What artillery is most affective against Infantry and cavalry? (don't say congreve rockets) what is most effective against infantry and cavalry, howitzers or 6 pounders?

Depends on what effective is for you?
I prefer the howitzers for their longer range which means they can hit earlier the enemy, and cause more casualties from a safer distance. Where the 6 pounders might be able to kill more but with about 20 per cent less range can be destroyed by other artillery before even going close to the enemy infantry/cavalry.

So 6 pounders DOES kill more units with every volley? that's what I want to know you see, I'm building mass artillery and I want them to have devastating effect. Are you sure 6-pounders kill MORE than howitzers?

The 6 pounders bounce, so they will cut through the files of infantry and cavalry. Howitzers just explode in an area. I think the kill about the same, normally about 3-4 men everytime they hit.

Anyone else seen different?
