I've looked around the forums alot, and havn't found the answer to my problem so I might as well post it here.. I Downloaded the demo of T3, it worked great.. but was a little low on FPS so I decide to upgrade my graphics/sound card drivers. I do so and it goes nuts, every 3 seconds the game will freeze, and the sound will loop. It will unfreeze for about 3 seconds and then it will happen again.. over and over.. in any menu besides the title menu, and ingame. So I format my HD thinking I screwed something up, buy T3, install it, put in latest drivers etc.. and it still happens. Help! Does anyone know how to fix this problem??

My system specs are:
Athlon 2100+ (1.7 ghz)
512 ram
Geforce 4 TI 4600 with preformance enhanced drivers from Omega Corner (http://www.omegacorner.com)
Sound blaster Audigy with orginal drivers from the CD (the newest ones don't seem to work.. they don't make any sound)

The only thing I could think of that would make it not work, is that my sound card might not be DirectX 9.0b compatiable, due to the fact my computer is probably 2-3 years old and I'm using the same sound drivers from then.

So, thanks ahead of time if you can figure this out :D

I'm not really sure. Try messing with your graphics drivers. Roll them back a bit.

Well, I've tried about 10 different drivers for graphics. The beta version from Guru 3D, about 7 different drivers from Nvidia including the latest 3 and the oldest 3. :(

Well, I can't help...but I can tell you it's not your soundcard.

I've got a Soundblaster Live card and it works fine (and SB Live is older/crappier than an Audigy).

Be sure you're Audigy drivers are the newest ones though. edit- sorry just noticed you said the newest drivers don't work. That's odd...and I bet that's your problem.

Did you uninstall the old drivers before you installed the new ones? If you don't, sometimes some pieces of the old drivers stay in the system, and cause conflicts with the new ones.

Yeah, I made sure to uninstall everything before installing the new stuff.. and yet.. it still doesn't work :( Well, I'm going to go buy a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 XS today, hopefully that will solve my problems....

Does the game work with your onboard sound, that is if you have one? Nice way to check if the problem is with your sound card.

I don't believe I have a onboard sound card. Though, I might. How would you check for one? There isn't a onboard sound card listed in the device manager.

Either check the specs on your motherboard with the manufacturer, or look in the BIOS.

Or look behind your computer and check if it has connectors for speakers (not the sound card connecors). My old computer had onboard audio and i bought it 2001. (But it wasn't a good onboard audio)

Well.. I found the place where you can plug in speakers so I guess I can run off onboard, but the question is how do I GET IT to run off onboard sound? :(

I have an onboard sound card and it runs fine. I doubt that is your problem with the game.

Do make sure that you comp is clean of all viruses, adware, and spyware.

Ok, I have offically updated my drivers to the latest version, and the sound works this time. I did a complete uninstall followed by driver cleaner. :p The problem still remains. It's all screwy with looping still.

Edit: I formatted my harddrive, and I'm not some porn freak who looks at porn. Nor did I go to any shady sites or anything, so I'm virus/spyware/adware free.
