At last i managed to install Thief Gold on my computer, but every time i start a mission, it freezes in the loading process.
Is there anything i can do?

Probably. Please state the details of your system components, including motherboard, processor, graphics card and sound card, or on-board hardware if that is what you have, and the versions of the drivers and Direct X you are using. Sometimes on-board graphics cause problems, but there are usually solutions.

Try installing the latest video card drivers, I believe it is 61.77.

Sorry, I don't have a clue, but I can suggest some things to try.

It sounds like you have all the right gear and maybe the latest drivers. I'm not sure about the sound. That can cause crashes, too. I suggest that you update your sound driver if you have not done so. Then turn off hardware sound and EAX in the Options menu. If that has no effect, then turn off hardware video, also in the Options menu. Maybe that will narrow it down to at least which component is causing problems.

In addition, there is a thread I started in this forum: Poll: Does Thief run under Windows XP? (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29823). There is a FAQ at TTLG (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031) that might tell you something.

Try things one at a time so if there is a change you can tell what did it. Report back and let us know how you are doing. Thief Gold is definitely worth playing.
