Bono acquires Danish Hitman company

IT and high tech industries:
Shortly after the Irish rock singer Bono secretly paid a visit with IO Interactive in Copenhagen, the large wallet was taken out of the pocket, writes Computerworld.

The U2 lead singer’s company Elevation Partners wishes to acquire the games giant Eidos, the owner of IO Interactive, which is behind the successful game Hitman. The price is 55 million euro.

Elevation Partners was established last year by Bono together with five partners with the purpose of investing in companies within entertainment and media.

Eidos has been going through a crisis for some time, and either a massive capital injection or an acquisition was required if the company should survive.

Eidos acquired Danish IO Interactive last spring for 34 million euro and consequently added the contract killer Hitman to its portfolio of box-office successes, moreover counting Tomb Raider and the football game Championship Manager.

The interest for Hitman has been great and is emphasized by the fact that Bono recently visited IO Interactive secretly in Copenhagen.
