again, but still it's frustrating.
Second, I'm proud to be one of the first members who posts and knows about this magnicent news about LoK. Even if it's not a sequel or a prequel or has the style of the old good games.
Nice to meet you guys, see you around!

Hi,

I'm from Leeds in the UK. Long time fan of the Legacy of Kain series, so looking forward to see what this offers. Not played any competitive online multiplayer games before, so this should be a whole new area of gaming for me.

Hi everyone! I'm a long-time (10+ years) fan of the series, I own all the games and I've played them all and loved them! LoK is, hands down, my favorite single-player game series of all time.
I haven't been active in the fan community so far, but I've been lurking enough to keep up with stuff and know who's who, at least :) I'm very excited for Nosgoth and look forward to playing it -here's hoping I get chosen for the Alpha or at least the Closed Beta!

Oh, I also play League of Legends and World of Warcraft (PvE-centric, I get enough PvP out of LoL) and I used to play competitive Starcraft II before HotS, if there's any fans around.

Nice to meet you all!

Hello, my name is Alen.

I haven't been active on LoK forums but I followed them frequently and I'm familiar with names Umah_Bloodomen and The_Hylden. Also I'm quite active on two facebook groups since words about "War for Nosgoth" started.

I'm big fan LoK storyline and gameplay, Kain is my favorite character.
Played LoK back in nineties and since then completed all games who know how many times, waited ten years for new and can't wait to try it!

This game is something different than other LoK games but I believe it is in good hands and will be awesome.

If anyone is interested you can check out facebook groups (even former art director Daniel Cabuco is active):

Hi everyone...

Lucinvampire reporting for duty :D

First of all I would just like to say oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Nosgoth yay!!!!!!!!!!!

It's amazing to see this place finally come online and the game now officially announced :D

To those who know me hi....and to those who don't hi too...I've been a long time fan of the series ever since I fell in love with BO back in 1997 and have floated around the community since around 2002 on and off.

@ George and the team - great work with the information on here - the web site looks great! It's just what the Dr ordered ;)

(Been trying to post this for a good hour and a bit but have been having some technical issues)

Hi everyone!

Long time fan (understatement) of the series. Cautiously intrigued by these new changes. Action-RPGs are my specialty from Diablo to Skyrim. While not my best strength (or preference), I am no stranger to PVP multiplayer. I look forward to seeing what magic user classes will be available and there is one in particular (see user name) I hope we shall see. I look forward to conversing and sharing feedback with all of you.

Hello all, after finishing all the games when i was a kiddo, i realized that i had played such a great game. Since then, ive started to read lore and nearly fell into it.

I saw an article on a local turkish game magazines online portal about developers are making a new game, and decided to follow what is going on. At first, i was thinking that this will be an fighting game etc. But now i see its way way better and i can clearly see these guys will bring life to the NOSGOTH indeed. Now, i really wonder that i can remember remodelled Raziel and Kain, what has happened to them? It seems we are not gonna play with them.

Sorry for my bad english, im not a native speaker. Thank you for all this job! You guys are making a memorable work!

Ello folks,

I'm an old fan of LOK, I can't wait to see what Nosgoth has in store for us.
I've been a fan since 98, so it really feels strange to see LOK being resurrected after all these years.

I'm not as hardcore a gamer as I once was, but lately I play DCUO and Ace of spades.
I'm already curious about the absence of the 3 lesser clans and the lore, can't wait for Sept 30th.

Thanks for bringing LOK back!

Hello! I wasn't active in the fan community before, but maybe I'll start now. :P

I've played all games from the series except BO1 (I can’t find legal copy anywhere... And I don’t want to download it illegally...) and read a lot of lore. I love LoK for its dark atmosphere, serious graphics, very characteristic music focusing on expression and creating that unique atmosphere connecting all instalments, elaborate dialogues and monologues, and complicated plot (SR2 is truly mind-blowing!).

Hi I'm Abolist. I am a paramedic and outside of saving the lives of over zealous drug addicts, teenagers with brand new cars and the elderly I play games. I like a lot of the classics (SNES-PS1) but do dabble in the games of today.

Currently playing- GTA5, Final Fantasy 13 , League Of Legends, Infinite Crisis, Skyrim and I stop by the local geek store to play Magic the Gathering when a new set comes out.

I saw all the hate comments on facebook. I don't know why people are acting so surprise. They (Psyonix) said since the beginning that it wasn't gonna be a traditional Legacy of Kain title. Its called Nosgoth, Not Legacy of Kain.

Thank You Square Enix Europe & Psyonix. I've been waiting 10 years for something new from the Legacy of Kain series. But I'm gonna have to wait longer then others because I'm not a steam player. Hopefully Nosgoth will also come to PS4 & Xbox One in the future.

Hello,

I'm from the official german fan-forums and have played nearly the whole LoK-Series (excluding BO1, I was too young for that) and first of all: Sorry if my english isn't the best.

There are some logical mistakes in this MMO, for example the existence of the Razielim.
Kain killed all of them. Why do they live? Or is this in the war between BO2 and SR1? Then: Where's Kain?

And is Raziel there? If he's there then it must be between BO2 and SR1, but then Kain must also be there.

The game seems to be in it's alpha state, maybe you could fix the named mistakes.

This takes place after Raziel was cast into the Abyss, but before he returned to the world of living, so they might have been alive for quite some time.

Not many people really knew about it I'd wager. I only saw the earliest reports because I had to dig for some sort of news. Believe me I wasn't and still am not won over by the concept and this is quite alot to take in. So if people are upset they do have a right to be so.

Hey Everybody!
I'm obviously a little late to the party but hey. Heh.
Long time Legacy of Kain fan, got started on the series as a kid with the launch of Soul Reaver, been playing shooters since I was 2 on the PC. I'm sitting at 23 now... =P
I'm the one that's been ranting to all my friends all the time about this awesome series called Legacy of Kain and sadly next to none have known what I'm talking about...
Now lets just say I'm dragging them all in head first with all the brute force they know me oh so well for. ^_^
Cannot say how much I'm looking forward to this game, VERY looking forward to the Tyrant... XD

Hello everyone! I go by Lord Scythican. I teach students with Autism as a career and play games on the side.

I have went by the user name Akira Everhate on other forums, especially the fanforums at nosgoth.net. I was a member there for a very long time. I have been a fan of LoK since day one. LoK: BO was my very first PSOne game that I purchased. I remember buying the PSOne and seeing LoK: BO on the back cover with about 20 other launch titles. Anyways, LoK and the sequels are probably my most favorite games ever. Heck I even expect a Goosebumps Girl Type Meme to be made about me one day...
Anyways I heard about this place after a friend linked to me the nosgoth announce trailer. Honestly I had no hope of ever getting a new LoK franchise game. For years I have played games like Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic wishing there would be a new LoK game every time I heard Simon Templeman's voice (BEST VOICE ACTOR EVER) Just saying...

Now here is the thing. I don't usually play online multiplayer games but I will make an exception for Nosgoth. There is a catch though...I better get a Single Player story driven game in the next two years or I will cast your company into the Abyss.

Hello everyone!!! My name is Tair and I'm from Kazakhstan (who doesn't know where Kazakhstan is, it's near Russia)
The first time i met LoK games was in 1998, on psone, so i'm a long-time LoK fan. I've played all games so many times. And i really disapointed that new game it isn't LoK anymore...this is just another Left 4 Dead or Unreal Tournement...F2P concept - in my opinion this is the worst concept for game about Kain and Raziel...however there is no Kain or Raziel anymore...You know i have some strange feelings....Im really glad that there is a new game in LoK setting. But Nosgoth isn't a game that i was expected for years!!! Thank you all. Guns? Granate launchers? This is ridicules!

