Have you ever heard of Micronationalism?

Its rather wierd, I stumbled across it with a random search on the internet. Its where you can make-up an imaginary nation and try and run it with a real government, a political simulation. Like a model government you might have participated in at shcool.

You can find more about it here, http://www.micronations.net/
I've decided to make one aswell, at the moment its based mostly on the UK and odd bits of the Disc World novels, its called the United Virtual Kingdom of Bretannia (http://s8.invisionfree.com/the_UVKB.php), but if members do't want it like that then we can change it around.

your post got me interested so i did my own search and apparently micronations can even be recognized as their own country and earn a seat in the U.N.
heres a link to this guys site pretty interesting stuff

one thing i dont understand are these online communites of people w/ their own government, are thier actual citizens for these nations. The list goes on for a while, this is sounding like a really complex rpg. This is not your everyday D&D with your +4 cape of invisibility.

does w/ mean with?

If so then yes, there are some really serious micronations who consider their members to be citizens. And as you've seen in that essay thingy there are some who consider micronations to be an RPG but there are those who want to make it real.

I'm not interested in making a real nation, atleast not yet , to me a pollitcal role-play simulation type thingy is all I'm after. If it gets popular enough and people want to take it further then we can.

This is some pretty amazing stuff. We should make the kids play this so the world doesn’t fall apart in the next few decades!

it would be pretty strange having your next door neighbor be from the micronation of vulcania while you living only a few meters away in the house next door are of the micronation of sithtania

ps. i just made those two micronations up, i have no idea if they actually exist

Sci-fi, sort of like Fantasy, some fantasy can be funny, that is why you should read Terry Pratchett's discworld novels... now. :D
