View Full Version : Final Fantasy on Smartphones

it would be good if Final Fantasy the series are listed at Android Market.,

4th Jul 2012, 13:11
There's already a thread about this. (http://na.square-enix.com/go/thread/view/139231/29175089/Petition_to_localize_Square_Enix_Android_games_in_North_America.) ;)

I see they are bringing out Final Fantasy 3 and Final Fantasy Dimensions eventually to the Android, but who here is hoping they bring Final Fantasy to Android phones? Personally I hope they consider it, I also wouldn't mind seeing remakes of Final Fantasy Legend brought to mobile phones as well.

10th Jul 2012, 20:58
Honestly, don't really care if they make mobile FF games or not. Only one I wanted was the turks one. But apparently it wasn't on T-mobile, or my phone at least. So wasn't able to buy it from the T-mobile store. What I would want is for them to remake FF7, but according to a friend, the high ups said that they won't remake the game until a new one comes out that does just as good.. ..By the looks of it, that'll never happen... =(

11th Jul 2012, 01:59
Final Fantasy 3 has been out on Android for over a week. It's got better graphics than the one on DS so it's pretty cool. Also I hear they're bringing Chrono Trigger to Android so that should be pretty awesome.

14th May 2013, 09:27
Even though FFIII and FF dimensions are expensive, they were the best games I ever bought from google play store.

Square enix have released FFIV and even FFV for iOS months ago. Why the hell it is not available for Android ? PLEASE RELEASE IT NOW

Also, I heard that they released FF Tactics on adroid for japan only. Why not release it on google play ?

18th May 2013, 16:05
Forget Android, I'd rather Square Enix fix the sprites to look better, fix the problem with the character portraits popping out of line with the text box and release it on 3DS
Square Enix better put Final Fantasy 1/2 Dawn of Souls, IV, V and VI Advance on the Wii U Shop Channel

27th May 2013, 13:30
Tommy, I too am waiting for this. It would be very successful too, seeing the success found from Final Fantasy III and Dimensions. It wouldn't be difficult either. Just take the Japanese Android files and apply the iOS translations. Sure it might be a bit tedious but it is definitely do-able, and the rewards are worth it.

Derek, you are asking a bit much to be honest. First off, it is much more of an investment and greater risk to do that for the 3DS. It isn't really a very popular system and doing that would take much more time than the Android. In regards to the Wii U Shop Channel, doing all of that would take even longer for even less reward. It just makes so much sense for SE to release FFIV for Android now. I'm cool with waiting for FFV, because FFIV isn't even out yet. Heck, even releasing them out of order would be fine with me, I just want to play a classic Final Fantasy game on my Android.

22nd Jan 2014, 17:09
Can anyone confirm if any of the Final Fantasy releases in the Google Play store have controller support? I know the controls are touch screen, but I am looking at purchasing them for use with my Nvidia Shield, which has a built in physical controller, and I certainly do not want to use it's touchscreen for controlling the game.

As a side note, just in case anyone is familiar with the Shield, it has a custom button mapping option, but I'm positive that it will not translate to any of the Final Fantasy games due to the menu system.

16th Mar 2014, 17:14
Why Final Fantasy is ignored for Windows Phone's platform?
Final Fantasy I has an horrible porting that doesn't run at full-screen with unreadable characters and Final Fantasy II doesn't exist on it. Final Fantasy III is a good porting but it runs at 800x480 on every phone due to WP7.5 compatibility and Final Fantasy IV, V and VI are available for iOS and Android but not on WP7.5/WP8. But Final Fantasy isn't the only game that it's not available on WP Store... The market sharing and the interest about this new operating system is increasing, it cannot be ignored forever.

18th Mar 2014, 16:18
As someone who owns both windows phone & android phone I want to see Final Fantasy 2, 4, 5 & 6 on windows phone. I've already purchased 1 & 3 for my windows phone (when they were first released at full price) and want to play the others on my windows phone. Some could say "Well you could always get them on your android" and my response back to that is that as much as I like those games with the high price tags they are just not worth the price unless they have achievement support which they would have on a windows phone. Come on Square Enix make it happen.

18th Mar 2014, 18:34
yeah thats great

11th Aug 2014, 09:49
The problem with Windows Phone is that there isn't that large of a market. Developers will always prefer larger markets. Android had and to some extent still has content not available on Android but is available on iOS.

Square Enix are very slowly releasing the major releases on Windows Phone. The Amazon Appstore seems to be a good indication of what's going to come to Windows Phone. So games like FFIV, Crystal Defenders and the other Chaos Rings games would likely be released eventually.

Years ago I bought (and still own) an official pc version of Triple Triad.
It was still branded Digicube.
It was nicely done and it had also the "shuffle or boogie" track.
Any chance Square decides to import it officially in the west?