Howdy all! The name's Dazz (It isn't really, it's actually Daniel, but everyone calls me Dazz) - I maintain a bunch of gaming sites like DidYouKnowGaming and The Spriters Resource, and have had experience in the gaming world since a wee lad sucking on an Amiga joystick... I think that counts as playing.

Pretty psyched for this game, hoping that it can keep the feel of the old Legacy of Kain titles. I trust Square Enix and Psyonix equally to keep to usually high standards, so here's hoping it'll be a good one!

Name's Emil, and I'm an avid gamer and studying to become a game developer myself. Currently a media and design student.
I hail from the cold Norway. It's cold. It's all you need to know.

No seriously it's really cold.

Anyways, Legacy of Kain is one of my favourite game series of all time. It's sad to see that it's so obscure here up north, but not so obscure that I haven't met fellow fans. When Nosgoth was announced I kinda got a little bit disappointed, since I've long wanted a conclusion to, well, Kain's legacy. But oh well, you take what you get. Who knows, it might be good! Can't judge a book by it's cover, especially when the cover is in an alpha stage.

I really hope that I can take part of the game's development by joining the alpha test.
Just quoting from a thread in the Offtopic section.

Hello everyone,
I am Aomi and I've been a long time fan since I got my hands on Blood Omen back in 1997 and stayed on for the hurricane that the series would become down the line . I've been missing the series for a while now, one can only replay the games for so long. I'm intrigued by this interpretation for the series I gotta say. Though my experiences with PVP type of games are not my forte, I'll try at least.

I have been on and off those forums since they opened. My interests have changed over the years. After all there is only so much LoK you can discuss once you go a decade without a new game. Of course with Nosgoth coming out, I will probably go back there some more at some point.

What was your user name at nosgoth.net? I remember a vampmaster, was this user you?

Yeah. I was Spectre for the first year, then changed it to Vampmaster when I had my own message board for a while and I've stuck with that since then.

I am very happy to be here with you all. Few of you I already know and I bet nobody knows me. I am a newbie registraded forum member on the old Legacy of Kain forums, but an active reader since Defiance was released a long time ago.

I am from Brazil and I own a blog active since 2003, dedicated to portuguese-speakers readers.

Hugs to you all !!!

So anyway Hello to all!
I'm from Russia (hah and for sure - no ppl around, who bites vampire's necks, instead of vice versa)
I hope this game gonna be dark enought and cruel as well :D

Advise - add in reg form pole about Skype,TeamSpeak and etc. Very useful for ingame expirience as game is team PVP oriented!

Hello everyone! I'm not the most prolific poster in the LoK community, but I've been around for quite a while at Nosgothic Realm, Eidos, and a few other places. Way back, I used to go by the name SilverEnigma, and that soon turned into Ardeth Silvereni. I'm from the UK and I run a fansite called Dark Chronicle, which perpetually seems to be in need of updates.

What can I say: I'm really looking forward to playing this game. It will certainly be a different experience from playing the earlier Legacy of Kain games. However, I think Nosgoth presents a great opportunity for our fan community to interact and grow in an entirely new way, and the more we get involved, the more we can hopefully shape its future development.

I hope to meet lots of you - those people I have the pleasure of knowing, and everyone I haven't spoken to before - in the game. I'm not experienced in multiplayer games at all, so I expect I will need a lot of practice! Go easy on me, eh? ;)

Name is Cristopher, 17 (18 next month =O).I am from Brazil, and I am almost certain I will be one of the only living souls from here in the game (hope not...) I am a HUGE fan of LoK: Played all the games and I am part of 3 communities on facebook about this. I like moba shooters (3 times regional champion on Quake III Arena) and games like Age of Empires II (Brazilian 4th place, 1st place regional). I am looking for going on closed beta because I love LoK and this game is interesting: by the trailer, I would say it is kinda of a fusion of both Quake III Arena and Age of Empires II... Because that thing will need a loooooooot of strategy.

Hey, longtime LoK fan. Saw this trailer today for the first time and pretty much cried from tears of joy. Despite this being a different kind of game entry into the series, the fact that we're getting an entry makes me super excited. I can't *wait* to get into beta to try this out. Looking forward to help making this game the best it can be. If not for the sake of a new LoK game, but just for supporting new crap. Always been a fan of Unreal tournament and preferred more fantasy deathmatch games as opposed to games like CoD and Battlefield. And what better place to have fantasy game in than in the world of Nosgoth.

Where are you from?- Texas in the US of A!
How did you hear about this place?- Square Enix Facebook Page!
Are you a long-time Legacy of Kain fan, or are you new to the land of Nosgoth?- First timer, so bear with me please!
Are you familiar with competitive online multiplayer games, or interested in signing up for the closed Beta?- Yes, and already did!

In a little more formal way, I am VPPython (just call me Python), and I am new to the LoK universe, so if I seem slow I am sorry. Really looking forward to the closed Beta and playing with you guys! (I also haven't posted on a forum before, so sorry if I seem a little off).

Hello all!

My moniker is Kaecyus but if you really want to know more about that, poke around. I've been an avid follower of LOK since around Soul Reaver 2, but backdated myself to the original LOK: Blood Omen. I always found myself fascinated by the world of Nosgoth and the paths the characters weave.

I used to write a lot for low-key gaming sites, but in the end I found myself writing more than playing, which is not a good thing to do for a hobby.

I'm from the UK, and I heard about Nosgoth through the announcement trailer showing up on ScrewAttack. From what I read on Psyonix's portfolio, if you guys had anything to do with Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer, you have me curious. 230hrs of curious.

The game before that I knew to that level was the MMORPG Aion, from Closed Beta through the first two years or so, and before that Ragnarok Online. As for competitive gaming, I tend to play TF2, Awesomenauts and CoD when that time of the year rolls around, although this time I'll be dipping my toe in the Battlefield pool. I've signed up for the Closed Beta, and hopefully I'll be able to find the same love I did for Nosgoth's virtual world as I did for Atreia.

Ello ello, everyone! I'm Kit. *waves erratically* I'm probably a bit out of place here. I've played a bit of LOK, one of the best memories I have of that game was I glitched through a wall, got trapped, and couldn't move for hours. Now that I look back on it it's hilarious. :P So while I do remember a bit of playing some of the games it was honestly ages ago. I'm here because I thought Nosgoth looked great, and even though I don't remember much of LOK I figure I won't be too picky on how much it's like the games (or not).

I play a bit of Guild Wars 2 (lazily.) I find it funny that Nosgoth interests me because I'm not much of an online PVP player. I much prefer gathering, crafting, and just generally wandering around and looking at the scenery. I like to take my time when I play things, and I don't try to level up the fastest. I played the game Mabinogi awhile, a great example of a crafting game that doesn't focus too much on grinding. I just like to take online games slow and enjoy it at my own speed.

But other than online games, I'm a big fan of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, BioShock, Fallout, the Sims, Darksiders, Zelda, Crisis Core and a lot others. I also play fluffy games like Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, and Pokemon Park(yeah, I play it, don't judge. @_@). Currently I'm trying to swear my way through Dark Souls(that hasn't worked yet).

