As in medieval total war, bows and guns were almost powerless. Is that the same thing here? If a large number of riflemen fire on a group of curassiers do only like 1 fall down?

Don't worry, guns actually do damage in this game, here's a tip, never charge a line of infantry with cavalry.

Good, so actually the muskeeters or riflemen can actually kill large amounts of calvaries in their charge right? IN games like age of empires, empire earth, medieval total war the shooters were always subs. IN total war when the most eliete longbow men fires at pesants each volley takes down like 3 pesants. IN these games the shooters can never stop small groups of calvary. But in history calvary was easily stopped especially by this age (the game takes place in).

Many calvary fell but only a few infantry fell after a volley.

that is because infantry stay at the longest range possible when attacking, cavalry get closer and closer when chargeing thus improving accuracy of your troops
