Could use a little help, no matter how much I ring the bell the priest Griedus doesn't turn up and I can't find his quarters.

His appearance is not instant. Ring and wait if you want to see him.

Ring bell, then Slip out onto the balcony to the East overlooking the guard barracks.

Go to the north end where the broken railing is, and slip off onto the pipe below you to the north.

Follow the pipe around, get yourself onto the next pipe you come to and continue to the porch.

Drop onto the porch. The door to the east opens into his room.

If you ring and run to do the above, you can see him come out and head for the church proper.

I only once had a problem where the high priest wouldn't go to the chappel and this was due with some AI path-finding issues (bumping into objects that wouldn't let them pass through).

His quarters arewhere everyone's quarters are, you can see it on the map. If you follow the priest as he leaves with his escort they will leave the chappel and go up some stairs. At the top of these stairs right after that door is his chamber. The bell ringing is not really necessary, just convenient if you want to search his chambers in peace for a bit.

The high priest is not always in the chapel when you pass through, as Mister T states.

At different difficulty levels he will be in his quarters, or in the chapel.

If the chapel floor has a single guard, and no other occupant, then Gredius is in his room. The bell then becomes a welcome ally in your quest.

You can also get into Gredius' room by means of a vent system. From the planted area south of the main barracks entrance, mantle onto the pipe that is on the east wall of the barracks.

Walk north to the end, mantle up on the ledge, then onto the pipe that runs East/West along the portico wall. Open the grill. Go in up the ladder and open the next grill. Pass through and you are on the rafters over Gredius's room.

Turn left, drop onto the top of the bookcase, then you are on your own.

To return, mantle the bookcase you arrived on, then the beam and retreat the way you came.

Cheers guys

Turns out he couldn't come because I had already stuck an arrow through his head. Not very sporting I must admit, and I had been walking past the hammer on the table for the last three hours..........