But I'm definitely hoping to be picked for the beta testing! It'd be very interesting to do. :)

Hello, old fan of the games, played them when I was younger and I'm glad to see a reboot of the universe in a widely accessible genre. I hope to get into the closed beta so I can start pumping out balance ideas.

This may be unrelated, but a few idea's for functionality of powers I have suggested to another game, Warframe design council, were used by the developers in the game.

Here's some LoK love from India! I've been playing the series for about six years, after I bought Blood Omen 2 and loved it immensely; LoK does for me what scores of other games can't, and I drive people crazy by not shutting up about it :D
I hope Nosgoth will be just as amazing and attract more people to this magnificent journey, and above all else, CREATE INTEREST FOR LEGACY OF KAIN 6!

Hi everyone! I'm long-standing fan of Legacy of Kain series from Russia, Saint-Petersburg :)
So, sorry if my english isn't good enough.
The first time I played LoK game in 2002, and it was Soul Reaver on PS1. I pretty fast was involved into the game, open world with such a graphics was truly amazing for the time when SR was released. My introduction into LoK series is a long story, really. It has very strong influence in my life, and I certainly could say that I'm genuine fan of Legacy of Kain series, anyway was him ten years ago and go on beeing fan up to now.
In the spring of year 2004, I started a simple russian LoK forum(even now it's working and available at http://legacy-of-kain.borda.ru). Slowly, but stable, users were joining our community, and after a half of year or so, we moved to a portal, that's now can be found at http://legacy-of-kain.ru.
Unfortunately, I am not a staff member anymore, and forum kind of half dead.
What is the interesting thing, that I'm own a virtual server now and conduct a web-site, it's another themed(not even video games), but technically it's not too hard to create forum dedicated to Nosgoth. But I checked domens nosgoth.ru and warfornosgoth.ru, and they both already occupied by someone.
As for competitive online multiplayer games, I played they since the same time when I started playing in LoK. For the begining, it was Counter-Strike, a bit of Quake III, and then I got acquainted with the great series of Unreal Tournament. I've often played UT, even tried to create my own maps. Hereupon it was UT2003, and then 2004, and finaly I get to UT3, which I play even now, almost every day. In UT series i like very different, but balanced weapons with various playing style. It is not simple dumb shooter - in UT you must use a lot of tactics, escpecialy in TDM, CTF, Onslaught/Warfare and other team-based game types. For another thing besides interesting and very dynamic gameplay, is that such a games a good thing to distract mind from common routine and relax.
For some time I've played MMORPG, Lineage II and Aion, but realised that it is simply waste of time. I very like PVP, but in order to kill enemies you must spend a lot of time for grinding mobs for lvl ups and farming money for suitable weapon, armor, etc. And thus I decided to play PVP-only games.
Oh, by the way, I have some small clan named Shinra, with which members we've played together L2 and Aion.
Three of us, includes me, already has registered for beta test. At that, there's friend of mine along of them, who is also LoK fan and who I know since 2004.
We hope that we'll get early access to the game and I personally want to help sharpen a Nosgoth game. The idea is great, two very different in gameplay races, close combat style versus ranged. It somehow reminds me Alien vs. Predator. Now it's all up to ajusting balance, and Nosgoth can become truly unique game. Really, I cannot remember entirely similar one.
The lore is also good, it perfectly fits in the original storyline. As the LoK fan, I satisfied for what game Nosgoth shall be, and as the regular UT player I also would like to try something alike.

Wraithblade6
29th Sep 2013, 18:49
Hi.

Yes, this is THE Wraithblade6.

I've been a fan of LoK for over a decade. I'm familiar with UmahBloodomen and TheHylden and a handful of other passionate fans whos' strong opinions have caused raging yet delightful threads on the old Nosgoth.net/now Yuku board. I've never liked Dota or first-person shooters, and instead have committed myself to highly competitive raiding in Wow for many years. Diablo was pretty good for a while however.

I want to say I'm very happy something of Nosgoth is being resurrected, and I am actually very in favor of it being a multiplayer/team battle type of game. Although it is not going to be very big on story, I very much agree with many fans in that the vampire races have a number of inconsistencies. I'm sure some Razielim could have survived, and in fact, many players are going to want to chose that race, so keeping them in game would be important. It would be a huge improvement in their attractiveness if the wings were appropriate in appearance. The other two clans are honestly, a bit off in their traits. I hope there is still time to make a few minor changes to them.

I for one am going to roll human. The human classes look ok, just as concepts, although I'm surprised there isn't more use of magic in the world. Perhaps more classes will be added in expansions. I'm hoping human players will be able to hold their own, as surely they will be outnumbered in game.

I'm looking forward to Monday's twitch broadcast and camping your elitist vampire corpses.

Good Day,

Name is D_for_Dewan, I'm know the Legacy Of Kain Series since I was a little. Now finally after about 10 years a new adventure is about to begin. I can't wait until I get accepted from the closed beta. I am a competitive Dota 2 player (have +2000 hours time played, in only 10 months of play), I mainly play support (tier 4/5 support), my nickname is Griffith (if you are looking to play). Looking forward to make some numbers in this game, and maybe even a few passionate gamers like myself.

Hi there.

I'm usually known as Dante, but Klammer is also good. I've been a LoK fan ever since I first played Soul Reaver 10 or 11 years ago. Nowadays, i'm studying some sort of degree on videogames, while I try to manage my life to keep gaming an important aspect of my life :P

I'm not playing any games competitively (unless Magic the Gathering counts), I play almost everything (except Candy Crush and other facebook games), I own a couple of consoles and I recently upgraded my PC, which opened a new world for me.

Developers, gl with this project, I really hope it goes well :D

Hello everyone, My name is Vince though in games I typically go by the handle RealityFalse. I am new to the LOK story line, though from what I have seen and picked up from the Q/A feed the guys over at Square Enix gave, and the many discussions i have been reading, this looks like a game i am meant to play. I am hugely intrigued by the sheer depth and complexity of the world and civilizations that have been created for LOK. As any veteran PVP player can attest, it is a very difficult task to balance the melee vs ranged combat styles. I myself have seen many many games attempt it and fail miserably. From what I have been able to see of Nosgoth so far, I think they may really have finally found some semblance of balance (obviously we will not really know how the balance will work until release). I cant wait to see this game in action and will be exploring the lore of LOK in depth until my golden ticket comes in and I can join the Beta...

Hello, I've been enjoying The Legacy of Kain series since I first rented Soul Reaver back in '99 when I was in middle school. Recently I played Soul Reaver again for nostalgia sake, which lead me on an information bender where I found out about this new F2P game.

I've been playing some F2P games lately but haven't really found one that I've connected with, looking to change that. Here's hoping for some fun times getting back in the world of Nosgoth!

Hey guys! My name is Carlos but the guildies call me Scrib. Like most people on here long time player of the LoK series, played all the games etc. LOVE the lore. I dare say its probably my favorite IP of all time. When Nosgoth was released my reaction was a bit different then what i was seeing on the internet because I have been just DYING for a new game set in the universe no matter the form. So when I heard about this game I was all about it, sure I would love a sequel but I wasn't disappointed at all. To be perfectly fair though I grew up multiplayer gaming both competitively and non. I cant even begin to list all the multiplayer games I play now let alone what I have played. Right now I mostly play Smite, Dota 2 and Tribes on reg. feel free to add me on steam if you want: Zenabika

Hi people

New here but I've followed everything since day 1. I subscribed to the beta and I'm defending Nosgoth everywhere I can. I'm most known in the french community under the names of Kain_Reaver (jeuxvideos.com) and Rahab (nosgoth-fr.net). I'm a student and I live in Quebec. I'm a die hard fan of LoK as well since the first Soul Reaver. I have the 5 games on Playstation and Computer, figurines, comics, strategy books and other collectables. I've started some LoK projects on Minecraft like the Sanctuary of the Clans and the Tomb of the Sarafan. They are on Youtube and I'm trying to finish my third project.

