Hi,

I successfully installed it but before I played it, it said "The application can't be initialized." What do I do? I am very hyped for this game but, I can't play it. :(

Have you got an Intel integrated graphics card?

Yes I do, but I thought it only crashed when you enter a battle? Is intel still working on it?. Is there any other way? Thanks :(

Hello,

I have exactly the same problem mentioned earlier in this thread after buying the game today. can this problem only be corrected by updating or buying a new graphics card?
if so ill need to take the game back as soon as possible. anyone know?
cheers

The problem lies in Intels hardware, it has no TnL support. Which is required by the game. Why their latest LATEST chipset STILL doesnt support it is a complete mystery as its OLD technology now, they have pixel shader support but not TnL - kinda like have a V8 engine without any cylinders.

Am talking to the dev team to see if we can remove the code that checks for the TnL and get it to use a fall back software engine for those parts (ie let your CPU handle it)

thanks for the reply. so is it something that would be easily sorted if something can indeed be done?

same here, this seems a pretty widespread problem

same here, this seems a pretty widespread problem

Pyro is investigating the issue to see if we can make a fix. It seems to be related to the lack of TnL and also lack of AGP texturing.

The chipset is underspecced for the game (TnL and AGP texturing have been staple features of graphics cards for many years now), so if we do get a `workaround` for this chipset theres a change it will be more taxing on the CPU to make up for the graphics cards shortfalls - altho in all honesty most CPUs are more then powerful enough to mean you probably wouldnt notice :)

Will keep you all updated.

how would this workaround be ....... implemented, if it can be done? im not very good with computers :(

Would just be a new exe for the game. Basically during start up of the game the graphics engine is does a series of checks, does graphics card support this?, that?, the other?. What's happening is that on the intel chipset is its failling a few of the questions so doesnt initialise.

I’d like to second the "how long will it take" question, I assume my problem is related to this I have an nvidia 5200,

Would be very grateful if you could give us an estimated date for a fix, i.e.: 1week, 1month, as if its going to take a long time I may return my game for a refund before the guarantee runs out.

Thanks very much,
Martin :)

The 5200 shouldnt have any problem running the game at all. The issue here is related to the underspecced Intel chipsets :(
