Could someone please tell me an approximation of how well each GeForce and Radeon card will run the game with a processor speed of 2.4GB and 256 megs of RAM?

I'm really stuck. I was considering getting Radeon 9200 (I don't have too much money), but then someone said on Gamefaqs that GeForce 4 Ti4600 is better, and even it doesn't run the game well, so I should get a Radeon 9600. Then someone ELSE said that I should get a Radeon 7000 because with a bit of programming it can run the game near-perfect. I am a bit confused.

Radeon 7000 doesn't support the game period... Check out `which GPU is best` thread, it lists cards by their fill rates which is the most important stat on the card for Deus (aside from the pixel shader requirement)

You'd wait at least 512MB ram in total nowadays really.

Anyway, whoever told you that the 7000 can emulate pixel shading is correct, also what he didn't tell you is that it'd run at 2 frames per second and thats being generous.
Shot yourself before purchasing the 9200 because thats how bad it is. The ti4600 is recognised by the game unlike the ti4800 for some strange reason. The ti4600 has more raw power than the 9600Pro, but the 9600Pro is dx9 compliant and hence a better choice.
Sorry if I overloaded there with info.

7000 can emulate a pixel shader? really? that must be like a software emulation then..

oh sorry forgot to add software. Yes, its what that guy in the other thread implied except without a massive GPU to power it the end result is extra slow frame rendering.

Take a Radeon 9600pro. It is DirectX 9 compatible and runs the demo at 1024x768 with everything set to max very well. Don't go for a Ti4x00. They are good cards for DX8.1 games, but their time will soon be over. And they are not cheaper than a 9600pro.

I've got a 9600Pro and I can tell you that DX2 is a little like Halo...they've buggered up somewhere in the engine because I'm struggling to get average 25fps in the demo with medium details.

Overall it's a good card but don't exaggerate it's performance for this game.

I have a Ti 4600 that runs the game fine, but if you want a DX9 part, get the 9600/9700/9800 series.