I hope I will be a beta tester, I would gladly help to shape this game and, I hope, the future of the franchise.

But I am sure, that I will knew some things soon,

I hope I will get the chance to get a look at the beta because I like it to influence Games fpr beeing better and individual then others and in my Opinion this game has a high potential to get a big competetive weight at the gaming scene,
so i hope we can play it soon in when its released in eSports.

ChocolateRob

Hello all. My name's Robert and I'm a chocolatier from Manchester in the UK and I've occasionally been found knocking around on the Eidos LoK forums.

I started on the Legacy of Kain back when Soul Reaver first came out (I was hooked by the awesome trailer with Sanctus Christus playing over it). I loved the game but was more than a little cheesed by the ending of it and resolved to not bother if a sequel came along, well my not-so iron will broke and I gave SR2 a half-hearted try. This was the point where I truly fell in love with the series, I'm an absolute sucker for twisty time travel plots and the strength of SR2's ending made me forgive SR1's rather abrupt one. Been a massive fan since.

I enjoyed the plot of the Soul Reaver games so much that I recorded them onto VHS so that I could watch them as a movie. Over time I became less human and more div... no, scratch that. Over time I added the rest of the games to this one long VHS when they became available (I was doing this with both Vagrant Story and the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy too), though it was a bit out of order as I got my hands on Blood Omen 1 last. In the end I had it all but the quality was pretty poor, especially Defiance as it was all scenes from the dark chronicle with lots of loading screens and no real flow.

I made to decision to start again but this time I had the tech to record to DVD and edit it with Windows Movie Maker.
Again I was just making it for my own amusement but once I’d made SR1 and 2 I thought I’d chop them up and post them on youtube and see what people thought of them (I’d only got the channel in order to post comments). They worked out fairly well so I finished the rest of the series and registered with the Eidos forums to get some more feedback. Sometime after completion I redid the entire thing again into its current form, fixing bugs, cropping borders and other general improvements. It was a shame to lose all the great comments and discussions and view counts that the original vids had gathered but the vids themselves needed fixing up, this time they were edited specifically for youtube and other people to enjoy.

My videos are for enjoying the plot of each game and include all of the cutscenes as well as enough gameplay to smooth them together coherently (though I've tried to show off the gameplay as well, without making it repetitive).
They are not a simple compilation of cutscenes, nor are they exhaustive walkthroughs. They are an entertaining look at the lore and history of the LoK series in the form of movies (chopped into 15min segments).
All menus, subtitles and loading screens are edited out so they don’t break immersion and the descriptions below the vids contain as much background info and extras as I could cram in.
I’ve also taken a few liberties in restoring deleted audio or moving dialogue around so it fits better or to include menu dialogue when awesome.

I recommend these videos for anyone new to Nosgoth and wanting to understand the history of its world. So check them out on my Youtube channel - chocolatierrob or chocolaterob, (the constant changing of channel layouts is half the reason I've not made any new vids in a long time)
http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMDIvCHQRjt00OjixQeZCJg
same goes to fans of Vagrant Story, Prince of Persia and one or two others (especially VS, I'm rather proud of that one)

I should point out that I’ve no interest in playing multiplayer games, including Nosgoth, but I still wish this game every success in the world and thank it for reviving interest in the series. I have no problem with the way it treats the lore of LoK or the direction it has chosen and I am interested in the history it is creating, I just don’t want to play it myself. I’ll probably buy it just to show support.

PS I have a habit of rambling on if you haven’t already guessed.

Sweet merciful Janos, I was starting to wonder if there was any civility available. I came here from the youtube channel and it's overrun with rabid animals.

Anyhow, I am relieved to see some good discussion going on here, and I hope to say valuable thingamathings. About me? I'm a happily taken gay American residing in the state of Ohio(Oh no!), and I've been a fan of the Legacy of Kain series since I was thirteen. I am now twenty four. It's interesting because ever since I first played Soul Reaver at thirteen, I came to wonder what it would be like to play some sort of game where you could play as one of the vampire clans, or the humans, in a conflict that explained how the world came to be as it was when Raziel emerged from the abyss.

I understand the game is still in development and everything, and I hope the higher ups in Square don't get discouraged by all the naysayers. I like to think of commenters on yahoo. Sometimes a lot of top commenters are absolutely bananas, but by far they do not represent the vast majority. I think the same can be said here, that those complaining the loudest represent the smaller portion of the fanbase. BEFORE YOU STAKE ME NAYSAYERS, however, I do understand the legitimate criticism some people have, and there are concerns that I share with them.

However, I don't want the baby being thrown out with the bathwater. Healthy criticism is necessary for growth. My last paragraph was mostly directed at the more... rudely opinionated.

I look forward to monitoring the progress here.

Oh, how long has it been now..? Ten years? I find it hard to believe I kept the faith in the seires for so long! Yet it is hard to believe I'm actually posting something...

Greetings fellow fans! My name is Vince and I come from dark and savage lands of Russia, from the grim citadel-city Moscow... But don't mind that - I am no stranger to the series and know them well.
I don't belong to any currently existing community - I prefer to keep myself in the shadows, because having opposing views is generally punishable and having your own opinion is prosecuted... But no, no more! Time to come out... although it seems that I am already late for the feast, eh? A lot of work has already been done - and forums are barely a week(or a few?) old! Such enthusiasm, such love! Such hatered! I mean - when I saw Nosgoth trailer for the first time the only thing I could think about was "Oh gods! This might be something..." and I already see an extraordinary amount of work done by the community members fixing holes and providing suggestions...
I know that there isn't much faith for the game from the old fans, I can see why, I can easily agree and yet... there is much promise! I mean... even if in the end this ship sinks - I hope for a sweet ride up untill that moment. It's a pity we're not going to be given a proper single player experience, but simply being able to rip and tear pitiful mortals as a fabled monstrosity sounds quite enticing!

Here it is... The first, bitter taste of that terrible illusion... Hope!

Hello everyone, I am Razielim_Knight or some know me as Huka.

I am a long time follower of the Legacy of Kain saga since childhood. From the first moment I saw Soul Reaver's intro, I was hooked to the legacy instantly. Everything; from its unique vampires to its unmatched storyline-a rare jewel especially amongst most games nowadays-was a real influence on my life; it inspired my urge to writing and joy for the fantasy genre. I have tried to write a story to honor its caliber, so far the most promising is the incomplete fanfiction, 'Bloodletting of Fledgling'. Having played all of the games in my years growing up, my faith in its brilliance remained strong and still do with this new game.

While I was surprised-and abit upset-to learn Nosgoth to be a PVP multiplayer, instead of at least a rpg, the latter emotion was swept aside to the eagerness in seeing how it will develop out. It is set in a timeline that I am most interested in and it looks promising so far. Hopefully I've been accepted into the Beta to help it in the long-run, if not, playing the completed game will be enough for me.

