I made the mistake of buying before trying the demo, as neither of them works for me. I double-click (or right-click Open) the shortcut or .exe for either the Demo or full version, and i get an hourglass for a second and then nothing. :(

Here is a piece of my DxDiag (edited for brevity): :/

Try the first bit of advice in the FAQ (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=50205)

Follow the instructions in the first question (i know u dont mention any error, but it could be related)

Thanks, i tried your suggestion. But still have the same problem. It has me stumped! Even closed out all anti spyware/virus applications that could be blocking it. No personal firewalls up. Both demo and full do nothing.

Other games such as Guild Wars and Star Wars Battlefront load properly. Hmmm.

Did you run the analysis program and email in the log file?

Maybe a new sound driver is in order.

And what Windows version are you running?

Have not done that yet, No.

I will try a new sound driver. Guess you never know, but I have a feeling that won't help LOL. But i'll try it.

I'm also going to try updating the Windows XP to SP2. For some reason or another, maybe because I had problems in the past, this particular PC of mine is not running SP2. I dunno if that makes a difference or not with LEGO Star Wars--it never really mentions that. But this is the only PC I have with Pixel Shader support in the gfx card (and the only one not running SP2), so playing it on my other PCs and Laptops which do have SP2 wouldn't really work.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Here is an interesting tid-bit. Have Windows XP installed on drive E. I installed the game on drive F. So, today I decide to uninstall LEGO Star Wars and re-install to drive E. Well, I actually re-installed the Demo since it is faster than installing the full version from the CD. Apparently that worked (having the game on the same drive letter as Windows).

I will have to try the full game installation then to see if I get the same result.
