Ok.. here's the scoop. no thief game plays on my computer. I've used the -lgntforce tag on installs. And i installed regularly. they install fine, just when i play... it won't load game. just blank screen.

Here's my setup:
AMD XP2500 Barton @ 2.07Ghz
512MB PC3200 @ 374Mhz
Shuttle AN35N Ultra Motherboard
Nforce2 Ultra 400 chipset
XP Pro SP1 w/ recent updates
DirectX 9.0b
Nvidia FX5600 Ultra vivo 256MB DDR 8x AGP
Nvidia drivers v56.64
ReForce refresh rate fix (set or default no change)

Thief: The Dark Project 1.14 full install
xp compatible setting 98/Me

The error i get is Direct 3D related. Something about memory and direct 3d. But, I play games like Counter-Strike, Halo, Unreal, Quake 3 Arena, all perfect.

please help thanks.

The following are exes that fix the texture problem.

Thief 1.14 (http://www.btinternet.com/~bobruck/files/thieffixed114.zip)
Thief 1.33 (http://www.btinternet.com/~bobruck/files/thieffixed133.zip)
Thief Gold (http://www.btinternet.com/~bobruck/files/thieffixedgold.zip)
Thief 2 1.18 (http://www.btinternet.com/~bobruck/files/thief2fixed.zip)

thx Salvage.

I'm assuming i'm supposed to rename it "thief.exe" and replace the org. exe? I did that and it now keeps asking for the cd when the cd is already there. so it's not working.:(

Yeah, you should unzip them and replace the original exe files.

They should work fine, as they have worked for others(these were posted at the TTLG thread posted earlier on page 7).

You can remove the references to the cd-rom drive from the install.cfg(and darkinst.cfg for Thief 2) and that should fix the cd-rom problem.