Might as well do this again. Hey, guys, I'm a longtime American fan of the series. Currently a student. I've gone by Hash Ak Gik666 or DarkGodRaziel666 in the past, but as I'm no longer in middle school, it seemed prudent to drop the sixes, ha. I was active on the Nosgothic Realm board since mid-2002 back in the EZ Board days and through to the changeover to Yuku, and stayed there until it more or less died out in the last year or two.

My first exposure to LoK was the SR1 Proto Alpha demo (the early demo set in the light glyph area). I didn't have any idea what it was at the time but thought it was amazing. I totally forgot about it but then noticed SR1 when it came out and instantly bought it. Been a total LoK nut ever since; I think I must have played each one 4 or 5 times by now, and they all get better each time.

Like many others, I've been eagerly following all the leaks and other tidbits on internet registries and so forth for years hoping that we'd get a new game. I'm very optimistic that Nosgoth will be good even if it isn't what many of us might have expected :)

Probably should have done this a while ago, but hello I'm Baziel (or Bazielim depending upon the forum). Hello people ! I go by the handle bajlo pleased to meet ya'll. I googled a lot to find some upcoming games and here I am. I'm not really what you'd call a "fan" but I did thoroughly enjoy Soul Reaver 1 & 2 + Defiance back in the day. I played a lot of LoL (since season 1) and still am playing the CS games (1.6 and GO). I didn't hesitate to sign up for the beta of your upcoming game, honestly I did so for a lot of games because I want to help with my inputs if I can. The only game I stuck to till this day is CS 1.6 which I'm playing for 8 years now (3 years competitively) aaaaand that's pretty much it for now. Don't want to type a Bible here.

Hey, Stormbringer007 here, real name is Brenan

I currently play a lot of Borderlands 2 and CS:GO... They are fun, but I'm looking for something different.

I'm by no means familiar with the lore of this game at all, but I have to admit, simply the concept of the game was enough for me to sign on for the beta without hesitation. I really love the idea of this game and I hope to see it succeed. I've been looking for a game to challenge the mainstream genres for a while now and this game really calls out to me. As long as it doesn't become pay to win I can definitely see this game being successful and most importantly, fun! The anticipation of receiving an invite is killing me! Can't wait to try it out, one way or another.

Hello everyone, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Bokxie. I am a 17 years old boy from the Netherlands. I'm also a beginning video maker on youtube and a proud beta tester. I've tested several games such as Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn in phase 2 of the beta. I'm really looking forward to Nosgoth and see what this game will bring the LoK community.

This game looks so bad ass ( realy wanted to say that). I realy hope that this game will not have things locked to members only so the people that dont pay can still get the items but spend more time to get them e.g Bow of death unlock's at level 10. I pay for 50% xp boost and get it in 5min, other guy with no money gets it in 2hours of farm, im not quite sure how the ingame system will be but that is just an idea that i want you to see is all, but besides that this game looks Great and it was just a video that is making me want to smash this game all night.

P.S i will be telling all my mates to check this game out i know they will love it.

Hello everyone!

I'm a LoK fan and regular forum lurker(nosgothic realm, eidos, dcabdesign) with the occasional post thrown in here an there. I think Nosgoth will be an interesting new addition to the LoK universe and I'm pretty optimistic about it so far. And here's to hoping it will also lead to other things eventually.

Now, I like my action/adventure games story based and I also play WoW with friends; pve ONLY! I'm not competitive, I don't like like pvp and don't do alpha or beta; give me a finished product please! So when the official announcement for Nosgoth was made I naturally couldn't wait to sign up for closed beta... Damn you Psyonix! Damn you! :mad2:

Anyhow, hope to see you guys around in-game!

Ready thine arms! FOR NOSGOTH!

I've been a fan of the Legacy of Kain series since I was 8. I have all of the games and periodically play through them. I'm so amped about Nosgoth. It's not what I expected, but I am definitely open to something new in the series; especially if it means there is a chance the series will be booted up again. Hi everybody!

First of all I must say that I'm thrilled to see that Nosgoth has not been forgotten and that the Legacy of Kain is still alive and kicking! I was so pleased to learn about Nosgoth that I just grabbed back all my LoK games and installed them on my HD to play a full session of each games. :D

I'll try to follow and support that project as much as I can and I hope one day to finally log in the game and wander again in my beloved Nosgoth.

But most of all : thanks you all guys here for bringing it back to life. :D

Hi everyone,
i am from germany and LoK is one of my all time favourite gaming series and imo one of the most underapriciated franchises in gaming history. the fact alone that something new is happening is super exciting for me, but the footage i saw looks absolutely amazing! I can´t wait to try it out myself, i´ve got a hunch that i will be around here for a long time. :)

17th Oct 2013, 17:58
Hello everybody.

I'm Gonar Trvig, from Spain, and a big fan of the series since more or less 12 years ago. Got all the games, being BO the hardest one to get, so recently that I didn't finish it yet, though I know the basic story. Though I'm not really active in forums, I still check them as well as the main web.

My only experience in competitive games is Team Fortress 2, but I played other online games, like the multiplayer mod from Mass Effect 3. After so many years, first time I saw news about Nosgoth I wasn't sure if they were real or fake... But I'm really glad to see that it's true, that the saga is still alive, and specially... Playable Razielims!

So yeah, I'm really excited about Nosgoth, and I hope I'll get into the beta anytime. I'm a shy person, but I thought that I should introduce myself in this thread and greet everybody, as well as give my congratulations to the team working on Nosgoth, for the work they are doing, the risk on work in an underrated saga (but I hope Nosgoth will get a lot of new fans into it!) and for their passion on this project.

Greetings!

Greetings ! :)

My name's Terrence Delawgan called Junanagou from the Celestial Clan (a multi-game group of people with Forum). I'm 32 (yeah, not young anymore), I'm a Computing & IT Technician and I live in France. Saying more would be useless...

I'm a big fan of the Legacy of Kain serie (I prefer the Blood Omen part). I remember the first time I played the first game of the franchise on PSX then on PC (better version with no loading time) and all other great moments I had playing with all games.

While I was playing again to the first Legacy Of Kain using the original copy I still have (on a laptop I kept with Windows XP) I made a few researches on Google and I found Psyonix was making Nosgoth. After almost ten long years, another LoK game ? YES !!!

The world/story of those games are amazing. The atmosphere and the musics too (I still have On the Road to Vengeance from LoK as waking music on my mobile phone). So, I subscribed here and I'm decided to take an active role on Nosgoth.

That's all. Oh, one last word... VAEVICTIS !

Greetings, clans!

"I... am Raziel... Firstborn of His lieutenants. I stood with Kain and my brethren at the dawn of the empire...

An eternity passed, and my torment receded, bringing me back from the precipice of madness.

The descent had destroyed me... and yet - I lived."

This excerpt best describes my experience of the ever enchanting universe created and given to us back in the late 20th century and to see it resurrected today is nothing short of a decade old wish finally coming true, for so many of us!

Despite having my doubts about the format being presented to us at this time, I have come to understand that this just might be the hub we all needed as a community to thrive and augment in number and strength, to show our allegiance and loyalty, to gather and share the experience and ultimately - UNITE!

Nothing better to intrigue us and ignite that spark lying dormant for so long than a rebirth of a world deemed lost and now being given the chance to visit at will. A world which we'll see change and grow before our very eyes. Wondrous.

Infused with this knowledge, I am now at peace yet eagerly in wait to plunge into a world so cherished, once more.

To Nosgoth!

