You will not be able to play a game that requires Pixel Shader 1.1 or higher on that video card, sorry.

Thief: DS requirements exceed the hardware abilities of the card, and there are certain things in computers, and life, that cannot be faked.

Return the game or the card? I'd go for the latter cause to be honest....the game is worth more!

Why are these MX cards so bloody popular? I got bundled with the same one when I bought my first pc, january, last year. And again when I bought another monitor I bought an MX 440 (woohoo--- big time upgrade) for the dual monitor set up. Stoopid low end business cards

And I wondered why my Warcraft screen was chopping up as soon as I cranked the graphics up?

hnnnnr sorry Bud...to answer your question: no. Thief 3 will never run with an MX 420 440 or any 0.

as grey mouser has said its the shaders that are the bone of contention here, the ati cards from the lowly 9200 have pixel shader 1.4 which will run thief 3,dont cost much,£30 english or $55usa............:)

Henriko -- I think you have a good excuse to justify getting yourself a nVidia GF6800 or Ati X800. ;)