Hi Guys

Been Playing the LoK series since BO1, really like the characters and the story in particular Mobius with his machinations and overall creepyness

thought SR1 was the pinnacle of the series, after all it was the first game in 3D and Tony Jay as the Elder God was pure genius, SR2 was ok, but some of the forges will still to this day annoy the crap out of me

BO2 was terrible and the combat system will forever haunt me, as it could have been done so much better and the only redeeming feature was Simon Templemans acting which to this day is the only reason I'll play it again

Defiance was a good game but felt rushed and I would have liked the plot holes created by SR1, 2 and BO2 to have been given some closure,

am now 32 years old, eagerly awaiting the next in the LoK games and hope that it rekindles my love for the series

Hello Everyone! I'm V Deorsum, i've played LoK series since the first Blood Omen. How many people have played since the first capter of this epic saga, i'm upset at the news that this were a multiplayer game. But after i see the story behind the realization of this LoK and the type of gaming, i'm hopeful that this game will be epic! I love the Legacy of Kain series, and i waiting 10 years to have a concrete notice of a sequel. Good work guy!

Hi everyone. I am Sluagh. I used to post on and off forums about LofK in the past as Thrall With Shield or some such name, I can't remember, but hey. Am virtually speechless with excitement about this game. Other than that, think SR 1 is my fav. I have been obsessed with the series for many years - having made half-arse attempts at some voice over stuff on youtube (I love Richard's Doyle's voice for him and how it changes in the series ever so slightly) and somewhere I have some cheesy song that my band wrote ages back called "I am the Night Shift" I will have to post it and go down further in your estimation.

Hello! I am LittleShadow, on some sites (that probably no longer exist) I was aka BandGeek101 (or just BG) and also Randomone101. I live in Ohio, but sometime by the time I retire I hope to move somewhere where it is warm 90% of the year instead of about 3-4 mos... >.< Anyways, I have been a fan of LOK since I first saw SR2 at my best friend's house when I was about 12. I'm 22 now so I guess it's safe to say that I've been a big fan for a while too :D The only game that I have not gotten to play is BO1 (am I the only one that giggles a little when typing BO? I always hear the 'fog horn' lol). Blood Omen two we nicknamed 'Twitchy'...ahh childhood memories.

It's been frustrating to hear rumors about new games every so many years, only to find out that they were only rumors, or that the game was cancelled, so I am Very excited to see that Something has finally been made!!! I'm not sure what to think about it being multiplayer (having lived in internet challenged areas), but maybe this will be the game that gets me into those types of games? I'm looking forward to dipping my toes into Nosgoth when I get some time off between semesters!!

Hello everyone, I just got my key and I'm planning to be on tomorrow.

I've been playing since the series began, although playstation discs being what they are I've had to get the steam bundle recently for posterity and hope my BO1 disc is still usable 'til it gets re-released never I'm a big fan of the series, and I like the idea of exploring it from ground level. I also like how the developers see Nosgoth itself as a character, as I feel the setting is one of its strong points. I'm interested to see how this goes, and consider it an interesting vignette within the canon.

I'm also probably the only person not minding whether they make more single-player games, as I feel the "Kain" arc ended nicely with Defiance's ambiguity. I can hardly see the fanbase being able to gravitate towards new leads in the story, nor can I think of hearing other voices behind our established characters. As far as my "in-world" loyalties go...it's complicated.

I hope this game proves as fun as it sounds, and the focus on making a balanced melee/shooting dichtonomy is something rather appealing to me, as it's a tricky biscuit. I'm also a free runner, so I'll do my best to find odd spots in the architecture to report on. I work weird shifts, but I'll be able to make most of the time slots as they stand.

Also, after almost a decade I'm still trying to find a replica of the Soul Reaver, but Kit Rae are deaf to all pleas.

And a note to those that try to catch me on the battlefield:

"...with so many pawns, can you find the true player?"

But I'm afraid I can't give a detailed feedback because of my bad english. :(

Hello fellow Nosgoth dwellers! My name is George, I am from Lebanon, I live in the USA. I have been a fan of LOK since the first game since day one of release date, the game literally changed the way I speak, I formed my vernacular from playing the LOK games over and over!
I heard about the game by fluke, I was jumping from dev profile to dev profile on twitter and saw one of the devs following Nosgoth on twitter, and I immediately clicked that profile and came to the site, and by the Gods was I astounded! On the spot, I applied for Alpha and I am beyond happy that I got to play my first match today!
I was a little reserved by the idea until today, I have to admit, but after the match, I am in love!! I can't wait to sink my teeth into the game, pun intended, time and time again!

I'm afraid that's not allowed in Closed Alpha - please see this post here (http://forums.eu.square-enix.com/showthread.php?t=7553) for more information, as well as section 3(b) of our NDA (http://www.nosgoth.com/nda).

Greetings everyone. My name is Andrew and I have been a fan of the Legacy of Kain series since the release of Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen in 1996. I have never been on any forums before so I decided to try it with one of my favorite series. I love to play online games and when I heard about Nosgoth on Steam I just couldn't resist. :D I just signed up for the closed Beta and I hope to be able to jump in ASAP! Can't wait to meet all of you and I hope I can keep up with the forums. <--- (First Time :poke: )

Good day to you fellows! Name's Charles, I'm a Legacy of Kain fan from Poland and probably I'll have an opportunity to play this new arena FTP in Alpha. I would be really glad :D. So what can I say? First of all - for me the best 2 games from the series are Soul Reaver 2 and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Played it like 6 times. I fell in love with those games for the first time, when my brother bought some games (On E-Bay I think) and we gave a try to Soul Reaver. Mechanics, story, all of these were charming for me. I just googled for more of content and found next game, then next etc. etc. Hopefully you won't screw a feeling of the game and you'll correct a mistake. Seriously - Dumah was a muscular guy without brain - not Turel. It's just awful for me :P. Anywayz I'll look for more and more content and surely will give a try to this. See ya later! :)

Howdy-doo. I'm The Doktor, also known as Lichmeister in some sites, and games. My irl name is Dustin, please feel free to use any of those names for me, I don't mind.
I've been an avid fan of the Legacy of Kain series for a number of years, since first playing a friend's copy of Soul Reaver 2. The amazing and twisting story behind it drove me to hunting down all of the other games, which I played almost religiously for a very long time, many times over. Fantasy games are my forte, especially Final Fantasy, the most popular of Square's creations, but it's not what I'm limited to.
I was recently involved with the FFXIV Beta testing, which I must admit was very enjoyable, and I look forward to helping Test with Nosgoth as well.

I'm an open book, if anyone would like to get in touch with me about the game, either to ask my opinion, or for just another member for a team, get ahold of me, at my Skype: suiyex, or my email DustinNicholls1992@gmail.com.

I look forward to seeing the future of this beloved gaming franchise.

Finally got to play the closed alpha yesterday and it was amazing! The game was well balanced and I love how teamwork is a major factor and almost pushes the teams to work together. The environments were beautiful and the Razielim and the humans were just amazing to look at even for being the alpha phase of development. The game had a nice flow and I found myself not really favoring a faction but classes of each such as the Sentinel with wings for flight and attacks (Razielim) and the Hunter with a crossbow and bolas.

This game can only get better from here and I look forward to seeing how it further develops.

Hi I'm a long time LoK fan looking forward to this new take on the franchise. I've been a huge fan of the series since the 32 bit era, and have owned and beaten every game from blood omen to defiance. I would be eternally grateful to be accepted into the beta, and will promise to spread the hype of this game after some hands on time with it. Thank!

My experience in free to plays is the following game: Microvolts. I've been playing that game for 3 years (2k posts in forum) but now I've stopped looking for another one and this one looks just great, I'd be grateful if you'd accept me.

Hello.

I'm new to the forum but I've been a fan of LoK since the first Soul Reaver came out in 1999. Since then, I have been a pretty devout fan to the series. And while I have been inactive with the community for a few months (I'm a pretty prominent voice in the 'A New Legacy of Kain Game Please, Square Enix' group on Facebook) due to a hectic work schedule, amongst other things that take up one's personal life, I'm hoping to get back into it.

I write, in fact I am writing a novel that will hopefully lead into something on a far greater scale, and LoK is one of several inspirations for it. This one book is broken down into 4 parts, the first of which will be available for free online next month. Depending on its success and feedback, I'm hoping to be picked up by a traditional publisher for the rest of the series.

I'm really excited for further development of the LoK universe. I think Nosgoth is a positive step forward for the series to regain recognition.

well it would seem i was one of the last to learn of Nosgoth. yeah i know me a die hard Legacy fan (the proof is in the fact that i still play all of the games i even had to goblinize an old xbox because microsoft thought it was a good idea to make some original xbox not playable on the new consoles) just now finding out about this. i would like to share some worries about Square being behind this (in other words i am not a FF fan at all) but i have been waiting for a new game within the world of Nosgoth. thank the gods the time has finally come.

Lakdav here. Been a fan of LoK since that fateful weekend when my brother's friend loaned us his PS1 with Soul Reaver about a decade ago. Intro sucked me right in like the Abyss, and never let go. Hunted down and played through all the other games as well as soon as i could, all games played through completely about 4-6 times per game. You could say that i learned english from these games (and we all know how LoK games always had great vocabularies to present their great story with). I could quote from dialogues all day long, though i guess many of you are like that.

Just heard about this new game today, scrolling down the comments on a Youtube clip of some Soul Reaver 1 soundtracks. I had mixed feelings at first. The long wait for a worthy conclusion is not over yet it seems, but the more i read and watched of this game, the more i appreciate it. Im glad that the devs are not jumping right at the story with a steamhammer out of the blue, and instead take their first steps more carefully, developing the setting and getting together a fun gameplay experience first and foremost. Maybe in time, this can grow out to be more and more worthy of the original series even story and lore-wise, and im hoping to see it happen.

Pleasure to be here. Can't wait to get involved and dive right in.
I've been playing LoK since the first one hit in 1996. Oh how I used to drive my then girlfriend (now wife) crazy with all the VAE VICTIS shouts Kain lets out. Every time he swung that sword...VAE VICTIS! VAE VICTIS! She HATED it, but she still married me...poor thing.
So like I said, can't wait to get to it. Thanks for having me.

Hello!

Never really bothered seeking out a community online for this series, but I've been a fan of the LoK series for many years now. Played the original Blood Omen when I was but a whelp and have been hooked since. Was slightly disappointed that this wasn't going to be a continuation of the story I've been waiting so long to see concluded, but I'm happy for the chance to step back into the world of Nosgoth again.

Even if it is lacking a certain tyrant and blue skinned dead undead guy.

Cheers!

I have been hype for this since I first heard it announced! Despite it's lack of story canon (though lets face it, the story's always been a bit bat**** crazy) I'm hopeful Psyonix can pull this one out of the bag.

Hello! I am Pepsi nice to meet you!(I like to draw, it's one of my favorite things to in my free time.)
I hail from the great white north, Manada. (canada)

I have been playing the game since 2000's, though I may have been in grade 1 at the time I'd watch my father play it
(I sucked at playing and the game scared me some, but I was a brave kid lol).

Since then the series had been something I've loved because I sorta grew up on it I guess. :)
Shhhh I know being underage and playing a adult game probably wasn't a good idea but still~ Thats what lead to my love for LOK today :D

My favorite of the series so far would have to be BO2 for I have quite a few fond memories of it.
Sadly I have not played Defiance

Sooooo now that you know a little about me all I have left to say is...

...I look forward to playing in the alpha and beta~ (and since I got a alpha key I shall lurk in the forums and occasionally post)

Hello there!
I'm usually Hidro, but that only has 5 letters and you need 6 :/. I'm a PC gamer so I never played any of the PS legacy of kain games. Not because I think PC gamers are a superior race like they like to say nowadays, but because I never had a console when I was young and grew used to a keyboard and mouse to game. I'm really bad at games with a controller.
I saw the game in the "coming soon" of steam, watched the trailer and got interested. Hope I make it to the alpha and eager to play it :]

Sataine
21st Jan 2014, 18:29
Look at me going off and posting without first introducing myself! I've lost sorts, it seems.

I am Arthur Sataine. I am a long standing fan of the Legacy of Kain series. I revere it as the best story to have ever been written in a game, ongoing series, or any other medium for that matter. To me, it is the pinnacle of writing, development, acting, and progression. It is nigh sacred to me.

That said, I am also an avid gamer. And, as much disdain as I get for it, I have watched gamers and the industry evolve for the past 25 years. As such there are three sociological classifications of gamer I have come to acknowledge. Hardcore, Casual, and True. It is in my own opinion that the Hardcore crowd are those that perpetuate the ruination of the industry. Keeping firm the inertia of the ever spiraling decay of quality and focus on nonessential aspects that the industry is in today. Casual gamers just play for fun whenever they can. And that is awesome. True gamers are those that appreciate games to their fullest. Those that understand the processes required in production. Those that play the games for fun and also greatly enjoy character & plot development, level design, atmosphere, acting, etc. They appreciate graphics but also acknowledge them as the least important factor in a game.

I expect this sounds rather arrogant and as if I am parading about on a white stallion leering down at those beneath me. This is not the case. It is merely 25 years of observation from one who has grown up along side the medium. I fully expect most of you to disagree with me and even outright hate me because of this. Just know it is never my intention to offend, upset, or otherwise perturb anyone. I can elaborate, privately, on these classifications if so asked or desired.

Now that is out of the way, I love games. Almost every single genre. I play almost all of them. I have been since I was 4 and I shall ever continue to do so as far as I can foresee. I play both PC and console. And while I do have preferences I very rarely admonish a brand. And never without good reason.

Ultimately I just want to play and enjoy games. I don't take them too seriously. In the end, after all, they are but games. As beautifully master crafted as they may be, they remain games. I will not have a day ruined just because I didn't perform well. Nor would I ever gloat and rub my virtual achievements in another's face. And I most certainly will never tell someone they are playing a character, class, or job incorrectly. There may very well be an optimum rotation or allocation that provides the best numbers. But I just do not care. I play the way that is most fun for me. Regardless if that puts me at the top of the ladder or not.

I am also a writer, artist, philosopher, and a great deal many other things. Maybe you all will discover more, maybe you won't. It all depends on if you are unsavory sorts or not. Those will be weeded through in due course. Again, I realize I seem quite pretentious. And, again, this is never my intention. I am just providing a bit of insight to any tone that may or may not be misinterpreted in any post I may write.

So, that all said, I am very happy to be part of this community. I look forward to discussing all things Nosgoth and Legacy of Kain with you fine people and fellow fans. For the moment, I shall cease my long-winded onslaught of an introductory message. And end it with; Hello. ;)

Hello. In 1996 i got a ps1 and i had 2 games one was Blood Omen, and i loved that game. I visited everywhere i could go, spent months. Then i played Soul Reaver, what a amazing game (till that ending). Needless to say i have played all of them, and i cried at the end of the last game. I am a old fan and so looking forward to this.

Hi folks,

it's a long time since i participated in a forum about the LoK-Series. The last was me beeing 14, shortly after i beat Defiance. Was about damn time you came up with a new game. ;)
Nice to see the series lived on in so many hearts. I've read all the blogs and websites of cut content, fan-games, discoverys of left-overs and it's so neat to see so many people have a passion for non-sparkling vampires with a deep story.

My ingame-nick is kainvnod. Just for you to know who dragged your corpse around to a dirty corner to amuse oneself with your corpse.
That probaply came off rather weird ...

I don't know what else to say. I was skeptic at first, but I got to like this game so far, and I am looking forward to aid its development in terms of tips and feedbacks. Greetings and Salutations everyone. I am from the US, heard about nosgoth.com from a random deviantart.com watcher of mine, been a fan since Blood Omen 1, faves being Defiance because of playing both, and Blood Omen 2. I know of PvP games, and PvE games, but have only really played the latter of the two. I'm very grateful in being a part of the closed alpha, and hope to have fun, as well as find out of if there are any bugs and report them in a timely manner. My main style of gaming is inside of PS3/PS4, and generally are RPG oriented, even if Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Darksiders are on the top of my list.

Hello, Nosgoth.

I love LoK. I am 22y old winemaker(bio-chemistry and physics background), have big ideas on game design and very eager to contribute to this franchise, using my knowledge of modern and ancient sciences.
Legacy of Kain series got me into Syncretism (see Santos Bonacci's lectures on youtube) and i am immensely grateful for that.

Although i find Nosgoth lacking in syncronistic ways of design, games of that genre are constanly evolving organisms. I'll do my best to bring in new ideas and solutions, if it is possible for a forum member to somehowe influence this game

Hello. I've been lurking around here for long enough, I finally decided to register. I've been a fan of Legacy of Kain since I first played Defiance. The story was so good I had to go back and play the Blood Omen games before Soul Reaver 1 and 2. It didn't take long for it to become my favorite series.

I heard about Nosgoth from some other forums I haven't joined. I tend to do a lot of lurking rather than talking.

I'm not much of an online gamer, but this one is tempting enough that I'll probably try it. I look forward to seeing more of Nosgoth. Especially the blogs explaining more of the story.

i just updated my info i put in a dxdiag it says it will increase my chances im worried my pc could get hacked or something with that info should i be worried?

No, don't worry - firstly your DxDiag info doesn't make your PC more vulnerable to hacking attempts and secondly, the server on which that info is stored is private and completely secure. :)

Hi folks, I'm entirely new to the world of Nosgoth and I've never played a LoK game (but I might be interested in picking it up on Steam at some point).

I am however a huge fan of Bram Stoker's Dracula, Castlevania, and Vampire Hunter D. Personally I cannot wait to try this game out at some point this week when I'm not at school. In the mean time I'm going have to explore the forums and read up on the lore of this game. :)

I absolutely suggest picking up the LoK games if you see them on sale on Steam. I've seen them as low as $10 for four or five of them, and that's the cost of buying lunch out one day. You'll get lots more enjoyment from the games, and a lot less indigestion.

If you have a controller for your PC, or have an old Xbox 360 controller that can be plugged in, I found it made the games a lot easier to play that way.

Hi, folks! My name is Adrian and I'm from Argentina. I must say I am very thankful for you guys to revive my favourite saga in videogames ever. I played all previous LOK games so I wanted to point out this new game contributes to a lot of missing pieces and events in the plot, just as the Freeport and Provance cities in-depth history, for example, and of course, the clan wars and all that occured while Kain was out there, searching for a way to deceive his own destiny. Therefore, as an old LoK fan, I welcome this title and hope you keep adding more delightful details to the story, characters and places as you've been doing.

Also, I'd love to know more about Ziegsturhl than the very little we all know.

Keep on doing the good work!
(and please pardon my poor English)

Hey there! I am greatly looking forward to the game and crossing my fingers for the closed beta! Now, I gotta admit I was skeptical when I first looked at the game because I played all the past games. Tiny things like "But Dumah was the really big one, Turell was a bat-quadruped-thing! Why is Reaver not Raziel's clan? Why is Raziel's clan not wiped out/being discriminated against?" that kind of thing. But as I kept looking I got over it, and can see that the game itself looks really really fun! It's not going to be the storyline advancement I was hoping for, but I am still extremely eager to see how the game progresses! And since I am seeing a few posts with the famous line (Which I -really- hope becomes a taunt for both sides):

Vae victis!

Hello everyone. I'm from Ontario, Canada & love class-based PvP. Started out playing DAoC, then played a number of other MMOs until TF2 hit & I realized that I'm not interested in MMO stuff, but the balanced class-based teamplay. Most recently, I have been playing Guild Wars 2, which had a great teamplay model but was bogged down by having a PvE world which influenced development time & balance issues. The footage released last week for Nosgoth is exciting & I look forward to sinking my teeth into Beta. I plan on being an active streamer & supporter for competitive play.

Hi there!

Inrezairo here or my more normal name of Helen. I am from Northampton in the U.K and have been a long time follower of the Legacy of Kain and was privileged to handle the first copies of the original Blood Omen that hit UK shores having family that worked in the distribution centre!

I found out about Nosgoth by chance and having been keeping an eye on its progress.

I'll admit I have some of the old fan fears for this completely different take on a beloved old game but I am enjoying the stories that are being written in the blogs. They tie into the world really well and are entertaining and imaginative.

I managed to watch the live stream of the game via the magic of Youtube and I think it looks like fun!

I've not really played any online or PC games and the few times I did I was quickly picked off by people far more experienced and this made it really unapproachable and not fun.

Looking forward to seeing more and maybe reading more stories as new classes are revealed.

It's been fun thus far and I look forward to the additions on the horizon and hope this game has a long and healthy future.

Dude!! From time to time I like to see new games coming out on steam, before I even click on the game I'll type it in YouTube to see is it worth the time. I'm glad I did, I'm blown away at how awesome this looks and glad to have just got in the beta. I watched the game-play videos and was impatient to try it. I actually had a similar idea like this a couple years back, and it's like my idea came to life lol....(mine - vampire/human/werewolf). I so can't wait to try this game out, it looks bad ass....oh yeah.....here's my social security number :)

Hello! I was wondering where we post our comments and feedback about the game itself and any problems we may be having with the game thus far. I only have one right now. I understand it's still in beta, so that said, the game looks amazing!

Hello everyone! I am a long time fan since the original Blood Omen was released and have played everything except Defiance to date. Can't wait to get in and get hands on with this great looking game. No worries folks I am no feeder or troll ;) Love competitive games and my motto is "Play to win" FINALLY got a rig capable of streaming and running everything my heart desires at max FPS \m/ (0.0) \m/ I play League of Legends for most of the day and have a maxed account in Warframe. When not in either of those I can most likely be found in Planetside 2. I am a user of the Raptr gaming community app and also Steam. I look forward to being a part of this community and am happy that this series is finally getting the love it deserved. Here's hoping for a dark and dreary bloodsoaked future for a long time to come ^^

Hello! I've waited 11 long years to play another LoK game since the Defiance was released. I'm most honored to take part in the Closed Beta and hope that this would be a new smoke-dimmed dawn for the Land of Nosgoth.
